Exode 7
1 Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Voilà que je t’ai établi le Dieu de Pharaon, et Aaron ton frère sera ton prophète.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'See, I have given thee a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron thy brother is thy prophet;
2 Toi, tu lui diras tout ce que je t’ordonne, et lui parlera à Pharaon, afin qu’il laisse les enfants d’Israël s’en aller de son pays.
thou — thou dost speak all that I command thee, and Aaron thy brother doth speak unto Pharaoh, and he hath sent the sons of Israel out of his land.
3 Mais moi j’endurcirai son cœur, et je multiplierai mes signes et mes prodiges dans la terre d’Egypte.
'And I harden the heart of Pharaoh, and have multiplied My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt,
4 Et il ne vous écoutera point: et je lancerai ma main sur l’Egypte, et je retirerai mon armée et mon peuple, les enfants d’Israël, de la terre d’Egypte par de très grands jugements.
and Pharaoh doth not hearken, and I have put My hand on Egypt, and have brought out My hosts, My people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments;
5 Et les Egyptiens sauront que c’est moi le Seigneur qui aurai étendu ma main sur l’Egypte, et retiré les enfants d’Israël du milieu d’eux.
and the Egyptians have known that I [am] Jehovah, in My stretching out My hand against Egypt; and I have brought out the sons of Israel from their midst.'
6 C’est pourquoi Moïse et Aaron firent comme avait ordonné le Seigneur: ainsi agirent-ils.
And Moses doth — Aaron also — as Jehovah commanded them; so have they done;
7 Or Moïse avait quatre-vingts ans et Aaron quatre-vingt-trois, quand ils parlèrent à Pharaon.
and Moses [is] a son of eighty years, and Aaron [is] a son of eighty and three years, in their speaking unto Pharaoh.
8 Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse et à Aaron:
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
9 Quand Pharaon vous dira: Montrez des signes, tu diras à Aaron: Prends ta verge et jette-la devant Pharaon; et elle sera changée en serpent.
'When Pharaoh speaketh unto you, saying, Give for yourselves a wonder; then thou hast said unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast before Pharaoh — it becometh a monster.'
10 Moïse donc et Aaron, étant entrés auprès de Pharaon, firent comme avait ordonné le Seigneur: Aaron jeta la verge devant Pharaon et ses serviteurs, et elle fut changée en serpent.
And Moses goeth in — Aaron also — unto Pharaoh, and they do so as Jehovah hath commanded; and Aaron casteth his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it becometh a monster.
11 Mais Pharaon appela les sages et les magiciens; et ils firent eux aussi pareillement par les enchantements égyptiens et par certains secrets.
And Pharaoh also calleth for wise men, and for sorcerers; and the scribes of Egypt, they also, with their flashings, do so,
12 Ils jetèrent chacun leur verge, et elles furent changées en serpents; mais la verge d’Aaron dévora leurs verges.
and they cast down each his rod, and they become monsters, and the rod of Aaron swalloweth their rods;
13 Et le cœur de Pharaon s’endurcit, et il n’écouta point Moïse et Aaron, comme avait ordonné le Seigneur.
and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken.
14 Or le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Le cœur de Pharaon s’est endurci; il ne veut pas laisser aller le peuple.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'The heart of Pharaoh hath been hard, he hath refused to send the people away;
15 Va vers lui dès le matin; voilà qu’il sortira pour aller vers l’eau; et tu te présenteras à sa rencontre sur la rive du fleuve: et la verge qui a été changée en serpent, tu la prendras en ta main,
go unto Pharaoh in the morning, lo, he is going out to the water, and thou hast stood to meet him by the edge of the River, and the rod which was turned to a serpent thou dost take in thy hand,
16 Et tu diras à Pharaon: Le Seigneur Dieu des Hébreux m’a envoyé vers toi, disant: Laisse aller mon peuple afin qu’il me sacrifie dans le désert, et jusqu’à présent tu n’as pas voulu écouter.
and thou hast said unto him: Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, hath sent me unto thee, saying, Send My people away, and they serve Me in the wilderness; and lo, thou hast not hearkened hitherto.
17 Voici donc ce que dit le Seigneur: En ceci tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur: voici que je frapperai de la verge qui est en ma main l’eau du fleuve, et elle sera changée en sang.
'Thus said Jehovah: By this thou knowest that I [am] Jehovah; lo, I am smiting with the rod which [is] in my hand, on the waters which [are] in the River, and they have been turned to blood,
18 Les poissons même qui sont dans le fleuve mourront; et les eaux se corrompront, et les Egyptiens qui boiront de l’eau du fleuve, souffriront beaucoup.
and the fish that [are] in the River die, and the River hath stank, and the Egyptians have been wearied of drinking waters from the River.'
19 Le Seigneur dit aussi à Moïse: Dis à Aaron: Prends ta verge, et étends ta main sur les eaux de l’Egypte, et sur leurs fleuves, et sur les ruisseaux et les marais, et sur tous les lacs des eaux, afin qu’ils soient changés en sang, et qu’il y ait ainsi du sang dans toute la terre d’Egypte, tant dans les vases de bois que dans les vases de pierre.
And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thy hand against the waters of Egypt, against their streams, against their rivers, and against their ponds, and against all their collections of waters; and they are blood — and there hath been blood in all the land of Egypt, both in [vessels of] wood, and in [those of] stone.'
20 Et Moïse et Aaron firent comme l’avait ordonné le Seigneur; et Aaron levant sa verge, frappa l’eau du fleuve devant Pharaon et ses serviteurs, et elle fut changée en sang.
And Moses and Aaron do so, as Jehovah hath commanded, and he lifteth up [his hand] with the rod, and smiteth the waters which [are] in the River, before the eyes of Pharaoh, and before the eyes of his servants, and all the waters which [are] in the River are turned to blood,
21 Et les poissons qui étaient dans le fleuve moururent; le fleuve se corrompit, et les Egyptiens ne pouvaient boire de l’eau du fleuve: et il y eut du sang dans toute la terre d’Egypte.
and the fish which [is] in the River hath died, and the River stinketh, and the Egyptians have not been able to drink water from the River; and the blood is in all the land of Egypt.
22 Les magiciens d’Egypte firent pareillement par leurs enchantements, et le cœur de Pharaon s’endurcit, et il n’écouta pas Moïse et Aaron, comme avait ordonné le Seigneur.
And the scribes of Egypt do so with their flashings, and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken,
23 Il se retira et il entra en sa maison, et ne prit pas la chose à cœur encore cette fois.
and Pharaoh turneth and goeth in unto his house, and hath not set his heart even to this;
24 Or tous les Egyptiens creusèrent autour du fleuve pour trouver de l’eau à boire; car ils ne pouvaient boire de l’eau du fleuve.
and all the Egyptians seek water round about the river to drink, for they have not been able to drink of the waters of the River.
25 Et il se passa sept jours entiers, après que le Seigneur eut frappé le fleuve.
And seven days are completed after Jehovah's smiting the River,
