Exode 12
1 Le Seigneur dit aussi à Moïse et à Aaron dans la terre d’Egypte:
And the Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Ce mois sera pour vous le commencement des mois: il sera le premier dans les mois de l’année.
This month shall be unto you the chief of months: the first shall it be unto you of the months of the year.
3 Parlez à toute l’assemblée des enfants d’Israël, et dites-leur: Au dixième jour de ce mois, que chacun prenne un agneau par chacune de ses familles et de ses maisons.
Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, On the tenth day of this month they shall take to themselves every man a lamb for every family, a lamb for every house:
4 Mais si le nombre est trop petit pour qu’il puisse suffire à manger l’agneau, il prendra son voisin qui est proche de sa maison, selon le nombre des âmes qui peuvent suffire à manger l’agneau.
And if the household be too small for a lamb, then shall he take it with his neighbor who is next unto his house, according to the number of the souls; every man according to what he eateth shall ye make a count for the lamb.
5 Or l’agneau sera sans tache, mâle, ayant un an. Conformément à ce rite vous prendrez aussi un chevreau.
A lamb without blemish, a male of the first year shall ye have; from the sheep, or from the goats may ye take it.
6 Et vous le garderez jusqu’au quatorzième jour de ce mois; et toute la multitude des enfants d’Israël l’immolera vers le soir.
And ye shall have it in keeping until the fourteenth day of the same month; and then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it toward evening.
7 Ils prendront de son sang, et ils en mettront sur les deux poteaux et sur les linteaux des maisons, en lesquelles ils les mangeront.
And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the upper door-post, in the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 Et ils mangeront cette nuit-là les chairs rôties au feu avec des pains azymes et avec des laitues sauvages.
And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted by the fire, with unleavened bread; together with bitter herbs shall they eat it.
9 Vous n’en mangerez rien cru, ni cuit dans l’eau, mais seulement rôti au feu; vous en mangerez la tête avec les pieds et les intestins.
You shall not eat of it raw, nor in any wise sodden with water; but roasted by the fire; its head with its legs, and with its entrails.
10 Il n’en demeurera rien jusqu’au matin: s’il y a quelque reste, vous le brûlerez au feu.
And ye shall not let any thing of it remain until morning; and that which remaineth of it until morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 Or c’est ainsi que vous le mangerez: Vous ceindrez vos reins; et vous aurez votre chaussure à vos pieds, tenant un bâton en vos mains, et vous mangerez à la hâte; car c’est la Pâque, (c’est-à-dire) le passage du Seigneur.
And thus shall ye eat it, With your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste, it is passover unto the Lord.
12 Et je passerai par la terre d’Egypte cette nuit-là, et je frapperai tout premier-né dans la terre d’Egypte, depuis l’homme jusqu’au bétail, et sur tous les dieux de l’Egypte j’exercerai des jugements, moi le Seigneur.
And I will pass through the land of Egypt in this night, and I will smite every first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt will I execute judgments: I am the Lord.
13 Or le sang sera un signe en votre faveur dans les maisons où vous serez; car je verrai le sang, et je passerai au-delà de vous; et la plaie de destruction ne vous atteindra pas lorsque je frapperai la terre d’Egypte.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and there shall be no plague against you to destroy, when I smite [others] in the land of Egypt.
14 Ce jour sera pour vous un monument, et vous le célébrerez dans vos générations comme consacré au Seigneur par un culte éternel.
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall celebrate it as a feast unto the Lord; throughout your generations, as an ordinance for ever shall ye celebrate it.
15 Pendant sept jours vous mangerez des azymes: dès le premier jour il n’y aura point de levain dans vos maisons; quiconque mangera du pain levé, depuis le premier jour jusqu’au septième jour, son âme périra du milieu d’Israël.
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; but on the first day ye shall have put away leaven out of your houses; for whosoever eateth leavened bread, that soul shall be cut off from Israel, from the first day until the seventh day.
16 Le premier jour sera saint et solennel, et le septième jour sera vénérable par la même solennité: vous ne ferez aucun travail en ces jours-là, excepté ce qui regarde la nourriture.
And on the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done on them, save what is eaten by every man, that only may be prepared by you.
17 Vous observerez donc la fête des Azymes; car c’est en ce même jour que je conduirai votre armée hors de la terre d’Egypte: ainsi vous garderez ce jour en vos générations par un rite perpétuel.
And ye shall observe the unleavened bread; for on this selfsame day have I brought forth your armies out of the land of Egypt; therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations as an ordinance for ever.
18 Au premier mois, le quatorzième jour du mois, vers le soir, vous mangerez des azymes jusqu’au vingt-unième jour du même mois, vers le soir.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, shall ye eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at evening.
19 Sept jours durant, on ne trouvera point de levain dans vos maisons: celui qui mangera du pain levé, son âme périra du milieu de l’assemblée d’Israël, qu’il soit étranger ou naturel du pays.
Seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses; for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or one born in the land.
20 Vous ne mangerez rien de fermenté; dans toutes vos habitations vous mangerez des azymes.
Nothing that is leavened shall ye eat; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
21 Or Moïse appela tous les anciens des enfants d’Israël et leur dit: Allez, et prenez un animal par chacune de vos familles, et immolez la Pâque.
And Moses called for the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and kill the passover sacrifice.
22 Trempez un bouquet d’hysope dans le sang qui est sur le seuil de la porte, et vous en aspergerez le linteau et les deux poteaux, et que nul de vous ne sorte hors de la porte de sa maison jusqu’au matin.
And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out frown the door of his house until the morning.
23 Car le Seigneur passera frappant les Egyptiens; et lorsqu’il verra le sang sur le linteau et sur les poteaux, il passera au-delà de la porte de la maison, et il ne permettra pas que le destructeur entre dans vos maisons et vous frappe.
And the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite.
24 Garde cette parole comme une loi éternelle pour toi et pour tes enfants.
And ye shall observe this thing, as an ordinance for thee and for thy sons for ever.
25 Et lorsque vous serez entrés dans le pays que le Seigneur doit vous donner, comme il a promis, vous observerez ces cérémonies.
And it shall come to pass, when ye be come into the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26 Et quand vos enfants vous demanderont: Quel est ce culte religieux?
And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27 Vous leur direz: C’est la victime du passage du Seigneur, quand il passa par-dessus les maisons des enfants d’Israël en Egypte, frappant les Egyptiens, et préservant nos maisons. Alors le peuple profondément incliné adora.
That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the passover unto the Lord, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and our houses he spared; and the people bent the head and bowed themselves.
28 Et étant sortis, les enfants d’Israël firent comme le Seigneur avait ordonné à Moïse et à Aaron.
And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
29 Or il arriva au milieu de la nuit que le Seigneur frappa tous les premiers-nés dans la terre d’Egypte, depuis le premier-né de Pharaon qui était assis sur son trône, jusqu’au premier-né de la captive qui était en prison, et tout premier-né des bêtes.
And it came to pass at midnight, that the Lord smote every first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that was to sit on his throne unto the first-born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the first-born of cattle.
30 Et Pharaon se leva la nuit, et tous ses serviteurs et tout son peuple, et il s’éleva un grand cri en Egypte, car il n’était pas de maison dans laquelle ne gésît un mort.
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not some one dead.
31 Pharaon ayant donc appelé Moïse et Aaron pendant la nuit, leur dit: Levez-vous, et sortez du milieu de mon peuple, vous et les enfants d’Israël; allez, sacrifiez au Seigneur, comme vous dites.
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Eternal, as ye have spoken.
32 Prenez aussi vos brebis et votre gros bétail, comme vous aviez demandé, et vous en allant, bénissez-moi.
Also your flocks and your herds take, as ye have spoken, and be gone; and bless me also.
33 Et les Egyptiens pressaient le peuple de sortir de leur pays promptement, disant; Nous mourrons tous.
And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to make haste to send them away out of the land; for they said, We are all dying.
34 Le peuple prit donc de la farine pétrie avant qu’elle fût levée, et la liant dans les manteaux, il la mit sur ses épaules.
And the people took up their dough before it was yet leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
35 Alors les enfants d’Israël firent comme avait ordonné Moïse; et ils demandèrent aux Egyptiens des vases d’argent et d’or et beaucoup de vêtements.
And the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses; and they had asked of the Egyptians vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments.
36 Or le Seigneur fit trouver grâce au peuple devant les Egyptiens, pour qu’ils les leur prêtassent; et ils dépouillèrent les Egyptiens.
And the Lord had given the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, so that they gave unto them what they required; and they emptied out Egypt.
37 Et les enfants d’Israël partirent de Ramessès pour Socoth, environ six cent mille hommes de pied, sans les petits enfants.
And the children of Israel journeyed from Ra'meses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.
38 Mais une foule innombrable de gens de toute espèce monta avec eux, ainsi que des brebis, du gros bétail et des animaux de divers genres en très grand nombre.
And a mixed multitude also went up with them; and flocks, and herds, a very large amount of cattle.
39 Ils firent cuire aussi la farine qu’ils avaient apportée d’Egypte déjà toute pétrie, et firent des pains azymes cuits sous la cendre; car il? ne pouvaient fermenter, les Egyptiens les forçant de partir, et ne leur permettant de prendre aucun délai; et ils n’avaient pas eu la facilité d’apprêter aucun aliment.
And they baked of the dough, which they had brought forth out of Egypt, unleavened cakes, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared any provisions for themselves.
40 Or l’habitation des enfants d’Israël pendant qu’ils demeurèrent en Egypte, fut de quatre cent trente ans.
Now the time of the residence of the children of Israel, which they dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
41 Lesquels accomplis, toute l’armée du Seigneur sortit le même jour de la terre d’Egypte.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, and it happened even on the selfsame day, that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
42 Cette nuit doit être observée en l’honneur du Seigneur, quand il les retira de la terre d’Egypte, et tous les enfants d’Israël doivent l’observer dans leurs générations.
A night to be observed was this unto the Lord to bring them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night holy to the Lord, to be observed by all the children of Israel in their generations.
43 Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse et à Aaron: Voici le rite de la Pâque: Aucun étranger n’en mangera.
And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: No stranger shall eat thereof.
44 Mais tout esclave acheté sera circoncis, et alors il en mangera.
But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45 L’étranger et le mercenaire n’en mangeront point.
A resident foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat thereof.
46 C’est dans une même maison qu’on la mangera; et vous ne porterez point de sa chair au dehors, et vous n’en romprez aucun os.
In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth aught of the flesh abroad out of the house; and no bone shall ye break in it.
47 Toute l’assemblée d’Israël la fera.
All the congregation of Israel shall prepare it.
48 Que si quelqu’un des étrangers veut entrer dans votre colonie et faire la Pâque du Seigneur, tous ses enfants mâles seront circoncis auparavant, et alors il la célébrera selon le rite; et il sera comme un naturel du pays; mais si quelqu’un n’a pas été circoncis, il n’en mangera pas.
And when a stranger sojourneth with thee, and will prepare the passover to the Lord, let his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and prepare it, and he shall be as one that is born in the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
49 La même loi sera pour l’indigène et pour le colon qui séjournent chez vous.
One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
50 Et tous les enfants d’Israël firent comme avait ordonné le Seigneur à Moïse et à Aaron.
And all the children of Israel did so; as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
51 Et le même jour le Seigneur retira les enfants d’Israël de la terre d’Egypte, selon leurs bandes.
And it came to pass on the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
