1 Chroniques 18
1 Or il arriva après cela que David battit les Philistins et les humilia, qu’il enleva Geth et ses filles de la main des Philistins,
And it was after thus and he struck down David [the] Philistines and he subdued them and he took Gath and daughters its from [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
2 Qu’il battit aussi Moab, et que les Moabites devinrent serviteurs de David, lui offrant des présents.
And he struck down Moab and they became Moab subjects of David bearers of tribute.
3 En ce temps, David battit encore Adarézer, roi de Soba, contrée d’Hémath, lorsqu’il alla pour étendre son empire jusqu’au fleuve d’Euphrate.
And he struck down David Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah Hamath towards when went he to establish monument his at [the] river of Euphrates.
4 David lui prit donc mille quadriges, et sept mille cavaliers, et vingt mille hommes de pied; il coupa les nerfs des jambes à tous les chevaux des chariots, excepté cent quadriges qu’il réserva pour lui.
And he captured David from him one thousand chariot[s] and seven thousand horsemen and twenty thousand man on foot and he hamstrung David all the chariotry and he left of it one hundred chariot[s].
5 Or vint encore le Syrien de Damas, pour porter secours à Adarézer, roi de Soba; mais David lui tua aussi vingt-deux mille hommes.
And it came Aram Damascus to help Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah and he struck down David in Aram twenty and two thousand man.
6 Et il mit des soldats dans Damas, pour que la Syrie aussi lui fût assujettie et offrît des présents. Et le Seigneur l’assista dans tous les lieux où il alla.
And he put David in Aram Damascus and it became Aram of David subjects bearers of tribute and he gave victory Yahweh to David in every where he went.
7 David prit aussi les carquois d’or qu’avaient les serviteurs d’Adarézer, et il les porta à Jérusalem;
And he took David [the] shields of gold which they were on [the] servants of Hadadezer and he brought them Jerusalem.
8 Et, de plus, une grande quantité d’airain de Thébath et de Chun, villes d’Adarézer, avec quoi Salomon fit la mer d’airain, et les colonnes, et les vases d’airain.
And from Tibhath and from Kun [the] cities of Hadadezer he took David bronze much very with it - he made Solomon [the] sea of bronze and the pillars and [the] articles of bronze.
9 Or, lorsque Thoü, roi d’Hémath, eut appris que David avait battu toute l’armée d’Adarézer, roi de Soba,
And he heard Tou [the] king of Hamath that he had struck down David all [the] army of Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah.
10 Il envoya Adoram, son fils, au roi David, pour lui demander la paix, et lui témoigner sa joie de ce qu’il avait battu et vaincu entièrement Adarézer; car Thoü était ennemi d’Adarézer.
And he sent Hadoram son his to the king David (to ask *Q(k)*) of him to welfare and to bless him on that he had fought against Hadadezer and he had defeated him for man of wars of Tou he was Hadadezer and all articles of gold and silver and bronze.
11 Mais quant à tous les vases d’or, d’argent et d’airain, David, le roi, les consacra au Seigneur avec l’argent et l’or qu’il avait pris sur toutes les nations, tant sur l’Iduméen, Moab et les enfants d’Ammon, que sur les Philistins et Amalec.
Also them he consecrated the king David to Yahweh with the silver and the gold which he had taken away from all the nations from Edom and from Moab and from [the] people of Ammon and from [the] Philistines and from Amalek.
12 De plus, Abisaï, fils de Sarvia, battit Edom dans la vallée des Salines; c’est-à-dire dix-huit mille Iduméens.
And Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah he struck down Edom in [the] Valley of Salt eight-teen thousand.
13 Et il établit en Edom une garnison, pour que l’Idumée fût assujettie à David; et le Seigneur conserva David dans tous les lieux où il alla.
And he put in Edom garrisons and they became all Edom subjects of David and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.
14 David régna donc sur tout Israël, et il rendait des jugements et la justice à tout son peuple.
And he reigned David over all Israel and he was doing justice and righteousness for all people his.
15 Mais Joab, fils de Sarvia, commandait l’armée; et Josaphat, fils d’Ahilud, tenait les registres.
And Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [was] over the army and Jehoshaphat [the] son of Ahilud [was the] recorder.
16 Et Sadoc, fils d’Achitob, et Abimélech, fils d’Abiathar, étaient prêtres, et Susa, scribe.
And Zadok [the] son of Ahitub and Abimelech [the] son of Abiathar [were] priests and Shavsha [was the] scribe.
17 Mais Banaïas, fils de Joïada, commandait les légions des Céréthiens et des Phélétiens; mais les fils de David étaient les premiers auprès du roi.
And Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada [was] over the Kerethite[s] and the Pelethite[s] and [the] sons of David [were] the first to [the] side of the king.
