Deutéronome 26

1 Lorsque tu seras entré dans la terre que le Seigneur ton Dieu va le donner pour la posséder, que tu l’auras conquise et que tu auras habité en elle,

And it shall come to pass, when thou art come in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and thou hast taken possession of it, and dwellest therein:

2 Tu prendras les prémices de tous tes fruits, tu les mettras dans la corbeille, et tu iras au lieu que le Seigneur ton Dieu aura choisi, afin que son nom y soit invoqué,

That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the soil, which thou shalt bring in from thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket; and thou shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God will choose to let his name dwell there.

3 Et tu t’approcheras du prêtre qu’il y aura en ces jours-là, et tu lui diras: Je déclare hautement aujourd’hui, en présence du Seigneur ton Dieu, que je suis entré dans la terre, au sujet de laquelle il a juré à nos pères qu’il nous la donnerait.

And thou shalt come unto the priest that may be in those days, and thou shalt say unto him, I give thanks this day unto the Lord thy God, that I am come into the land which the Lord swore unto our fathers to give to us.

4 Alors le prêtre prenant la corbeille de ta main, la déposera devant l’autel du Seigneur ton Dieu,

And the priest shall take the basket out of thy hand, and set it down before the altar of the Lord thy God.

5 Et tu diras en présence du Seigneur ton Dieu: Un Syrien poursuivait mon père, qui descendit en Egypte, et là, il séjourna avec un très petit nombre d’hommes; mais il forma une nation grande, forte et nombreuse à l’infini.

And thou shalt commence and say before the Lord thy God, A Syrian, wandering about, was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a family few in number, and he became there a nation, great, mighty, and numerous.

6 Mais les Egyptiens nous affligèrent et nous persécutèrent, nous imposant des fardeaux très lourds,

And the Egyptians treated us ill, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard labor;

7 Alors nous criâmes au Seigneur le Dieu de nos pères, qui nous exauça, et regarda notre humiliation, notre labeur, et notre angoisse;

And then we cried unto the Eternal, the God of our fathers; and the Lord heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our trouble, and our oppression;

8 Et il nous retira de l’Egypte par une main forte et un bras étendu, par une grande terreur, des signes et des prodiges;

And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror, and with signs, and with wonders;

9 Puis il nous a introduits en ce lieu et nous a livré cette terre, où coulent du lait et du miel.

And he brought us unto this place, and gave unto us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

10 Et c’est pour cela que maintenant j’offre les prémices des fruits de la terre, que le Seigneur m’a donnée. Et tu les laisseras en la présence du Seigneur ton Dieu, et adore le Seigneur ton Dieu.

And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruits of the soil, which thou hast given me, O Lord; and thou shalt set it down before the Lord thy God, and prostrate thyself before the Lord thy God;

11 Et tu feras un festin de tous les biens que le Seigneur ton Dieu t’aura donnés, à toi et à ta maison, toi et le Lévite et l’étranger qui est avec toi.

And thou shalt rejoice with every good thing which the Lord thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thy house, thou, with the Levite, and the stranger that is in the midst of thee.

12 Quand tu auras accompli la dîme de tous tes fruits, à la troisième année des décimes, tu les donneras au Lévite, à l’étranger, à l’orphelin et à la veuve, afin qu’ils les mangent au dedans de tes portes, et qu’ils soient rassasiés;

When thou hast made an end of giving away all the tithe of thy produce in the third year, the year of the tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, and they have eaten it within thy gates, and are satisfied:

13 Et tu diras en la présence du Seigneur ton Dieu: J’ai ôté de ma maison ce qui était consacré, et je l’ai donné au Lévite, à l’étranger, à l’orphelin et à la veuve, comme vous m’avez ordonné; je n’ai pas négligé vos commandements, et n’ai pas oublié votre ordre.

Then shalt thou say before the Lord thy God, I have removed away the hallowed things out of the house, and I have also given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me; I have not deviated from thy commandments, and I have not forgotten;

14 Je n’ai pas mangé de ces choses pendant mon deuil, je ne les ai mises à part pour aucun usage profane, et je n’en ai rien employé dans les funérailles. J’ai obéi à la voix du Seigneur mon Dieu et j’ai fait toutes choses, comme vous m’avez ordonné.

I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I removed away aught thereof in an unclean state, nor have I given aught thereof for the dead: I have hearkened to the voice of the Lord my God, I have done all, just as thou hast commanded me.

15 Regardez de votre sanctuaire, du haut des cieux, votre demeure, et bénissez votre peuple d’Israël, et la terre que vous nous avez donnée, comme vous avez juré à nos pères, terre où coulent du lait et du miel.

Look down from the habitation of thy holiness, from the heavens, and bless thy people Israel, and the soil which thou hast given unto us, as thou hast sworn unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

16 Aujourd’hui le Seigneur ton Dieu t’a ordonné d’exécuter ces commandements et ces ordonnances, de les garder et de les accomplir de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.

This day the Lord thy God commandeth thee to do these statutes and ordinances; and thou shalt keep and do them with all thy heart, and with all thy soul.

17 Tu as choisi aujourd’hui le Seigneur, afin qu’il soit ton Dieu, afin que tu marches dans ses voies, et que tu gardes ses cérémonies, ses commandements et ses ordonnances, et que tu obéisses à son ordre;

Thou hast this day acknowledged the Lord, that he is thy God, and that thou wilt walk in his ways, and keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and hearken unto his voice;

18 Et le Seigneur t’a choisi aujourd’hui, afin que tu sois son peuple particulier, comme il t’a dit, et que tu gardes tous ses préceptes,

And the Lord hath acknowledged thee this day, that thou art unto him a peculiar people, as he hath spoken unto thee, and that thou shouldst keep all his commandments;

19 Et qu’il t’élève au-dessus de toutes les nations qu’il a créées pour sa louange, son nom et sa gloire; afin que tu sois le peuple saint du Seigneur ton Dieu, comme il a dit.

So that he may set thee highest above all nations that he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honor; and that thou mayest be a holy people unto the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken.
