1 Rois 5
1 Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya aussi ses serviteurs vers Salomon; car il apprit qu’on l’avait oint roi, en la place de son père, parce qu’Hiram avait toujours été l’ami de David.
And he sent Hiram [the] king of Tyre servants his to Solomon for he had heard that him people had anointed to king in place of father his for a friend he had been Hiram of David all the days.
2 Or Salomon envoya vers Hiram, disant:
And he sent Solomon to Hiram saying.
3 Vous savez le désir de David mon père, et qu’il n’a pu bâtir une maison au nom du Seigneur son Dieu, à cause des guerres qui le menaçaient de toutes parts, jusqu’à ce que le Seigneur eût mis ses ennemis sous la plante de ses pieds.
You you know David father my that not he was able to build a house for [the] name of Yahweh God his because of the war which they had surrounded him until gave Yahweh them under [the] soles of (feet my. *Q(K)*)
4 Mais maintenant le Seigneur mon Dieu m’a donné la paix alentour; et il n’y a ni adversaire, ni obstacle fâcheux.
And now he has given rest Yahweh God my to me from round about there not [is] an adversary and there not [is] an occurrence evil.
5 C’est pourquoi je pense à bâtir un temple au nom du Seigneur mon Dieu, comme a parlé le Seigneur à David, mon père, disant: Ton fils, que je mettrai en ta place sur ton trône, sera celui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom.
And here I [am] saying to build a house for [the] name of Yahweh God my just as - he spoke Yahweh to David father my saying son your whom I will put in place of you on throne your he he will build the house for name my.
6 Ordonnez donc que vos serviteurs coupent pour moi des cèdres du Liban, et que mes serviteurs soient avec les vôtres; quant à la récompense de vos serviteurs, je vous la donnerai telle que vous la demanderez; car vous savez que parmi mon peuple, il n’est pas d’homme qui sache couper le bois comme les Sidoniens.
And therefore command so they may cut for me cedars from Lebanon and servants my they will be with servants your and [the] wage[s] of servants your I will give to you according to all that you will say for - you you know that there not among us [is] anyone [who] knows to cut wood like the Sidonians.
7 Lors donc qu’Hiram eut entendu les paroles de Salomon, il se réjouit beaucoup, et dit: Béni aujourd’hui le Seigneur Dieu, qui a donné à David un fils très sage pour gouverner ce très grand peuple!
And it was when heard Hiram [the] words of Solomon and he rejoiced exceedingly and he said [be] blessed Yahweh this day who he has given to David a son wise over the people great this.
8 Et Hiram envoya vers Salomon, disant: J’ai entendu tout ce que vous m’avez mandé; je ferai tout ce que vous désirez pour les bois de cèdre et de sapin.
And he sent Hiram to Solomon saying I have heard [that] which you sent to me I I will do all desire your in wood of cedar and in wood of cypress.
9 Mes serviteurs les porteront du Liban à la mer, et moi je les ferai mettre en radeaux sur la mer, jusqu’au lieu que vous m’aurez marqué; je les y ferai aborder; vous les enlèverez, et vous me fournirez tout ce qui me sera nécessaire pour nourrir ma maison.
Servants my they will bring [them] down from Lebanon [the] sea towards and I I will make them rafts on the sea to the place which you will send to me and I will break up them there and you you will carry [them] away and you you will do desire my by giving [the] food of household my.
10 C’est pourquoi Hiram donnait à Salomon des bois de cèdre et de sapin, selon tous ses désirs.
And he was Hiram giving to Solomon wood of cedar and wood of cypress all desire his.
11 Et Salomon fournissait à Hiram, pour nourrir sa maison, vingt mille cors de froment et vingt cors d’huile très pure: voilà ce que Salomon livrait chaque année à Hiram.
And Solomon he gave to Hiram twenty thousand cor[s] of wheat food for household his and twenty cor[s] of oil pressed thus he gave Solomon to Hiram a year in a year.
12 Le Seigneur donna aussi la sagesse à Salomon, comme il le lui avait dit: et il y avait paix entre Hiram et Salomon, et ils firent tous deux alliance.
And Yahweh he gave wisdom to Solomon just as he had spoken to him and it was peace between Hiram and between Solomon and they made a covenant [the] two of them.
13 Et le roi Salomon choisit des ouvriers de tout Israël, et la taxation était de trente mille hommes.
And he raised the king Solomon forced labor from all Israel and it was the forced labor thirty thousand man.
14 Et il les envoyait au Liban tour à tour, dix mille chaque mois, de sorte qu’ils étaient deux mois dans leurs maisons; et Adoniram était préposé à cette taxation.
And he sent them Lebanon towards ten thousand in the month relays a month they were in Lebanon two months in home his and Adoniram [was] over the forced labor.
15 Salomon avait soixante-dix mille hommes qui portaient des fardeaux, et quatre-vingt mille qui taillaient des pierres sur la montagne,
And it belonged to Solomon seventy thousand carrier[s] burden-bearer[s] and eighty thousand stone-cutter[s] in the hill country.
16 Sans les préposés qui présidaient à chaque ouvrage, au nombre de trois mille trois cents, et qui donnaient les ordres au peuple et à ceux qui faisaient l’ouvrage.
Apart from [the] leaders of the overseers of Solomon who [were] over the work three thousand and three hundred who ruled over the people who were doing the work.
17 Et le roi leur ordonna de prendre de grandes pierres, des pierres de prix, pour les fondements du temple, et de les équarrir;
And he commanded the king and they quarried stones large stones costly to found the house stones of hewn [stone].
18 Et les maçons de Salomon et les maçons d’Hiram les taillèrent; or ceux de Giblos préparèrent les bois et les pierres pour bâtir la maison du Seigneur.
And they cut [them] to shape [the] builders of Solomon and [the] builders of Hiram and the Gebalites and they prepared the wood and the stones to build the house.
