Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
5 Les fils de Japheth sont Gomer, et Magog, et Madaï, et Javan, Thubal, Mosoch, Thiras;
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Meshech, and Thirass.
6 Or les fils de Gomer, Ascenez, Riphath et Thogorma;
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenas, and Diphath, and Thogarmah.
7 Mais les fils de Javan, Elisa et Tharsis, Cethim et Dodanim;
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tharshishah, Kittim, and Rodanim.
8 Les fils de Cham, Chus, Mesraïm, Phut, et Chanaan.
The sons of Ham: Cush, and Misrayim, Put, and Canaan.
9 Mais les fils de Chus, Saba, et Hévila, Sabatha, et Regma, et Sabathacha. Or les fils de Regma sont Saba et Dadan.
And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Chavilah, and Sabta, and Ra'mah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Ra'mah: Sheba, and Dedan.
10 Mais Chus engendra Nemrod; celui-ci commença à être puissant sur la terre.
And Cush begat Nimrod: this one began to be a mighty man upon the earth.
11 Or Mesraïm engendra Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, et Nephtuim,
And Mizrayim begat the Ludim, and there the 'Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuchim,
12 Ainsi que Phétrusim et Casiuim, desquels sont sortis Philistiim et Caphtorim.
And the Pathrussim, and the Cassluchim, of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphthorim.
13 Or Chanaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, ainsi que Heth, et
And Canaan begat Zidon, his first-born, and Heth.
14 Le Jébuséen, l’Amorrhéen, le Gergéséen,
And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgashite,
15 L’Hévéen, l’Aracéen, le Sinéen,
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
16 Ainsi que l’Aradien, le Samaréen et l’Amathéen.
And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Chamathite.
17 Les fils de Sem sont: Elam, Assur, Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, Hus, Hul, Géther et Mosoch.
The sons of Shem: 'Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and 'Uz, and Chul, and Gether, and Meshech.
18 Or Arphaxad engendra Salé, qui lui-même engendra Héber.
And Arpachshad begat Shelach, and Shelach begat 'Eber.
19 Mais à Héber naquirent deux fils: le nom de l’un fut Phaleg, parce qu’en ses jours la terre fut divisée; et le nom de son frère, Jectan.
And unto 'Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
20 Or Jectan engendra Elmodad, Saleph, Asarmoth et Jaré,
And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Chazarmaveth, and Jerach,
21 Ainsi qu’Adoram, Huzal, Décla,
And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
22 Et aussi Hébal, Abimaël, Saba, et de plus
And 'Ebal and Abimael, and Sheba,
23 Ophir, Hévila, et Jobab; tous ceux-là sont les fils de Jectan:
And Ophir, and Chavilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24 Sem engendra donc Arphaxad, Salé,
Shem, Arpachshad, Shelach,
25 Héber, Phaleg, Ragaü,
'Eber, Peleg, Re'u,
26 Sérug, Nachor, Tharé,
Serug, Nachor, Terach,
27 Abram: c’est le même qu’Abraham.
Abram, the same is Abraham.
28 Or les enfants d’Abraham sont Isaac et Ismahel.
The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishma'el.
29 Et voici leurs générations. Le premier-né d’Ismahel fut Nabaïoth, ensuite Cédar, Adbéel, Mabsam,
These are their generations: The first-born of Ishma'el, Nebayoth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
30 Masma, Duma, Massa, Hadad et Théma,
Mishma', and Dumah, Massa, Chadad, and Thema,
31 Jétur, Naphis, Cedma; ce sont là les fils d’Ismahel.
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishma'el.
32 Mais les fils que Cétura, femme du second rang d’Abraham, enfanta, sont Zamran, Jecsan, Madan, Madian, Jesboc et Sué; et les fils de Jecsan, Saba et Dadan; et les fils de Dadan, Assurim, Latussim et Laomim.
And the sons of Keturah, the concubine of Abraham: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Yishbak, and Shuach. And the sons Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
33 Or les fils de Madian sont Epha, Epher, Hénoch, Abida, Eldaa; tous ceux-là sont fils de Cétura.
And the sons of Midian: 'Ephah, and 'Epher, and Chanoch, and Abida', and Elda'ah. All these are the sons of Keturah.
34 Mais Abraham engendra Isaac, dont les fils furent Esaü et Israël.
And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
35 Les fils d’Esaü, Eliphaz, Rahuel, Jéhus, Ihélom et Coré;
The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Re'uel, and Ye'ush, and Ya'lam, and Korach.
36 Les fils d’Eliphaz, Théman, Omar, Séphi, Gathan, Cénez, Thamna, Amalec.
The sons of Eliphaz: Theman, and Omar, Zephi, and Ga'tam, Kenas, and Thimna', and 'Amalek.
37 Les fils de Rahuel, Nahath, Zara, Samma, Méza.
The sons of Re'uel: Nachath, Zerach, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38 Les fils de Séir: Lotan, Sobal, Sébéon, Ana, Dison, Eser, Disan.
And the sons of Se'ir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zib'on, and 'Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
39 Les fils de Lotan: Hori, Homam. Or la sœur de Lothan était Thamna.
And the sons of Lotan: Chori, and Homam: and the sister of Lotan: Thimna'.
40 Les fils de Sobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Séphi et Onam. Les fils de Cébéon: Aïa, et Ana. Les fils d’Ana: Dison.
The sons of Shobal: 'Alyan, and Manachath, and 'Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zib'on: 'Ayah, and 'Anah.
41 Les fils de Dison: Hamram, Eséban, Jéthran, et Charan.
The sons of 'Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Chamran, and Eshban, and Yithran, and Cheran.
42 Les fils d’Eser: Balaan, Zavan, Jacan. Les fils de Disan: Hus, et Aran.
The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Za'avan, and Ja'akan. The sons of Dishan: 'Uz, and Aran.
43 Voici les rois qui régnèrent dans la terre d’Edom, avant qu’il y eût un roi sur les enfants d’Israël: Balé, fils de Béor, et le nom de sa ville était Dénaba.
And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela' the son of Be'or; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
44 Mais Balé mourut, et régna à sa place Jobab, fils de Zaré de Bosra.
And Bela' died, and there reigned in his stead Jobab the son of Zerach of Bozrah.
45 Et lorsque Jobab fut mort, régna à sa place Husam, de la terre des Thémanites.
And Jobab died, and there reigned in his stead Chusham of the land of Theman.
46 Husam mourut aussi, et régna à sa place Adad, fils de Badad, qui défit les Madianites dans la terre de Moab: et le nom de sa ville était Avith.
And Chusham died and there reigned in his stead Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab; and the name of his city was 'Avith.
47 Et lorsqu’Adad lui-même fut mort, régna à sa place Semla, de Masréca.
And Hadad died, and there reigned in his stead Samlah of Massrekah.
48 Mais Semla aussi mourut, et régna à sa place Saül, de Rohoboth, qui est située près du fleuve.
And Samlah died, and there reigned in his stead Saul of Rechoboth by the river.
49 Saül mort aussi, régna à sa place Balanan, fils d’Achobor.
And Saul died, and there reigned in his stead Ba'al-chanan the son of 'Achbor.
50 Mais celui-ci aussi mourut, et régna à sa place Adad, dont le nom de la ville fut Phaü; et sa femme s’appelait Méétabel, fille de Matred, fille elle-même de Mézaab.
And Ba'al-chanan died, and there reigned in his stead Hadad; and the name of his city was Pa'i; and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
51 Or, Adad mort, des chefs, au lieu des rois, commencèrent à gouverner en Edom: le chef Thamna, le chef Alva, le chef Jétheth,
Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were: Thimna', duke 'Alvah, duke Jetheth,
52 Le chef Oolibama, le chef Ela, le chef Phinon,
Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
53 Le chef Cénez, le chef Théman, le chef Mabsar,
Duke Kenas, duke Theman, duke Mibzar,
54 Le chef Magdiel, le chef Hiram; ce sont là les chefs issus d’Edom.
Duke Magdiel, duke 'Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
