Deutéronome 27
1 Or Moïse ordonna, et les anciens d’Israël, disant au peuple: Gardez tous les commandements que je vous prescris aujourd’hui.
And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people saying, —Observe all the commandment which I am commanding you to-day.
2 Et lorsque vous aurez passé du Jourdain dans la terre que le Seigneur ton Dieu te donnera, ta érigeras de grandes pierres, et tu les enduiras de chaux,
So then it shall be in the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan, into the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, —that thou shalt rear thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster;
3 Afin que tu puisses y écrire toutes les paroles de cette loi, le Jourdain passé, pour que tu entres dans la terre que le Seigneur ton Dieu te donnera, terre où coulent du lait et du miel, comme il a juré à tes pères.
and shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou shalt pass over, —to the end that thou mayest enter upon the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee.
4 Quand donc vous aurez passé le Jourdain, érigez les pierres que moi, je vous prescris aujourd’hui, sur le mont Hébal, et tu les enduiras de chaux;
So then it shall be when ye shall pass over the Jordan, that ye shall rear up these stones which I am commanding you to-day in Mount Ebal, —and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
5 Et tu bâtiras là un autel au Seigneur ton Dieu, avec des pierres que le fer n’aura pas touchées,
And thou shalt build there an altar unto Yahweh thy God, —an altar of stones, thou shalt not wield thereupon any tool of iron.
6 Des pierres informes et. non polies; et tu offriras sur cet autel des holocaustes au Seigneur ton Dieu.
Of whole stones, shalt thou build the altar of Yahweh thy God, —then shalt thou cause to go up thereon ascending-sacrifices, unto Yahweh thy God;
7 Et tu immoleras des hosties pacifiques, et tu mangeras là, et tu feras des festins devant le Seigneur ton Dieu.
and thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings and shalt eat there, —and rejoice before Yahweh thy God.
8 Et tu écriras sur les pierres toutes les paroles de cette loi nettement et clairement.
And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law doing it plainly and well.
9 Alors Moïse et les prêtres de la race lévitique dirent à tout Israël: Sois attentif, et écoute, ô Israël: tu as été fait aujourd’hui le peuple du Seigneur ton Dieu;
And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel saying, —Keep silence and hear O Israel, This day, hast thou been made a people unto Yahweh thy God.
10 Tu écouteras sa voix, et tu pratiqueras les commandements et les lois que moi, je te prescris.
Thou shalt therefore hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, —and do his commandments and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day.
11 Or, Moïse ordonna au peuple, en ce jour-là, disant:
And Moses commanded the people on that day, saying:
12 Ceux-ci se tiendront pour bénir le peuple, sur le mont Garizim, le Jourdain passé: Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph et Benjamin.
These, shall stand to bless the people upon Mount Gerizim, when ye have passed over the Jordan, —Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Joseph and Benjamin;
13 Et vis-à-vis, ceux-ci se tiendront pour maudire sur le mont Hébal: Ruben, Gad, Aser, Zabulon, Dan et Nephthali.
and, these, shall stand by the curse in Mount Ebal, —Reuben Gad and Asher, and Zebulun Dan and Naphtali.
14 Et les Lévites prononceront, et diront à tous les hommes d’Israël, à haute voix:
Then shall the Levites respond and say unto every man of Israel with voice uplifted: —
15 Maudit l’homme qui fait une image taillée au ciseau, et une idole de fonte, l’abomination du Seigneur, l’œuvre des mains des artisans, et qui la mettra dans un lieu secret! et tout le peuple répondra, et dira: Amen.
Cursed, be the man that maketh an image—cut or molten—an abomination unto Yahweh the work of the hands of the craftsman and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall respond and say—Amen.
16 Maudit celui qui n’honore point son père et sa mère! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that holdeth in light esteem his father or his mother. And all the people shall say—Amen.
17 Maudit celui qui déplace les bornes de son prochain! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that moveth back the boundary of his neighbour. And all the people shall say—Amen.
18 Maudit celui qui fait égarer un aveugle dans le chemin! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that causeth the blind to wander in the way. And all the people shall say—Amen.
19 Maudit celui qui pervertit le jugement d’un étranger, d’un orphelin et d’une veuve! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that perverteth the right of the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow. And all the people shall say—Amen.
20 Maudit celui qui dort avec la femme de son père, et découvre la couverture de son lit! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that lieth with his father’s wife, because he hath turned aside his father’s coverlet. And all the people shall say—Amen.
21 Maudit celui qui dort avec une bête quelconque! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that lieth with any beast. And all the people shall say—Amen.
22 Maudit celui qui dort avec sa sœur, fille de son père ou de sa mère! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that lieth with his sister, daughter of his father or daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say—Amen.
23 Maudit celui qui dort avec sa belle-mère! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that lieth with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say—Amen.
24 Maudit celui qui frappe en secret son prochain! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say—Amen.
25 Maudit celui qui reçoit des présents pour verser un sang innocent! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that taketh a bribe to shed innocent blood. And all the people shall say—Amen.
26 Maudit celui qui ne persévère pas dans les paroles de cette loi, et ne les accomplit point par ses œuvres! et tout le peuple dira: Amen.
Cursed, be he that establisheth not the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say—Amen.
