Deutéronome 16

1 Observe le mois des nouveaux grains, qui est le premier du printemps, afin que tu fasses la Pâque du Seigneur ton Dieu, parce que c’est en ce mois que le Seigneur ton Dieu t’a retiré de l’Egypte pendant la nuit.

Observe the month of Abib, and prepare the passover-sacrifice unto the Lord thy God; for in the month of Abib did the Lord thy God bring thee forth out of Egypt by night.

2 Ainsi, tu immoleras pour la Pâque du Seigneur ton Dieu, des brebis et des bœufs, au lieu qu’aura choisi le Seigneur ton Dieu pour que son nom y habite.

And thou shalt sacrifice the passover-offering unto the Lord thy God of sheep and oxen, in the place which the Lord will choose to let his name dwell there.

3 Tu n’y mangeras point de pain fermenté: pendant sept jours tu mangeras sans levain du pain d’affliction, parce que c’est dans la frayeur que tu es sorti de l’Egypte, afin que tu te souviennes du jour de ta sortie de l’Egypte, tous les jours de ta vie.

Thou shalt not eat therewith any leavened bread: seven days shalt thou eat therewith unleavened bread, the bread of affliction; for in haste didst thou go forth out of the land of Egypt; in order that thou mayest remember the day of thy going forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

4 Il ne paraîtra point de levain dans tous tes confins, pendant sept jours, et il ne restera point de la chair de la victime qui aura été immolée le soir, au premier jour, jusqu’au matin.

And there shall not be seen with thee any leaven in all thy borders seven days: neither shall there any of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst in the evening, on the first day, remain all night until the morning.

5 Tu ne pourras immoler la Pâque dans toutes les villes que le Seigneur ton Dieu doit te donner;

Thou mayest not slay the passover within any of thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee;

6 Mais dans le lieu que le Seigneur ton Dieu aura choisi pour que son nom y habite, tu immoleras la Pâque, le soir, au coucher du soleil, temps où tu es sorti de l’Egypte.

But at the place which the Lord thy God will choose to let his name dwell in, there shalt thou slay the passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

7 Et tu feras cuire et tu mangeras la victime au lieu qu’aura choisi le Seigneur ton Dieu, et le matin, te levant, tu iras dans tes tabernacles.

And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which the Lord thy God will choose; and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.

8 Durant six jours tu mangeras des azymes, et au septième jour, parce que c’est la réunion du Seigneur ton Dieu, tu ne feras point d’ouvrage.

Six days shalt thou eat unleavened bread; and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the Lord thy God: thou shalt do no work.

9 Tu compteras sept semaines depuis le jour que tu auras mis la faux dans la moisson.

Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thyself: from the time thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn, shalt thou begin to number seven weeks.

10 Et tu célébreras la fête des semaines en l’honneur du Seigneur ton Dieu, oblation spontanée de ta main, que tu offriras selon la bénédiction du Seigneur ton Dieu;

And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a freewill-offering of thy hand, which thou shalt give: according as the Lord thy God shall have blessed thee.

11 Et tu feras des festins devant le Seigneur ton Dieu, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, et le Lévite qui est au dedans de tes portes, l’étranger, l’orphelin et la veuve, qui demeurent avec vous, au lieu qu’aura choisi le Seigneur ton Dieu, pour que son nom y habite;

And thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are in the midst of thee, in the place which the Lord thy God will choose to let his name dwell there.

12 Et tu le souviendras que tu as été esclave en Egypte, et tu garderas et tu pratiqueras ce qui a été ordonné.

And thou shalt remember that thou hast been a bond-man in Egypt; and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

13 Et aussi la solennité des tabernacles, tu la célébreras pendant sept jours, quand tu auras recueilli de l’aire et du pressoir tes fruits des champs.

The feast of tabernacles shalt thou hold for thyself seven days, when thou hast gathered in the produce of thy threshing-floor and of thy wine-press:

14 Et tu feras des festins en ta solennité, loi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, le Lévite aussi et l’étranger, l’orphelin et la veuve qui sont au dedans de tes portes.

And thou shalt rejoice on thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.

15 Pendant sept jours tu célébreras des fêtes en l’honneur du Seigneur ton Dieu, au lieu qu’aura choisi le Seigneur; et le Seigneur ton Dieu te bénira dans tous les fruits des champs, et en toute œuvre de tes mains, et tu seras dans la joie.

Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord will choose; because the Lord thy God will bless thee in all thy product, and in all the work of thy hands, and thou shalt only rejoice.

16 Trois fois par an tous tes enfants mâles paraîtront en la présence du Seigneur ton Dieu, au lieu qu’il aura choisi: à la solennité des azymes, à la solennité des semaines, et à la solennité des tabernacles. Ils ne paraîtront point devant le Seigneur, les mains vides;

Three times in the year shall every one of thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he will choose: on the feast of unleavened bread, and on the feast of weeks, and on the feast of tabernacles; and no one shall appear before the Lord empty;

17 Mais chacun offrira suivant ce qu’il aura, selon la bénédiction que le Seigneur son Dieu lui aura donnée.

Every man according to what his hand can give, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee.

18 Tu établiras des juges et des magistrats à toutes tes portes, que le Seigneur ton Dieu t’aura données, dans chacune de tes tribus, afin qu’ils jugent le peuple par un juste jugement,

Judges and officers shalt thou appoint unto thyself in all thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with a just judgment.

19 Et qu’ils n’inclinent point vers un côté. Tu ne feras point acception de personne, tu ne recevras point de présents, parce que les présents aveuglent les yeux des sages, et changent les paroles des justes.

Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, and thou shalt not take a bribe; for the bribe blindeth the eyes of the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

20 Tu rechercheras justement ce qui est juste, afin que tu vives et que tu possèdes la terre que le Seigneur ton Dieu t’aura donnée.

Justice, only justice shalt thou pursue; in order that thou mayest live, and retain possession of the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

21 Tu ne planteras point de bois, ni aucun arbre près de l’autel du Seigneur ton Dieu.

Thou shalt not plant unto thyself a grove, any tree, near the altar of the Lord thy God, which thou shalt make unto thyself.

22 Tu ne te feras point et tu ne dresseras point de statue: choses que hait le Seigneur ton Dieu.

Neither shalt thou set thee up any statue, which the Lord thy God hateth.
