Ézéchiel 1
1 Or il arriva en la trentième année, au quatrième mois, au cinquième jour du mois, que lorsque j’étais au milieu des captifs, près du fleuve de Chobar, les deux furent ouverts, et je vis les visions de Dieu.
It came to passe in the thirtieth yere in the fourth moneth, and in the fift day of the moneth (as I was among the captiues by the riuer Chebar) that the heauens were opened and I sawe visions of GOD.
2 Le cinquième du mois, c’est la cinquième année de la transmigration du roi Joachim,
In the fift day of the moneth (which was the fift yere of King Ioiachins captiuitie)
3 La parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Ezéchiel, le prêtre, fils de Buzi, dans la terre des Chaldéens, près du fleuve de Chobar, et là fut sur lui la main du Seigneur.
The word of the Lord came vnto Ezekiel the Priest, the sonne of Buzi, in the lande of the Caldeans, by the riuer Chebar, where the hande of the Lord was vpon him.
4 Et je vis, et voilà qu’un vent de tourbillon venait de l’aquilon; et une grande nuée, et un feu tournoyant, et une lumière éclatante tout autour, et du milieu, c’est-à-dire du milieu du feu, brillait comme une espèce de succin;
And I looked, and beholde, a whirlewinde came out of the North, a great cloude and a fire wrapped about it, and a brightnesse was about it, and in the middes thereof, to wit, in the middes of the fire came out as the likenesse of amber.
5 Et au milieu du feu la ressemblance ressemblance de quatre animaux; et voici leur aspect: la ressemblance d’un homme.
Also out of the middes therof came the likenesse of foure beastes, and this was their forme: they had the appearance of a man.
6 Chacun d’eux avait quatre faces, et chacun d’eux quatre ailes.
And euery one had foure faces, and euery one had foure wings.
7 Leurs pieds étaient droits, et la plante de leurs pieds comme la plante du pied d’un veau, et il sortait d’eux des étincelles ayant l’apparence de l’airain le plus brillant.
And their feete were streight feete, and the sole of their feete was like the sole of a calues foote, and they sparkled like the appearance of bright brasse.
8 Et des mains d’hommes étaient sous leurs ailes aux quatre côtés; et ils avaient des faces et des ailes aux quatre côtés.
And the handes of a man came out from vnder their wings in the foure parts of them, and they foure had their faces, and their wings.
9 Et les ailes de l’un étaient jointes à celles de l’autre; ils ne se retournaient pas lorsqu’ils marchaient; mais chacun d’eux allait devant sa face.
They where ioyned by their wings one to another, and when they went forth, they returned not, but euery one went streight forward.
10 Quant à la ressemblance de leur visage, c’était une face d’homme et une face de lion, à la droite des quatre; mais une face de bœuf à la gauche des quatre, et une face d’aigle au-dessus des quatre.
And the similitude of their faces was as the face of a man: and they foure had the face of a lyon on the right side, and they foure had the face of a bullocke on the left side: they foure also had the face of an eagle.
11 Leurs faces et leurs ailes s’étendaient en haut: ils se tenaient l’un l’autre par deux de leurs ailes, et ils couvraient leur corps par les deux autres;
Thus were their faces: but their wings were spred out aboue: two wings of euery one were ioined one to another, and two couered their bodies.
12 Et chacun d’eux marchait devant sa face; là où était l’impétuosité de l’esprit, là ils allaient; et ils ne se retournaient pas lorsqu’ils marchaient.
And euery one went streight forward: they went whither their spirit led them, and they returned not when they went forth.
13 Et la ressemblance des animaux et leur aspect étaient comme un feu de charbons ardents et comme un aspect de lampes. Voici ce qu’on voyait courir au milieu des animaux: l’éclat d’un feu, et la foudre sortant du feu.
The similitude also of the beasts, and their appearance was like burning coles of fire, and like the appearance of lampes: for the fire ran among the beastes, and the fire gaue a glister, and out of the fire there went lightning.
14 Et les animaux allaient et revenaient, comme la foudre étincelante.
And the beastes ranne, and returned like vnto lightning.
15 Et comme je regardais les animaux, apparut sur la terre, près des animaux, une roue ayant quatre faces;
Nowe as I behelde the beastes, beholde, a wheele appeared vpon the earth by the beastes, hauing foure faces.
16 Et l’aspect des roues et leur structure étaient comme la vue de la mer, et toutes quatre se ressemblaient: et leur aspect et leur structure étaient comme ceux d’une roue qui est au milieu d’une autre roue.
The facion of the wheeles and their worke was like vnto a chrysolite: and they foure had one forme, and their facion, and their worke was as one wheele in another wheele.
17 Elles allaient constamment par leurs quatre côtés, et elles ne se retournaient pas lorsqu’elles marchaient.
Whe they went, they went vpon their foure sides, and they returned not when they went.
18 Les roues avaient aussi une étendue, une hauteur et un aspect horrible; et tout le corps des quatre roues était plein d’yeux tout autour.
They had also rings, and height, and were fearefull to beholde, and their rings were full of eyes, round about them foure.
19 Et lorsque les animaux marchaient, marchaient pareillement aussi les roues près d’eux; et lorsque les animaux s’élevaient de terre, s’élevaient en même temps aussi les roues.
And when the beastes went, the wheeles went with them: and when the beasts were lift vp from the earth, the wheeles were lift vp.
20 Partout où allait l’esprit, là allant l’esprit, les roues aussi pareillement s’élevaient en le suivant. Car l’esprit de vie était dans les roues.
Whither the spirit led them, they went, and thither did the spirite of the wheeles leade them, and the wheeles were lifted vp besides them: for the spirit of the beastes was in the wheeles.
21 Lorsque les animaux allaient, les roues allaient; lorsqu’ils s’arrêtaient, elles s’arrêtaient; lorsqu’ils s’élevaient de terre, pareillement s’élevaient aussi les roues, en les suivant; parce que l’esprit de vie était en elles.
When the beastes went, they went, and when they stoode, they stoode, and when they were lifted vp from the earth, the wheeles were lifted vp besides them: for the spirite of the beastes was in the wheeles.
22 Et une ressemblance du firmament était au-dessus de la tête des animaux, comme l’aspect d’un cristal horrible et étendu en haut sur leurs têtes.
And the similitude of the firmament vpon the heads of the beasts was wonderfull, like vnto chrystall, spred ouer their heads aboue.
23 Mais sous le firmament, leurs ailes étaient droites l’une vis-à-vis de l’autre; l’un avec deux de ses ailes voilait son corps, et l’autre semblablement se voilait.
And vnder the firmament were their wings streight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which couered the, and euery one had two, which couered their bodies.
24 Et j’entendais le bruit de leurs ailes comme le bruit des grandes eaux, comme la voix du Dieu très haut: quand ils marchaient, c’était comme le bruit d’une grande multitude, comme le bruit d’un camp; et quand ils s’arrêtaient, leurs ailes s’abaissaient.
And when they went foorth, I heard the noyse of their wings, like the noyse of great waters, and as the voyce of the Almightie, euen the voyce of speach, as the noyse of an host: and when they stood, they let downe their wings.
25 Car lorsque la voix se faisait entendre au-dessus du firmament qui était sur leurs têtes, ils s’arrêtaient et baissaient leurs ailes.
And there was a voyce from the firmament, that was ouer their heads, when they stoode, and had let downe their wings.
26 Et sur ce firmament qui était suspendu au-dessus de leurs têtes, c’était comme l’aspect d’un saphir ressemblant à un trône; et sur cette ressemblance d’un trône, une ressemblance comme l’aspect d’un homme dessus.
And aboue the firmament that was ouer their heads, was the facion of a throne like vnto a saphir stone, and vpon the similitude of the throne was by appearance, as the similitude of a man aboue vpon it.
27 Et je vis comme une espèce de succin, comme l’apparence d’un feu, au dedans de lui tout autour; depuis ses reins et au-dessus, et depuis ses reins jusqu’en bas, je vis comme une espèce de feu, resplendissant tout autour.
And I sawe as the appearance of amber, and as the similitude of fire round about within it to looke to, euen from his loynes vpwarde: and to looke to, euen from his loynes downewarde, I sawe as a likenesse of fire, and brightnesse round about it.
28 Je vis comme l’aspect de l’arc, lorsqu’il est dans une nuée au jour de la pluie; tel était l’aspect de la splendeur tout autour.
As the likenesse of the bowe, that is in the cloude in the day of raine, so was the appearance of the light round about. This was the appearance of the similitude of the glorie of the Lord: and when I sawe it, I fell vpon my face, and I heard a voyce of one that spake.
