Exode 31

1 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:

Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

2 Voici, j’ai appelé nommément Béséléel, fils d’Uri, fils de Hur de la tribu de Juda,

See, I have called by name, Bezaleel, son of Uri, son of Hur of the tribe of Judah;

3 Et je l’ai rempli de l’esprit de Dieu, de sagesse, d’intelligence et de science pour toute sorte d’ouvrage,

and have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and in understanding, and in knowledge and in all manner of workmanship;

4 Pour inventer tout ce qui peut se faire par l’art avec l’or, l’argent et l’airain,

to devise skilful designs, to work in gold and in silver, and in bronze;

5 Avec du marbre, des pierres précieuses et divers bois.

and in the cutting of stones for setting, and in the carving of wood, —to work in all manner of workmanship,

6 Et je lui ai donné pour compagnon Ooliab, fils d’Achisamech de la tribu de Dan. Et dans le cœur de tout ouvrier habile j’ai mis de la sagesse, afin qu’ils fassent tout ce que je t’ai ordonné:

I myself, therefore, lo! I have given with him Oholiab, son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan, and in the heart of every one that is wise-hearted, have I put wisdom, —so shall they make all that I have commanded thee—

7 Le tabernacle d’alliance, l’arche de témoignage, le propitiatoire qui est dessus, et tous les vases du tabernacle;

the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony; and the propitiatory which is thereupon, and all the utensils of the tent;

8 La table et ses vases, le chandelier très pur avec ses vases, et les autels du parfum à brûler,

and the table, and its utensils, and the pure lampstand, and all its utensils, —and the incense altar;

9 Et de l’holocauste et tous leurs vases, le bassin avec sa base;

and the altar for the ascending-sacrifice, and all its utensils, and the laver, and its stand;

10 Les vêtements saints du ministère pour Aaron, le grand-prêtre et ses fils, afin qu’ils s’acquittent de leur office dans les choses sacrées;

and the cloths of variegated stuff, and the holy garments, for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for ministering as priests;

11 L’huile de l’onction, le parfum à brûler composé d’aromates pour le sanctuaire: ainsi, ils feront tout ce que je t’ai ordonné.

and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the holy place, according to all which I have commanded thee, shall they do.

12 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:

Then spake Yahweh unto Moses saying—

13 Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras: Ayez soin de garder mon sabbat, parce qu’il est un signe entre moi et vous en vos générations, afin que vous sachiez que c’est moi, le Seigneur, qui vous sanctifie.

Thou thyself, therefore, speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, Surely, my sabbaths, shall ye keep, for, a sign it is betwixt me and you to your generations, that ye may know that I Yahweh do hallow you.

14 Gardez mon sabbat, car il est saint pour vous: celui qui le profanera mourra de mort; celui qui travaillera en ce jour-là, son âme périra du milieu de son peuple.

Therefore shall ye keep the sabbath, for holy, it is unto you, he that profaneth it shall be surely put to death; verily whosoever doeth therein any work that soul shall be cut off from the midst of its people:

15 Pendant six jours vous travaillerez, au septième jour c’est un sabbat, repos saint pour le Seigneur, quiconque travaillera en ce jour-là, mourra.

Six days, shall work be done, but on the seventh day, is a holy sabbath-keeping of rest unto Yahweh, —whosoever doeth work on the sabbath day, shall be, surely put to death.

16 Que les enfants d’Israël gardent le sabbat, et qu’ils le célèbrent en leurs générations. C’est un pacte éternel

Therefore shall the sons of Israel keep the sabbath, —by making it a Day of Rest to your generations, as an age-abiding covenant:

17 Entre moi et les enfants d’Israël et un signe perpétuel; car c’est en six jours que le Seigneur a fait le ciel et la terre, et au septième il a cessé son œuvre.

between me and the sons of Israel, a sign it is unto times age-abiding, —for in six days, did Yahweh make the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day, he rested, and was refreshed.

18 Or, le Seigneur ayant achevé les discours de cette sorte sur la montagne de Sinaï, donna à Moïse les deux tables de pierre du témoignage, écrites du doigt de Dieu.

Then gave he unto Moses, as he finished speaking with him in Mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, —tables of stone, written with the finger of God,
