2 Chroniques 3
1 Ainsi Salomon commença à bâtir la maison du Seigneur à Jérusalem, sur la montagne de Moria, qui avait été montrée à David, son père, au lieu qu’avait préparé David dans l’aire d’Ornan, le Jébuséen.
Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where he appeared to David his father, at the place that David had designated, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Or il commença à bâtir au second mois, à la quatrième année de son règne.
And he began to build in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 Et voici les fondements que jeta Salomon pour bâtir la maison du Seigneur: il lui donna soixante coudées de longueur, suivant la première mesure, et vingt coudées de largeur.
Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of God's house. The length, using the former standard measure, was one hundred three feet and four inches, and the breadth was thirty-four feet and five inches, and its height was fifty-one feet and eight inches.
4 De plus, il bâtit, devant la façade, le portique qui s’étendait selon la mesure de la largeur de la maison, à la longueur de vingt coudées; mais sa hauteur était de cent vingt coudées; et Salomon le fit dorer en dedans d’un or très pur.
The porch that was in front of the house was the same as the width of the house, thirty-four feet and five inches, and the depth was seventeen feet and three inches; and he overlaid it on the inside with pure gold.
5 Il lambrissa aussi la partie de la maison la plus grande d’ais de bois de sapin, et il attacha sur le tout des lames de l’or le plus fin; et il y grava des palmes et comme de petites chaînes entrelacées les unes dans les autres.
The greater house he made a ceiling with fir wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and ornamented it with palm trees and chains.
6 Il fit aussi le pavé du temple d’un marbre très précieux, avec beaucoup de décorations,
He garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
7 L’or des lames dont il couvrit la maison, les poutres, les poteaux, les murailles et les portes, était très fin; et il grava des chérubins sur les murailles.
He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold; and engraved cherubim on the walls.
8 Il fit aussi la maison du Saint des saints, lui donnant une longueur selon la largeur de la maison, de vingt coudées, et une largeur également de vingt coudées; et il la couvrit de lames d’or, d’environ six cents talents.
He made the most holy house: its length, according to the breadth of the house, was thirty-four feet and five inches, and its breadth thirty-four feet and five inches; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
9 Il fit de plus des clous d’or, de manière que chaque clou pesait cinquante sicles; les chambres d’en haut aussi, il les couvrit d’or.
The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid the upper rooms with gold.
10 Il fit encore dans la maison du Saint des saints deux chérubins, d’un travail de statuaire; et il les couvrit d’or.
In the most holy house he made two cherubim of sculptured work; and he overlaid them with gold.
11 Les ailes des chérubins avaient vingt coudées d’étendue, en sorte qu’une aile avait cinq coudées et touchait la muraille de la maison, et que l’autre, qui avait cinq coudées, touchait l’aile de l’autre chérubin.
The wings of the cherubim were thirty-four feet and five inches: the wing of the one was eight feet and seven inches, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was eight feet and seven inches, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
12 De même une aile de cet autre chérubin avait cinq coudées, et touchait la muraille; et son autre aile, de cinq coudées, touchait l’aile de l’autre chérubin.
The wing of the other cherub was eight feet and seven inches, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was eight feet and seven inches, joining to the wing of the other cherub.
13 Ainsi les ailes des deux chérubins étaient déployées, et avaient vingt coudées d’étendue; et ils étaient eux-mêmes droits sur leurs pieds, et leurs faces étaient tournées vers la maison extérieure.
The wings of these cherubim were extended thirty-four feet and five inches: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.
14 Il fit aussi le voile d’hyacinthe, de pourpre, d’écarlate et de lin fin, et il y tissa des chérubins:
He made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and ornamented it with cherubim.
15 Et de plus, devant la porte du temple, deux colonnes qui avaient trente-cinq coudées de hauteur; et leurs chapiteaux étaient de cinq coudées.
Also he made before the house two pillars sixty feet and three inches high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was eight feet and seven inches.
16 Il fit de même comme de petites chaînes dans l’oracle, et il les mit sur les chapiteaux des colonnes, ainsi que cent grenades qu’il entrelaça dans les chaînes.
He made chains in the inner sanctuary, and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
17 Et les colonnes elles-mêmes, il les mit dans le vestibule du temple, l’une à droite, l’autre à gauche: il appela celle qui était à droite, Jachin, et celle qui était à gauche, Booz.
He set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jakin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
