Actes 2
1 Quand les jours de la Pentecôte furent accomplis, ils étaient tous ensemble dans le même lieu;
And when the day of Pentecost was now accomplishing, they were all together in one place.
2 Et il se fit soudain un bruit du ciel, comme celui d’un vent impétueux qui arrive, et il remplit toute la maison où ils demeuraient.
And there came suddenly a sound out of heaven as of a violent impetuous blowing, and filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 Alors leur apparurent comme des langues de feu qui se partagèrent, et le feu se reposa sur chacun d’eux;
And there appeared to them parted tongues, as of fire, and it sat upon each one of them.
4 Et ils furent tous remplis de l’Esprit-Saint, et ils commencèrent à parler diverses langues, selon que l’Esprit-Saint leur donnait de parler.
And they were all filled with [the] Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave to them to speak forth.
5 Or habitaient dans Jérusalem des Juifs, hommes religieux de toute nation qui est sous le ciel.
Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, pious men, from every nation of those under heaven.
6 Ce bruit donc s’étant répandu, la multitude s’assembla et demeura confondue en son esprit, parce que chacun entendait les disciples parler en sa langue.
But the rumour of this having spread, the multitude came together and were confounded, because each one heard them speaking in his own dialect.
7 Et tous s’étonnaient et admiraient, disant: Est-ce que tous ceux-ci qui parlent ne sont pas Galiléens?
And all were amazed and wondered, saying, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galilaeans?
8 Et comment nous, avons-nous entendu chacun notre langue dans laquelle nous sommes nés?
and how do we hear [them] each in our own dialect in which we have been born,
9 Parthes, Mèdes, Elamites, et ceux qui habitent la Mésopotamie, la Judée, la Cappadoce, le Pont et l’Asie,
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, and Judaea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 La Phrygie, la Pamphylie, l’Egypte et les contrées de la Libye voisine de Cyrène, et ceux venus de Rome,
both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya which adjoin Cyrene, and the Romans sojourning [here], both Jews and proselytes,
11 Juifs et prosélytes, Crétois et Arabes: nous les avons entendus parler en nos langues les grandes œuvres de Dieu.
Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God?
12 Et tous s’étonnaient et admiraient, se disant l’un à l’autre: Qu’est-ce que ce peut être?
And they were all amazed and in perplexity, saying one to another, What would this mean?
13 Mais d’autres, raillant, disaient: Ils sont pleins de vin doux, ces gens-là.
But others mocking said, They are full of new wine.
14 Alors Pierre, se présentant avec les onze, éleva sa voix, et leur dit: Hommes de Judée, et vous tous qui habitez Jérusalem, que ceci soit connu de vous, et que vos oreilles recueillent mes paroles.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke forth to them, Men of Judaea, and all ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words:
15 Ceux-ci ne sont pas ivres, comme vous le pensez, puisqu’il n’est que la troisième heure du jour;
for these are not full of wine, as ye suppose, for it is the third hour of the day;
16 Mais c’est ce qui a été dit par le prophète Joël:
but this is that which was spoken through the prophet Joel,
17 Et il arrivera que, dans les derniers jours (dit le Seigneur), je répandrai de mon Esprit sur toute chair, et vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront, et vos jeunes hommes auront des visions, et vos vieillards feront des songes.
And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;
18 Et même sur mes serviteurs et mes servantes, en ces jours-là, je répandrai de mon Esprit, et ils prophétiseront;
yea, even upon my bondmen and upon my bondwomen in those days will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 Et je ferai des prodiges en haut dans le ciel, et des signes en bas sur la terre, du sang et du feu et une vapeur de fumée.
And I will give wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 Le soleil sera changé en ténèbres, et la lune en sang, avant que vienne le jour grand et manifeste du Seigneur.
the sun shall be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and gloriously appearing day of [the] Lord come.
21 Et quiconque aura invoqué le nom du Seigneur sera sauvé.
And it shall be that whosoever shall call upon the name of [the] Lord shall be saved.
22 Hommes d’Israël, écoutez ces paroles: Jésus de Nazareth, homme que Dieu a autorisé parmi vous par les miracles, les prodiges et les merveilles que Dieu a faits par lui au milieu de vous, comme vous le savez vous-mêmes;
Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazaraean, a man borne witness to by God to you by works of power and wonders and signs, which God wrought by him in your midst, as yourselves know
23 Cet homme qui, suivant le conseil arrêté et la prescience de Dieu, a été livré, vous l’avez fait mourir, le tourmentant par les mains des méchants,
— him, given up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye, by [the] hand of lawless [men], have crucified and slain.
24 Dieu l’a ressuscité, le délivrant des douleurs de l’enfer; car il était impossible qu’il y fût retenu. (questioned)
Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death, inasmuch as it was not possible that he should be held by its power;
25 David en effet, dit de lui: Je voyais toujours le Seigneur en ma présence, parce qu’il est à ma droite, afin que je ne sois pas ébranlé:
for David says as to him, I foresaw the Lord continually before me, because he is at my right hand that I may not be moved.
26 C’est pourquoi mon cœur s’est réjoui; et ma langue a tressailli; et même ma chair reposera dans l’espérance;
Therefore has my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted; yea more, my flesh also shall dwell in hope,
27 Car vous ne laisserez point mon âme dans l’enfer, et ne souffrirez point que votre Saint voie la corruption. (Hadēs g86)
for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
28 Vous m’avez fait connaître les voies de la vie, et vous me remplirez de joie par votre face.
Thou hast made known to me [the] paths of life, thou wilt fill me with joy with thy countenance.
29 Hommes, mes frères, qu’il me soit permis de vous dire hardiment du patriarche David, qu’il est mort, qu’il a été enseveli; et son sépulcre est jusqu’à ce jour au milieu de nous.
Brethren, let it be allowed to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he has both died and been buried, and his monument is amongst us unto this day.
30 Comme donc il était prophète, et qu’il savait que Dieu lui avait juré par serment qu’un fils de son sang s’assoirait sur son trône;
Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, of the fruit of his loins to set upon his throne;
31 Par prévision, il a dit, touchant la résurrection du Christ, qu’il n’a point été laissé dans l’enfer, et que sa chair n’a point vu la corruption. (Hadēs g86)
he, seeing [it] before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption. (Hadēs g86)
32 Ce Jésus, Dieu l’a ressuscité; nous en sommes tous témoins.
This Jesus has God raised up, whereof all we are witnesses.
33 Elevé donc par la droite de Dieu, et ayant reçu de son Père la promesse de l’Esprit-Saint, il a répandu cet Esprit que vous voyez et entendez vous-mêmes.
Having therefore been exalted by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye behold and hear.
34 Car David n’est point monté au ciel, mais il a dit lui-même: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Asseyez-vous à ma droite,
For David has not ascended into the heavens, but he says himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand
35 Jusqu’à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis l’escabeau de vos pieds.
until I have put thine enemies [to be] the footstool of thy feet.
36 Qu’elle sache donc très certainement, toute la maison d’Israël, que Dieu a fait Seigneur et Christ ce Jésus que vous avez crucifié.
Let the whole house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him, this Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Ces choses entendues, ils furent touchés de componction en leur cœur, et ils dirent à Pierre et aux autres apôtres: Hommes, mes frères, que ferons-nous?
And having heard [it] they were pricked in heart, and said to Peter and the other apostles, What shall we do, brethren?
38 Et Pierre leur répondit: Faites pénitence, et que chacun de vous soit baptisé au nom de Jésus-Christ, en rémission de vos péchés, et vous recevrez le don de l’Esprit-Saint.
And Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptised, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for remission of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 Car la promesse vous regarde, vous, vos enfants, et tous ceux qui sont éloignés, autant que le Seigneur en appellera.
For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all who [are] afar off, as many as [the] Lord our God may call.
40 Et par beaucoup d’autres discours encore il rendait témoignage, et il les exhortait, disant: Sauvez-vous de cette génération perverse.
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.
41 Ceux donc qui reçurent sa parole furent baptisés; et il y eut d’adjoint, en ce jour là, environ trois mille âmes.
Those then who had accepted his word were baptised; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.
42 Et tous persévéraient dans la doctrine des apôtres, dans la communion de la fraction du pain et dans la prière.
And they persevered in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, in breaking of bread and prayers.
43 Or la crainte était dans toutes les âmes, et beaucoup de prodiges et de merveilles se faisaient aussi par les apôtres dans Jérusalem, et tous étaient dans une grande frayeur.
And fear was upon every soul, and many wonders and signs took place through the apostles' means.
44 Tous ceux qui croyaient étaient ensemble, et ils avaient toutes choses en commun.
And all that believed were together, and had all things common,
45 Ils vendaient leurs possessions et leurs biens, et les distribuaient à tous, selon que chacun en avait besoin.
and sold their possessions and substance, and distributed them to all, according as any one might have need.
46 Tous les jours aussi, persévérant unanimement dans le temple, et rompant le pain de maison en maison, ils prenaient leur nourriture avec allégresse et simplicité de cœur,
And every day, being constantly in the temple with one accord, and breaking bread in [the] house, they received their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 Louant Dieu, et trouvant grâce aux yeux de tout le peuple. Et le Seigneur augmentait en même temps chaque jour le nombre de ceux qui devaient être sauvés.
praising God, and having favour with all the people; and the Lord added [to the assembly] daily those that were to be saved.
