Colossiens 1

1 Paul, apôtre de Jésus-Christ par la volonté de Dieu, et Timothée son frère;

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy [our] brother,

2 Aux saints et aux frères fidèles en Jésus-Christ qui sont à Colosse,

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colosse: Grace [be] to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Grâce à vous et paix par Dieu notre Père, et par Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Nous rendons grâces à Dieu le Père de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, priant sans cesse pour vous;

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

4 Depuis que nous avons appris votre foi dans le Christ Jésus, et la charité que vous avez pour tous les saints,

Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love [which ye have] to all the saints,

5 À cause de l’espérance qui vous est réservée dans les cieux, et dont vous avez eu connaissance par la parole de la vérité de l’Evangile,

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which ye have heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

6 Qui vous est parvenu, comme il est aussi répandu dans le monde entier, où il fructifie et croît, ainsi qu’en vous, depuis le jour où vous l’avez entendu, et où vous avez connu la grâce de Dieu dans la vérité;

Which is come to you, as [it is] in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as [it doth] also in you, since the day ye heard [of it], and knew the grace of God in truth:

7 Selon que vous l’avez appris du très cher Epaphras, notre compagnon dans le service de Dieu et ministre fidèle du Christ Jésus à votre égard;

As ye also learned from Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

8 Lequel nous a fait connaître aussi votre charité toute spirituelle.

Who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

9 C’est pourquoi, du jour où nous l’avons appris, nous ne cessons de prier pour vous, et de demander à Dieu que vous soyez remplis de la connaissance de sa volonté, en toute sagesse et intelligence spirituelle;

For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 Afin que vous marchiez d une manière digne de Dieu, lui plaisant en toutes choses, fructifiant en toutes sortes de bonnes œuvres, et croissant dans la science de Dieu;

That ye may walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Corroborés de toute force par la puissance de sa gloire, de toute patience et de toute longanimité accompagnée de joie;

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;

12 Rendant grâces à Dieu le Père qui nous a fait dignes d’avoir part à l’héritage des saints dans la lumière;

Giving thanks to the Father, who hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Qui nous a arrachés de la puissance des ténèbres, et transférés dans le royaume du Fils de sa dilection,

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his beloved Son:

14 En qui nous avons la rédemption par son sang, la rémission des péchés;

In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:

15 Qui est l’image du Dieu invisible, le premier-né de toute créature.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature:

16 Car c’est par lui que toutes choses ont été créées dans les cieux et sur la terre, les visibles et les invisibles, soit trônes, soit dominations, soit principautés, soit puissances: tout a été créé par lui et en lui;

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are upon earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 Et lui-même est avant tous, et tout subsiste en lui.

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 Et lui-même est le chef du corps de l’Eglise; il est le principe, le premier-né d’entre les morts, afin qu’en toutes choses il garde la primauté.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all [things] he may have the pre-eminence.

19 Parce qu’il a plu an Père que toute plénitude habitât en lui;

For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fullness dwell;

20 Et par lui de se réconcilier toutes choses, pacifiant par le sang de sa croix, soit ce qui est sur la terre, soit ce qui est dans les cieux.

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself; by him, [I say], whether [they are] things on earth, or things in heaven.

21 Et vous, qui autrefois étiez adversaires et ennemis en esprit par vos œuvres mauvaises,

And you, that were formerly alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled,

22 Il vous a maintenant réconciliés dans le corps de sa chair par la mort, pour vous rendre saints, purs et irrépréhensibles devant lui;

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreprovable in his sight:

23 Si toutefois vous demeurez fondés et affermis dans la foi, et inébranlables dans l’espérance de l’Evangile que vous avez entendu, qui a été prêché à toute créature qui est sous le ciel, et dont j’ai été fait ministre, moi Paul,

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [are] not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which hath been preached to every creature which is under heaven; of which I Paul am made a minister;

24 Qui maintenant me réjouis dans mes souffrances pour vous, et accomplis dans ma chair ce qui manque aux souffrances du Christ, pour son corps qui est l’Eglise,

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

25 Dont j’ai été fait ministre, selon la dispensation de Dieu, qui m’a été confiée pour que je vous annonce complètement la parole de Dieu;

Of which I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;

26 Le mystère qui a été caché dès l’origine des siècles et des générations, et qui est maintenant révélé à ses saints, (aiōn g165)

[Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages, and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (aiōn g165)

27 Auxquels Dieu a voulu faire connaître quelles sont les richesses de la gloire de ce mystère parmi les nations, lequel est le Christ, pour vous l’espérance de la gloire,

To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28 Christ que nous vous annonçons, reprenant tout homme, et enseignant à tout homme toute sagesse, afin de rendre tout homme parfait dans le Christ Jésus:

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

29 Ce à quoi je travaille en combattant selon l’énergie qu’il produit puissamment en moi.

For which I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
