Psaumes 84
1 Au maître-chantre. — Des enfants de Coré. — Sur la Guittith. — Psaume. Que tes demeures sont aimables, Éternel des armées!
To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable [are] thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
2 Mon âme se consume, elle languit Après les parvis de l'Éternel. Mon coeur et ma chair font monter leurs cris de joie Vers le Dieu vivant.
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Le passereau même trouve bien un asile, Et l'hirondelle un nid où elle met ses petits! Tes autels, ô Éternel des armées, Mon Roi et mon Dieu!
Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, [even] thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Heureux ceux qui habitent dans ta maison: Ils peuvent te louer sans cesse! (Pause)
Blessed [are] they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. (Selah)
5 Heureux l'homme dont la force est en toi; Heureux ceux qui aiment le chemin de ta maison!
Blessed [is] the man whose strength [is] in thee; in whose heart [are] the ways [of them].
6 Quand ils traversent la vallée de Baca. Ils la changent en fontaines, Et les pluies la couvrent de bénédictions.
[Who] passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 Leurs forces augmentent, à mesure qu'ils s'avancent Pour se présenter devant Dieu, en Sion.
They go from strength to strength, [every one of them] in Zion appeareth before God.
8 Éternel, Dieu des armées, écoute ma prière! Dieu de Jacob, prête l'oreille! (Pause)
O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 Toi, ô Dieu, qui es notre bouclier, regarde. Et jette les yeux sur ton oint!
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 Car un jour dans tes parvis vaut mieux que mille ailleurs. J'aime mieux me tenir sur le seuil de la maison de mon Dieu, Que demeurer dans les tentes des méchants.
For a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Oui, l'Éternel Dieu est un soleil et un boucher; L'Éternel donne la grâce et la gloire; Il ne refuse aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité.
For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 Éternel des armées. Heureux l'homme qui se confie en toi!
O LORD of hosts, blessed [is] the man that trusteth in thee.
