1 En la vingt-septième année de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, régna Azarias, fils d’Amasias, Juda.
In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign.
2 Il avait seize ans lorsqu’il commença à régner, et il régna cinquante-deux ans dans Jérusalem: le nom de sa mère était Jéchélie de Jérusalem.
Azariah was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jekoliah, and she was from Jerusalem.
3 Et il fit ce qui était agréable devant le Seigneur, selon tout ce que fit Amasias, son père.
He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, just as his father Amaziah had done.
4 Cependant il ne démolit pas les hauts lieux, et le peuple sacrifiait encore et brûlait de l’encens sur les hauts lieux.
However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.
5 Mais le Seigneur frappa le roi, et il fut lépreux jusqu’au jour de sa mort, et il habitait dans la maison retirée, séparément: cependant Joathan, fils du roi, gouvernait le palais, et jugeait le peuple de la terre.
Yahweh afflicted the king so that he was a leper to the day of his death and lived in a separate house. Jotham, the king's son, was over the household and ruled the people of the land.
6 Mais le reste des actions d’Azarias, et tout ce qu’il a fait, n’est-ce pas écrit dans le Livre des actions des jours des rois de Juda?
As for the other matters concerning Azariah, all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?
7 Et Azarias dormit avec ses pères, et on l’ensevelit avec ses ancêtres dans la cité de David, et Joathan, son fils, régna en sa place.
So Azariah slept with his ancestors; they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David. Jotham, his son, became king in his place.
8 En la trente-huitième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie pendant six mois.
In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria for six months.
9 Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, comme avaient fait ses pères, et il ne s’écarta pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabath, qui fit pécher Israël.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
10 Or Sellum, fils de Jabès, conspira contre lui; il le frappa publiquement, et il le tua; et il régna en sa place.
Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah, attacked him in Ibleam, and killed him. Then he became king in his place.
11 Mais le reste des actions de Zacharie n’est-il pas écrit dans le Livre des actions des jours des rois d’Israël?
As for the other matters concerning Zechariah, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
12 Voici la parole du Seigneur qu’il avait dite à Jéhu, disant: Tes enfants jusqu’à la quatrième génération seront assis sur le trône d’Israël. Et il fut fait ainsi.
This was the word of Yahweh that he spoke to Jehu, saying, “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” That is what happened.
13 Sellum, fils de Jabès, régna la trente-neuvième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda; mais il régna un mois seulement à Samarie.
Shallum son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, and he reigned only one month in Samaria.
14 Car Manahem, fils de Gadi, monta de Thersa, vint à Samarie, frappa Sellum, fils de Jabès, à Samarie, le tua, et régna en sa place.
Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria. There he attacked Shallum son of Jabesh, in Samaria. He killed him and became king in his place.
15 Mais le reste des actions de Sellum, et sa conspiration par laquelle il tendit des embûches, ne sont-ils pas écrits dans le Livre des actions des jours des rois d’Israël?
As for the other matters concerning Shallum and the conspiracy that he formed, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
16 Ce fut alors que Manahem frappa Thapsa, et tous ceux qui y étaient, et ses confins depuis Thersa; car ses habitants ne lui avaient pas voulu ouvrir les portes; et il en tua toutes les femmes enceintes et les coupa en deux.
Then Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all who were there, and the borders around Tirzah, because they did not open up the city to him. So he attacked it, and he ripped open all the pregnant women in that village.
17 En la trente-neuvième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Manahem, fils de Gadi, régna sur Israël à Samarie pendant dix ans.
In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi began to reign over Israel; he reigned ten years in Samaria.
18 Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne s’écarta pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabath, qui fit pécher Israël durant tous ses jours.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. For his whole life, he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
19 Phul, roi des Assyriens, vint dans la terre d’Israël, et Manahem lui donna mille talents d’argent, afin qu’il le secourût et qu’il affermît son règne.
Then Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, so that Pul's support might be with him to strengthen the kingdom of Israel in his hand.
20 Et Manahem leva cet argent dans Israël sur tous les puissants et les riches, afin de donner au roi des Assyriens cinquante sicles d’argent par tête: le roi des Assyriens retourna aussitôt, et il ne demeura point dans le pays.
Menahem exacted this money from Israel by requiring each of the wealthy men to pay fifty shekels of silver to him to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

As for the other matters concerning Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
22 Et Manahem dormit avec ses pères, et Phacéia, son fils, régna en sa place.
So Menahem slept with his ancestors, and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.
23 En la cinquantième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacéia, fils de Manahem, régna sur Israël à Samarie pendant deux ans.
In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned two years.
24 Et il fit ce qui était mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne s’écarta pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabath, qui fit pécher Israël.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had caused Israel to sin.
25 Or Phacée, fils de Romélie, chef de son armée, conspira contre lui, et il le frappa à Samarie dans la tour de la maison royale, près d’Argob et près d’Arié, et avec lui, cinquante hommes d’entre les enfants des Galaadites, et il le tua et régna en sa place.
Pekahiah had an officer named Pekah son of Remaliah, who conspired against him. Along with fifty men of Gilead, Pekah killed Pekahiah as well as Argob and Arieh in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's palace. Pekah killed Pekahiah and became king in his place.

As for the other matters concerning Pekahiah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
27 En la cinquante-deuxième année d’Azarias, roi de Juda, Phacée, fils de Romélie, régna sur Israël à Samarie pendant vingt ans.
In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned twenty years.
28 Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il ne s’écarta pas des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nabath, qui fit pécher Israël.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
29 Dans les jours de Phacée, roi d’Israël, vint Théglathphalasar, roi des Assyriens, et il prit Aïon, et Abelmaison de Maacha et Janoé, Cédés, Asor, Galaad, la Galilée, et toute la terre de Nephthali, et en transporta les habitants chez les Assyriens.
In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, Galilee, and all the land of Naphtali. He carried away the people to Assyria.
30 Mais Osée, fils d’Ela, conspira, tendit des embûches à Phacée, fils de Romélie, le frappa et le tua; et il régna en sa place, la vingtième année de Joathan, fils d’Ozias.
So Hoshea son of Elah formed a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked him and killed him. Then he became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
31 Mais le reste des actions de Phacée, et tout ce qu’il a fait, n’est-ce pas écrit dans le Livre des actions des rois d’Israël?
As for the other matters concerning Pekah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
32 En la seconde année de Phacée, fils de Romélie, roi d’Israël, régna Joatham, fils d’Ozias, roi de Juda.
In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham son of Azariah, king of Judah began to reign.
33 Il avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu’il commença à régner, et il régna pendant seize ans dans Jérusalem: le nom de sa mère était Jérusa, fille de Sadoc.
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah; she was the daughter of Zadok.
34 Il fit ce qui était agréable devant le Seigneur, et tout ce qu’Ozias, son père, avait fait.
Jotham did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh. He followed the example of all his father Azariah had done.
35 Cependant il n’abolit pas les hauts lieux; car le peuple sacrifiait encore et brûlait de l’encens sur les hauts lieux: ce fut lui qui bâtit la porte de la maison du Seigneur, la plus haute.
However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Jotham built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.
36 Mais le reste des actions de Joatham, et tout ce qu’il a fait, n’est-ce pas écrit dans le Livre des actions des jours des rois de Juda?
As for the other matters concerning Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?
37 En ces jours-là, le Seigneur commença à envoyer contre Juda Rasin, roi de Syrie, et Phacée, fils de Romélie.
In those days Yahweh began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah son of Remaliah.
38 Et Joatham dormit avec ses pères; et il fut enseveli avec eux dans la cité de David, son père, et Achaz, son fils, régna en sa place.
Jotham slept with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David, his ancestor. Then Ahaz, his son, became king in his place.
