Colossiens 2
1 Car je veux que vous sachiez quelle sollicitude j’ai pour vous, pour ceux qui sont à Laodicée, et pour tous ceux qui n’ont pas vu ma face dans la chair;
For I wish you to know how great a conflict I have in behalf of you, and those in Laodicea, and so many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 Afin que leurs cœurs soient consolés, et qu’ils soient instruits eux-mêmes dans la charité, pour parvenir à toutes les richesses d’une parfaite intelligence, et à la connaissance du mystère de Dieu le Père et du Christ Jésus,
in order that their hearts may be comforted, being knitted together in divine love, and in all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, unto the perfect knowledge of the mystery of God, of Christ,
3 En qui tous les trésors de la sagesse et de la science sont cachés.
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Je dis ceci afin que nul ne vous trompe par la sublimité des discours.
I say this in order that no one may deceive you with a persuasive speech.
5 Car, quoique absent de corps, je suis cependant avec vous en esprit, me réjouissant en voyant l’ordre qui est parmi vous, et la solidité de votre foi dans le Christ.
For if I am absent in the flesh, but I am present with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the establishment of your faith toward Christ.
6 Comme donc vous avez reçu Jésus-Christ, le Seigneur, marchez selon lui,
Therefore as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk about in him,
7 Enracinés en lui, édifiés sur lui, vous affermissant dans la foi, telle qu’elle vous a été enseignée, et lui rendant en abondance des actions de grâces.
having been rooted and grounded in him, and confirmed in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
8 Prenez garde que personne ne vous séduise par la philosophie, par des raisonnements vains et trompeurs, selon la tradition des hommes, selon les éléments du monde, et non selon le Christ;
See that no one shall be deceiving you through philosophy and empty delusion, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ,
9 Car en lui toute la plénitude de la divinité habite corporellement;
because in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
10 Et vous êtes remplis en lui, qui est le chef de toute principauté et de toute puissance;
and you are complete in him, who is the head of all government and authority:
11 Et c’est en lui que vous avez été circoncis d’une circoncision non faite de main d’homme par le dépouillement de votre corps de chair, mais de la circoncision du Christ;
in whom you are also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of depravity, in the circumcision of Christ;
12 Ayant été ensevelis avec lui dans le baptême, dans lequel vous avez été aussi ressuscités par la foi en la puissance de Dieu qui l’a ressuscité d’entre les morts.
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you are also raised by the faith of the operation of God, who raised him from the dead:
13 Et vous, lorsque vous étiez morts dans vos péchés et dans l’incirconcision de votre chair, il vous a fait revivre avec lui, vous remettant tous vos péchés;
and you, being dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your depravity, has he created life in you along with himself, having forgiven us all transgressions,
14 Effaçant la cédule du décret porté contre nous, qui nous était contraire, et qu’il a abolie, en l’attachant à la croix;
having blotted out the handwriting which was against us in ordinances, which was antagonistical to us: and took it out from the midst, having nailed it to the cross;
15 Et dépouillant les principautés et les puissances, il les a menées captives avec une noble fierté, triomphant d’elles hautement en lui-même.
having destroyed governments and authorities, he made a public exhibition of them triumphing over them on it.
16 Que personne donc ne vous juge sur le manger ou sur le boire, ou à cause des jours de fête, ou des néoménies, ou des sabbats;
Therefore let no one judge you in meat, or in drink, or in the participation of a feast, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath:
17 Choses qui ne sont que l’ombre des futures, tandis que le Christ en est le corps.
which things are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Que personne ne vous séduise, affectant l’humilité et le culte des anges, s’ingérant dans ce qu’il n’a point vu; vainement enflé des pensées de sa chair,
Let no one purposely rob you of your prize by humiliation and worship of the angels, trusting in those things which he has seen, being vainly puffed up by the mind of his depravity,
19 Et ne tenant point à la tête par laquelle tout le corps, servi et relié au moyen des jointures et des ligaments, croît de l’accroissement de Dieu.
and not holding the Head, from which the entire body, by joints and ligaments being supplied and knitted together, increases the increase of God.
20 Si donc vous êtes morts avec le Christ aux éléments de ce monde, pourquoi décidez-vous encore comme si vous viviez dans le monde?
If along with Christ you are dead from the elements of the world, why are you dogmatized as living in the world,
21 Ne mangez pas, ne goûtez pas, ne touchez pas,
Touch not, taste not, handle not,
22 Toutes choses qui périssent par l’usage même, et n’existent qu’en vertu des préceptes et des ordonnances des hommes,
those things which are all unto destruction by use according to the commandments and teachings of the people?
23 Lesquelles ont cependant une apparence de raison dans un culte exagéré et une humilité affectée, dans la mortification du corps, et un certain mépris pour le rassasiement de la chair.
Which indeed are having a word of wisdom in will worship, and humiliation, and austerity of the body; not in any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
