Exode 34
1 Et ensuite: Taille-toi, dit-il, deux tables de pierre à l’instar des premières, et j’écrirai dessus les paroles que contenaient les tables que tu as rompues.
And he said Yahweh to Moses cut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the former [tablets] and I will write on the tablets the words which they were on the tablets the former which you shattered.
2 Sois prêt dès le matin, pour monter aussitôt sur la montagne de Sinaï, et tu te tiendras avec moi sur le sommet de la montagne.
And be prepared to the morning and you will go up in the morning to [the] mountain of Sinai and you will station yourself for me there on [the] top of the mountain.
3 Que nul ne monte avec toi, et que personne ne soit vu sur toute la montagne; que les bœufs même et les brebis ne paissent point contre.
And anyone not he will go up with you and also anyone may not he be seen on all the mountain also the sheep and the cattle may not they graze to [the] front of the mountain that.
4 Il tailla donc deux tables de pierre, comme celles qui avaient été auparavant; et se levant de nuit, il monta sur la montagne de Sinaï, comme lui avait ordonné le Seigneur, portant avec lui les tables.
And he cut out two tablets of stone like the former [tablets] and he rose early Moses in the morning and he went up to [the] mountain of Sinai just as he had commanded Yahweh him and he took in hand his two tablets of stone.
5 Et lorsque le Seigneur fut descendu dans la nuée. Moïse se tint avec lui, invoquant le nom du Seigneur.
And he came down Yahweh in the cloud and he stood with him there and he proclaimed [the] name of Yahweh.
6 Et le Seigneur passant devant lui, Moïse dit: Dominateur, Seigneur Dieu, miséricordieux et clément, patient et d’une abondante miséricorde, et très véritable,
And he passed by Yahweh - on face his and he proclaimed Yahweh - Yahweh a God compassionate and gracious long of anger and great of covenant loyalty (and faithfulness - *L(abh)*)
7 Qui gardez votre miséricorde pour des milliers de créatures; qui effacez l’iniquité, les crimes et les péchés, et nul auprès de vous n’est innocent par lui-même; qui rendez l’iniquité des pères aux fils et aux petits-fils, jusqu’à la troisième et la quatrième génération.
maintaining covenant loyalty to thousands forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin and certainly not he leaves unpunished visiting - [the] iniquity of parents on [the] children and on [the] children of children on a third generation and on a fourth generation.
8 Et aussitôt Moïse se prosterna incliné vers la terre, et adorant,
And he hurried Moses and he bowed low [the] ground towards and he bowed down.
9 Dit: Si j’ai trouvé grâce en votre présence. Seigneur, je vous conjure de marcher avec nous (car Ce peuple est d’un cou roide), d’effacer nos iniquités et nos péchés, et de nous prendre en possession.
And he said if please I have found favor in view your O Lord let him go please [the] Lord in midst our for [is] a people stiff of neck it and you will forgive iniquity our and sin our and you will take as a possession us.
10 Le Seigneur répondit: Moi, je ferai alliance, tous le voyant, je ferai des signes, qui n’ont jamais été vus sur la terre, ni dans aucune nation, afin qu’il voie, ce peuple au milieu duquel tu es, l’œuvre terrible du Seigneur que je dois faire.
And he said here! I [am] about to make a covenant before all people your I will do wonders which not they have been created in all the earth and among all the nations and it will see all the people which you [are] in midst its [the] work of Yahweh for [is] awesome it which I [am] about to do with you.
11 Observe tout ce qu’aujourd’hui je te commande; moi-même, je chasserai devant ta face l’Amorrhéen, le Chananéen, l’Héthéen, le Phérézéen aussi, l’Hévéen et le Jébuséen.
Observe for yourself [that] which I [am] commanding you this day here I [am] about to drive out from before you the Amorite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s].
12 Prends garde de ne jamais lier des amitiés avec les habitants de cette terre, lesquelles soient pour toi une ruine;
Take heed to yourself lest you should make a covenant to [the] inhabitant[s] of the land which you [are] about to go to it lest he should become a snare in midst your.
13 Mais détruis leurs autels, brise leurs statues et coupe leurs bois sacrés.
For altars their you will pull down! and sacred pillars their you will break down! and Asherah poles its you will cut down!
14 N’adore point de dieu étranger. Le Seigneur, son nom est: jaloux; Dieu est jaloux.
For not you must bow down to a god another for Yahweh [is] jealous name his [is] a God jealous he.
15 Ne fais point d’alliance avec les hommes de ces pays-là, de peur que lorsqu’ils auront forniqué avec leurs dieux, et qu’ils auront adoré leurs simulacres, quelqu’un ne t’invite à manger des victimes immolées.
Lest you should make a covenant to [the] inhabitant[s] of the land and they will prostitute themselves - after gods their and they will sacrifice to gods their and someone will invite you and you will eat some of sacrifice his.
16 Tu ne prendras point de femmes d’entre leurs filles pour tes fils, de peur qu’après qu’elles-mêmes auront forniqué, elles ne fassent forniquer aussi tes fils avec leurs dieux.
And you will take some of daughters his for sons your and they will prostitute themselves daughters his after gods their and they will make prostitute [themselves] sons your after gods their.
17 Tu ne feras point de dieux jetés en fonte.
Gods of molten metal not you must make for yourself.
18 Tu garderas la solennité des azymes. Pendant sept jours tu mangeras des azymes, comme je t’ai ordonné, au temps du mois des nouveaux fruits; car c’est au mois du printemps que tu es sorti de l’Egypte.
[the] festival of The unleavened bread you will keep seven days you will eat unleavened bread which I commanded you to [the] appointed time of [the] month of Abib for in [the] month of Abib you came out from Egypt.
19 Tout mâle qui ouvre un sein, sera à moi. Le premier-né d’entre tous les animaux, tant des bœufs que des brebis, sera à moi.
Every firstborn of a womb [belongs] to me and all livestock your it will be remembered [the] firstborn of an ox and a sheep.
20 Tu rachèteras le premier-né de l’âne avec une brebis; mais si tu ne donnes pas de rançon pour lui, il sera tué. Tu rachèteras le premier-né de tes fils; et tu ne paraîtras point devant moi les mains vides.
And [the] firstborn of a donkey you will redeem with a sheep and if not you will redeem [it] and you will break neck its all [the] firstborn of sons your you will redeem and not people will present themselves face my empty.
21 Pendant six jours tu travailleras; au septième jour, tu cesseras de labourer et de moissonner.
Six days you will labor and on the day seventh you will rest at plowing time and at harvest time you will rest.
22 Tu feras la solennité des semaines, à l’époque des prémices des fruits de ta moisson de froment, et la solennité de la récolte, quand, le temps de l’année revenant, tout se serre.
And [the] festival of weeks you will celebrate for yourself [the] first-fruits of [the] harvest of wheat and [the] festival of the ingathering [the] circuit of the year.
23 À trois époques de l’année tous tes mâles paraîtront en la présence du tout-puissant Seigneur Dieu d’Israël.
Three times in the year he will present himself every male your with [the] presence of the lord - Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
24 Car lorsque j’aurai enlevé les nations de devant ta face, et que j’aurai étendu tes limites, nul ne cherchera à surprendre ta terre, toi montant, et paraissant en la présence du Seigneur ton Dieu trois fois l’année.
For I will dispossess nations from before you and I will enlarge territory your and not he will covet anyone land your when going up you to present yourself with [the] presence of Yahweh God your three times in the year.
25 Tu ne sacrifieras point sur du levain le sang de mon hostie, et il ne restera pas le matin de la victime de la solennité de la Pâque.
Not you must slaughter with leaven [the] blood of sacrifice my and not it will remain overnight to the morning [the] sacrifice of [the] festival of the passover.
26 Tu offriras les prémices des fruits de ta terre dans la maison du Seigneur ton Dieu. Tu ne feras point cuire un chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.
[the] first of [the] first-fruits of Ground your you will bring [the] house of Yahweh God your not you will boil a kid in [the] milk of mother its.
27 Le Seigneur dit encore à Moïse: Ecris pour toi ces paroles par lesquelles j’ai fait alliance et avec toi et avec Israël.
And he said Yahweh to Moses write for yourself the words these that on [the] mouth of - the words these I have made with you a covenant and with Israel.
28 Il fut donc là avec le Seigneur quarante jours et quarante nuits: il ne mangea point de pain et il ne but point d’eau, et il écrivit sur les tables les dix paroles de l’alliance.
And he was there with Yahweh forty day[s] and forty night[s] food not he ate and water not he drank and he wrote on the tablets [the] words of the covenant [the] ten the words.
29 Et lorsque Moïse descendait de la montagne de Sinaï, il tenait les deux tables du témoignage, et il ignorait que sa face était rayonnante de lumière, depuis l’entretien du Seigneur avec lui.
And it was when came down Moses from [the] mountain of Sinai and [the] two [the] tablets of the testimony [were] in [the] hand of Moses when came down he from the mountain and Moses not he knew that it shone [the] skin of face his because had spoken he with him.
30 Or Aaron et les enfants d’Israël, voyant la face de Moïse rayonnante, craignirent de s’approcher.
And he saw Aaron and all [the] people of Israel Moses and there! it shone [the] skin of face his and they were afraid from drawing near to him.
31 Mais appelés par lui, ils revinrent, tant Aaron que les princes de la synagogue. Et après qu’il leur eut parlé,
And he summoned them Moses and they returned to him Aaron and all the leaders among the congregation and he spoke Moses to them.
32 Vinrent aussi vers lui tous les enfants d’Israël, auxquels il ordonna toutes les choses qu’il avait entendues du Seigneur sur la montagne de Sinaï.
And after thus they drew near all [the] people of Israel and he commanded them all that he had spoken Yahweh with him on [the] mountain of Sinai.
33 Et, ces discours achevés, il mit un voile sur sa face.
And he finished Moses from speaking with them and he put over face his a veil.
34 Entré auprès du Seigneur, et parlant avec lui, il ôtait ce voile jusqu’à ce qu’il en sortît, et c’est alors qu’il disait aux enfants d’Israël toutes les choses qui lui avaient été commandées.
And when went Moses before Yahweh to speak with him he removed the veil until came out he and he came out and he spoke to [the] people of Israel [that] which he was commanded.
35 Ceux-ci voyaient que la face de Moïse rayonnait, lorsqu’il sortait, mais lui la voilait de nouveau, s’il avait à leur parler.
And they saw [the] people of Israel [the] face of Moses that it shone [the] skin of [the] face of Moses and he returned Moses the veil over face his until went he to speak with him.
