1 Chroniques 16
1 On apporta donc l’arche de Dieu, et on la plaça au milieu du tabernacle que David lui avait dressé; et l’on offrit des holocaustes et des sacrifices pacifiques devant Dieu.
Therfor thei brouyten the arke of God, and settiden it in the myddis of the tabernacle, that Dauid hadde araied therto; and thei offriden brent sacrifices and pesible sacrifices bifor the Lord.
2 Et lorsque David eut achevé d’offrir les holocaustes et les sacrifices pacifiques, il bénit le peuple au nom du Seigneur.
And whanne Dauid offrynge brent sacrifices and pesible sacrifices hadde fillid, he blesside the puple in the name of the Lord;
3 Et il distribua à chacun en particulier, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la femme, une miche de pain, un morceau de viande de bubale rôtie, et de fleur de farine frite dans l’huile.
and departide to alle to ech bi hym silf fro a man til to a womman o cake of breed, and a part of rostid fleisch of a bugle, and flour fried in oile.
4 Et il établit devant l’arche du Seigneur des Lévites qui devaient le servir, rappeler le souvenir de ses œuvres, glorifier et louer le Seigneur Dieu d’Israël:
And he ordeynede bifor the arke of the Lord, of the Leuytis, that schulden mynystre, and haue mynde of the werkis of the Lord, and glorifie and preyse the Lord God of Israel;
5 Asaph, le premier, et son second, Zacharie; ensuite Jahiel, Sémiramoth, Jéhiel, Mathathias, Eliab, Banaïas et Obédédom; Jéhiel, pour les instruments de psaltérions et pour les lyres, et Asaph, pour jouer des cymbales.
`he ordeynede Asaph the prince, and Zacharie his secounde; forsothe `he ordeynede Jahiel, and Semiramoth, and Jahel, and Mathathie, and Eliab, and Banaye, and Obededom, and Jehiel, on the orguns, on the sautrie, and on the harpis; but he ordeynede Asaph to sowne with cymbalis;
6 Or Banaïas et Jaziel, prêtres, devaient sonner continuellement de la trompette devant l’arche de l’alliance du Seigneur.
sotheli he ordeynede Banaye and Aziel, preestis, bifor the arke of the boond of pees of the Lord, for to trumpe contynueli.
7 En ce jour-là, David fit Asaph premier chantre, pour chanter ainsi que ses frères les louanges du Seigneur.
In that dai Dauid made Asaph prince, and hise britheren, for to knowleche `to the Lord.
8 Glorifiez le Seigneur, et invoquez son nom: faites connaître ses œuvres parmi les peuples.
Knowleche ye to the Lord, and inwardli clepe ye his name; make ye hise fyndyngis knowun among puplis.
9 Chantez-le et jouez du psaltérion en son honneur; et racontez toutes ses merveilles.
Synge ye to hym, and seie ye salm to hym, and telle ye alle his merueylis.
10 Louez son saint nom: qu’il se réjouisse, le cœur de ceux qui cherchent le Seigneur.
Preise ye his hooli name; the herte of men sekynge the Lord be glad.
11 Cherchez le Seigneur et sa force: cherchez sa face sans cesse.
Seke ye the Lord and his vertu; seke ye euere his face.
12 Souvenez-vous de ses merveilles qu’il a faites, de ses prodiges, et des jugements de sa bouche.
Haue ye mynde of hise merueilis whiche he dide; of hise signes, and of the domes of his mouth.
13 Postérité d’Israël, son serviteur, enfants de Jacob, son élu.
The seed of Israel, his seruaunt, preise thou God; the sones of Jacob, his chosun, preise ye God.
14 Il est le Seigneur notre Dieu: ses jugements sont sur toute la terre.
He is `oure Lord God; hise domes ben in ech lond.
15 Souvenez-vous à jamais de son alliance, et de la parole qu’il a prescrite pour mille générations,
Haue ye mynde with outen ende of his couenaunt; of the word whiche he couenauntide `in to a thousynde generaciouns.
16 Qu’il a conclue avec Abraham, et de son serment à Isaac;
Which word he couenauntide with Abraham; and of his ooth to Ysaac.
17 Et il a fait de ce serment un précepte pour Jacob, et une alliance éternelle avec Israël,
And he ordeynede that to Jacob in to a comaundement; and to Israel in to euerlastynge couenaunt.
18 Disant: Je te donnerai la terre de Chanaan pour corde de votre héritage,
And seide, To thee Y schal yyue the lond of Canaan; the part of youre erytage.
19 Lorsqu’ils étaient en petit nombre, faibles et étrangers dans cette terre.
Whanne thei weren fewe in noumbre; litle, and pilgrims therof.
20 Et ils passèrent de nation en nation, et d’un royaume à un autre peuple.
And thei passiden fro folk in to the folk; and fro a rewme to another puple.
21 Il ne permit pas que quelqu’un les outrageât; et il punit même des rois à cause d’eux.
He suffride not ony man falseli chalenge hem; but he blamyde kyngis for hem.
22 Ne touchez point à mes oints, et ne maltraitez pas mes prophètes.
Nyle ye touche my cristis; and nyle ye do wickidli ayens my prophetis.
23 Chantez le Seigneur, habitants de toute la terre: annoncez de jour en jour son salut.
Al erthe, singe ye to the Lord; telle ye fro dai into dai his helthe.
24 Racontez parmi les nations sa gloire, et parmi tous les peuples ses merveilles.
Telle ye among hethen men his glorie; hise merueylis among alle puplis.
25 Parce que le Seigneur est grand, digne de louanges infinies, et plus terrible que tous les dieux.
For the Lord is greet, and worthi to be preisid ful myche; and he is orible, `ethir griseful, ouer alle goddis.
26 Car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles; mais le Seigneur a fait les deux.
For alle the goddis of puplis ben idols; but the Lord made heuenes.
27 La gloire et la majesté sont devant lui: la force et la joie, dans le lieu qu’il habite.
Knoulechyng and greet doyng ben bifor hym; strengthe and ioy ben in the place of hym.
28 Familles des peuples, apportez au Seigneur; apportez au Seigneur la gloire et la puissance.
Ye meynees of puplis, `bringe ye to the Lord; brynge ye to the Lord glorie and empire.
29 Donnez au Seigneur la gloire due à son nom: apportez un sacrifice, et venez en sa présence, et adorez le Seigneur dans une sainte parure.
Yyue ye glorie to his name, reise ye sacrifice, and come ye in his siyt; and worschipe ye the Lord in hooli fairnesse.
30 Que toute la terre tremble devant sa face; car c’est lui qui a fondé l’univers inébranlable.
Al erthe be mouyd fro his face; for he foundide the world vnmouable.
31 Que les cieux se réjouissent; que la terre tressaille de joie, et qu’on dise parmi les nations: Le Seigneur règne.
Heuenes be glad, and the erthe `ioy fulli; and seie thei among naciouns, The Lord schal regne.
32 Que la mer mugisse et toute sa plénitude; que les champs tressaillent de joie, et tout ce qui est en eux.
The see thundre, and his fulnesse; the feeldis fulli ioye, and alle thingis that ben in tho.
33 Alors les arbres de la forêt chanteront des louanges devant le Seigneur, parce qu’il est venu pour juger la terre.
Thanne the trees of the forest schulen preyse bifor the Lord; for he cometh to deme the erthe.
34 Glorifiez le Seigneur, parce qu’il est bon, parce que sa miséricorde est éternelle;
Knouleche ye to the Lord, for he is good; for his mersi is withouten ende.
35 Et dites: Sauvez-nous, Dieu, noire Sauveur; rassemblez-nous, et délivrez-nous des nations, afin que nous glorifiions votre saint nom, et que nous tressaillions de joie au milieu de vos cantiques.
And seie ye, Thou God oure sauyour, saue vs, and gadere vs, and delyuere vs fro hethen men; that we knowleche to thin hooli name, and be fulli glade in thi songis.
36 Béni le Seigneur Dieu d’Israël, de siècle en siècle! et que tout le peuple dise: Amen, et un hymne au Seigneur.
Blessid be the Lord God of Israel fro with oute bigynnyng and til `in to with outen ende; and al the puple seie, Amen, and seie heriyng to God.
37 C’est pourquoi David laissa là, devant l’arche du Seigneur, Asaph et ses frères, afin qu’ils servissent continuellement en la présence de l’arche, tous les jours, chacun à leur tour.
Therfor Dauid lefte there, bifor the arke of boond of pees of the Lord, Asaph and hise britheren, for to mynystre in the siyt of the arke contynueli bi alle daies and her whilis.
38 Mais Obédédom et ses frères étaient au nombre de soixante-huit; et Obédédom, fils d’Idithun, et Hosa, ils les établit portiers.
Forsothe he ordeynede porteris, Obededom and hise britheren, eiyte and sixti, and Obededom, the sone of Idithum, and Oza.
39 Il établit en outre Sadoc comme prêtre, et ses frères comme prêtres devant le tabernacle du Seigneur, sur le lieu élevé qui était à Gabaon,
Sotheli `he ordeynede Sadoch preest, and hise britheren, preestis bifor the tabernacle of the Lord, in the hiy place that was in Gabaon,
40 Afin d’offrir des holocaustes au Seigneur sur l’autel de l’holocauste, continuellement, le matin et le soir, selon tout ce qui est écrit dans la loi que le Seigneur a prescrite à Israël.
for to offre brent sacrifices to the Lord on the auter of brent sacrifice contynueli, in the morwetid and euentid, bi alle thingis that ben writun in the lawe of the Lord, which he comaundide to Israel.
41 Après Sadoc étaient Héman et Idithun, et les autres, désignés chacun par son nom, pour glorifier le Seigneur, disant: Sa miséricorde est éternelle.
And aftir hym Dauyd ordeynede Eman, and Idithum, and other chosene, ech man bi his name, for to knowleche to the Lord; for his mercy is withouten ende.
42 Héman et Idithun jouaient aussi de la trompette et touchaient les cymbales, et tous les instruments de musique, pour chanter Dieu; mais les fils d’idithun, David les établit portiers.
Also he ordeynede Eman, and Idithum, trumpynge, and schakynge cymbalis, and alle orguns of musikis, for to synge to God; forsothe he made the sones of Idithum to be portours, `ether bereris.
43 Ensuite tout le peuple s’en retourna en sa maison, ainsi que David, pour bénir aussi sa maison.
And al the puple turnede ayen in to her hows, and Dauid turnede ayen, to blesse also his hows.
