2 Samuel 22
1 Or, David dit au Seigneur les paroles de ce cantique, au jour où le Seigneur le délivra de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül.
And David spoke to the Lord the words of this canticle, in the day that the Lord delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
2 Et il dit: Le Seigneur est mon rocher, et ma force, et mon sauveur.
And he said: The Lord is my rock, and my strength, and my saviour.
3 Dieu est mon fort, j’espérerai en lui; il est mon bouclier, l’appui de mon salut; c’est lui qui m’élève, et qui est mon refuge; mon Sauveur, vous me délivrerez de l’iniquité.
God is my strong one, in him will I trust: my shield, and the horn of my salvation: he lifteth me up, and is my refuge: my saviour, thou wilt deliver me from iniquity.
4 J’invoquerai le Seigneur, digne de louanges, et je serai délivré de mes ennemis.
I will call on the Lord who is worthy to be praised: and I shall be saved from my enemies.
5 Parce que les brisements de la mort m’ont environné, les torrents de Bélial m’ont épouvanté.
For the pangs of death have surrounded me: the floods of Belial have made me afraid.
The cords of hell compassed me: the snares of death prevented me. (Sheol h7585)
7 Dans ma tribulation, j’invoquerai le Seigneur, et c’est vers mon Dieu que je crierai, et il exaucera ma voix de son temple, et mon cri viendra jusqu’à ses oreilles.
In my distress I will call upon the Lord, and I will cry to my God: and he will hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry shall come to his ears.
8 La terre s’est émue et a tremblé; les fondements des montagnes ont été agités et ébranlés, parce que le Seigneur s’est irrité contre elles.
The earth shook and trembled, the foundations of the mountains were moved, and shaken, because he was angry with them.
9 Une fumée est montée de ses narines, et un feu sorti de sa bouche dévorera; des charbons en ont été allumés.
A smoke went up from his nostrils, and a devouring fire out of his mouth: coals were kindled by it.
10 Il a incliné les cieux, et il est descendu, et un nuage obscur était sous ses pieds.
He bowed the heavens, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
11 Il a monté sur des chérubins, et il a pris son vol, et il s’est élancé sur des ailes de vent.
And he rode upon the cherubims, and flew: and slid upon the wings of the wind.
12 Il a mis des ténèbres autour de lui pour se cacher; il a fait distiller des eaux des nuées des cieux.
He made darkness a covering round about him: dropping waters out of the clouds of the heavens.
13 À la lumière qui éclate en sa présence, des charbons de feu se sont allumés.
By the brightness before him, the coals of fire were kindled.
14 Le Seigneur tonnera du ciel, et le Très-Haut élèvera sa voix.
The Lord shall thunder from heaven: and the most high shall give forth his voice.
15 Il a lancé des flèches, et il les a dissipés; la foudre, et il les a consumés.
He shot arrows and scattered them: lightning, and consumed them.
16 Alors ont paru les abîmes de la mer, les fondements du monde ont été mis à nu, à la menace du Seigneur, au souffle du vent de sa colère.
And the overflowings of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid open at the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of the spirit of his wrath.
17 Il a envoyé d’en haut, et il m’a pris, et il m’a retiré d’un gouffre d’eaux.
He sent from on high, and took me, and drew me out of many waters.
18 Il m’a délivré de mon ennemi très puissant, et de ceux qui me haïssaient, parce qu’ils étaient plus forts que moi.
He delivered me from my most mighty enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
19 Il m’a prévenu au jour de mon affliction, et le Seigneur s’est fait mon appui.
He prevented me in the day of my affliction, and the Lord became my stay.
20 Et il m’a mis au large; il m’a délivré, parce que je lui ai plu.
And he brought me forth into a large place, he delivered me, because I pleased him.
21 Le Seigneur me rétribuera selon ma justice, et il me rendra selon la pureté de mes mains,
The Lord will reward me according to my justice: and according to the cleanness of my hands he will render to me.
22 Parce que j’ai gardé les voies du Seigneur, et que je n’ai pas agi avec impiété en m’éloignant de mon Dieu.
Because I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 Tous ses jugements sont devant mes yeux, et je n’ai point éloigné ses préceptes de moi.
For all his judgments are in my sight: and his precepts I have not removed from me.
24 Et je serai parfait avec lui, et je me garderai de mon iniquité.
And I shall be perfect with him: and shall keep myself from my iniquity.
25 Et le Seigneur me rendra selon ma justice, et selon la pureté de mes mains devant ses yeux.
And the Lord will recompense me according to my justice: and according to the cleanness of my hands in the sight of his eyes.
26 Avec un saint vous serez saint, et avec un fort, parfait.
With the holy one thou wilt be holy: and with the valiant perfect.
27 Avec un homme excellent, vous serez excellent, et avec un pervers, vous agirez selon sa perversité.
With the elect thou wilt be elect: and with the perverse thou wilt be perverted.
28 Vous sauverez un peuple pauvre, et par vos yeux vous humilierez les superbes.
And the poor people thou wilt save: and with thy eyes thou wilt humble the haughty.
29 Parce que c’est vous, Seigneur, qui êtes ma lampe; vous, qui illuminez mes ténèbres.
For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and thou, O Lord, wilt enlighten my darkness.
30 Car avec vous je courrai tout prêt au combat; avec mon Dieu, je franchirai un mur.
For in thee I will run girded: in my God I will leap over the wall.
31 Dieu, sa voie est sans tache, la parole du Seigneur est éprouvée par le feu; il est le bouclier de tous ceux qui espèrent en lui.
God, his way is immaculate, the word of the Lord is tried by fire: he is the shield of all that trust in him.
32 Qui est Dieu, excepté le Seigneur? et qui est le fort, excepté notre Dieu?
Who is God but the Lord: and who is strong but our God?
33 Le Dieu qui m’a revêtu de force, et qui m’a aplani ma voie parfaite;
God who hath girded me with strength, and made my way perfect.
34 Egalant mes pieds aux cerfs, et m’établissant sur mes lieux élevés;
Making my feet like the feet of harts, and setting me upon my high places.
35 Instruisant mes mains au combat, et rendant mes bras comme un arc d’airain.
He teacheth my bands to war: and maketh my arms like a bow of brass.
36 Vous m avez donné le bouclier de votre salut, et votre bonté ma multiplié.
Thou hast given me the shield of my salvation: and thy mildness hath multiplied me.
37 Vous agrandirez mes pas sous moi, et mes talons ne chancelleront point.
Thou shalt enlarge my steps under me: and my ankles shall not fail.
38 Je poursuivrai mes ennemis, et je les briserai; et je ne reviendrai point jusqu’à ce que je les détruise.
I will pursue after my enemies, and crush them: and will not return again till I consume them.
39 Je les détruirai et les briserai, de manière qu’ils ne se relèvent point; ils tomberont sous mes pieds.
I will consume them and break them in pieces, so that they shall not rise: they shall fall under my feet.
40 Vous m’avez revêtu de force pour le combat, vous avez fait plier sous moi ceux qui me résistaient.
Thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast made them that resisted me to bow under me.
41 Vous m’avez livré mes ennemis par derrière; ceux qui me haïssaient, et je les exterminerai.
My enemies thou hast made to turn their back to me: them that hated me, and I shall destroy them.
42 Ils crieront, et il n’y aura personne qui les sauve; ils crieront vers le Seigneur, et il ne les exaucera pas.
They shall cry, and there shall be none to save: to the Lord, and he shall not hear them.
43 Je les dissiperai comme de la poussière de la terre, et je les broierai comme de la boue de rues et les briserai.
I shall beat them as small as the dust of the earth: I shall crush them and spread them abroad like the mire of the streets.
44 Vous me sauverez des contradictions de mon peuple; vous me garderez pour chef de nations; un peuple que j’ignore me servira.
Thou wilt save me from the contradictions of my people: thou wilt keep me to be the head of the Gentiles: the people which I know not, shall serve me,
45 Des fils d’étranger me résisteront; en écoutant de leurs oreilles, ils m’obéiront.
The sons of the stranger will resist me, at the hearing of the ear they will obey me.
46 Des fils d’étranger se sont dispersés, et ils seront resserrés dans leurs défilés.
The strangers are melted away, and shall be straitened in their distresses.
47 Le Seigneur vit, et béni mon Dieu! et le Dieu fort de mon salut sera exalté;
The Lord liveth, and my God is blessed: and the strong God of my salvation shall be exalted:
48 Vous, le Dieu qui me donnez des vengeances, et qui abattez des peuples sous moi;
God who giveth me revenge, and bringest down people under me,
49 Qui m’arrachez à mes ennemis et qui m’élevez au-dessus de ceux qui me résistent: vous me délivrerez de l’homme inique.
Who bringest me forth from my enemies, and liftest me up from them that resist me: from the wicked man thou shalt deliver me.
50 À cause de cela, je vous confesserai. Seigneur, parmi les nations, et je chanterai votre nom,
Therefore will I give thanks to thee. O Lord, among the Gentiles, and will sing to thy name.
51 Qui exalte les victoires de son roi, et qui fait miséricorde à son christ, David, et à sa postérité pour toujours.
Giving great salvation to his king, and shewing mercy to David his anointed, and to his seed for ever.
