Esther 10

1 Or le roi Assuérus rendit toute la terre et toutes les îles de la mer tributaires.

And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.

2 Sa force, et son empire, et la dignité et la grandeur à laquelle il éleva Mardochée, sont écrits dans les livres des Mèdes et des Perses;

And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 Et comme Mardochée, de la race judaïque, devint le second après le roi Assuérus, grand parmi les Juifs, et agréable à la foule de ses frères, cherchant le bien pour son peuple, et ne disant que ce qui intéressait la paix de sa race.

For Mordecai the Jew was next to king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the welfare of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
