Psaumes 80
1 Au maître-chantre. — Sur «Les lis rendent témoignage». — Psaume d'Asaph. Prête l'oreille, berger d'Israël! Toi qui conduis Joseph comme un troupeau. Toi dont le trône est au-dessus des chérubins, Fais rayonner ta splendeur!
For the Leader; upon Shoshannim. A testimony. A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that art enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.
2 Devant Éphraïm, Benjamin et Manassé, réveille ta puissance, Et viens nous sauver.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Thy might, and come to save us.
3 Dieu, relève-nous; Fais resplendir ta face, et nous serons sauvés!
O God, restore us; and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
4 Éternel, Dieu des armées, Jusques à quand répondras-tu par la colère A la prière de ton peuple?
O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt Thou be angry against the prayer of Thy people?
5 Tu nous fais manger un pain trempé de nos pleurs; Tu nous abreuves sans mesure de nos larmes.
Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.
6 Tu nous livres aux outrages de nos voisins, Et nos ennemis se raillent de nous.
Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours; and our enemies mock as they please.
7 Dieu des armées, relève-nous; Fais resplendir ta face, et nous serons sauves!
O God of hosts, restore us; and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
8 Tu tiras de l'Egypte une vigne, Et, pour la planter, tu chassas des nations.
Thou didst pluck up a vine out of Egypt; Thou didst drive out the nations, and didst plant it.
9 Tu déblayas le sol devant elle; Elle jeta ses racines et couvrit la terre.
Thou didst clear a place before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land.
10 Les montagnes furent couvertes de son ombre. Et ses rameaux ombrageaient les cèdres de Dieu.
The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the mighty cedars with the boughs thereof.
11 Elle étendait ses pampres jusqu'à la mer, Et ses rejetons jusqu'au fleuve.,
She sent out her branches unto the sea, and her shoots unto the River.
12 Pourquoi as-tu rompu ses clôtures. En sorte que tous les passants la dépouillent,
Why hast Thou broken down her fences, so that all they that pass by the way do pluck her?
13 Que le sanglier des forêts la dévaste. Et que les bêtes des champs en font leur pâture?
The boar out of the wood doth ravage it, that which moveth in the field feedeth on it.
14 Dieu des armées, reviens! Regarde des cieux, vois, et visite cette vigne!
O God of hosts, return, we beseech Thee; look from heaven, and behold, and be mindful of this vine,
15 Protège le cep que ta main droite a planté, Et le rejeton que tu t'es choisi.
And of the stock which Thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that Thou madest strong for Thyself.
16 Ta vigne est brûlée; elle est saccagée; Tout périt devant l'éclat de ton courroux.
It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Thy countenance.
17 Étends ta protection sur le peuple Que ta main droite a choisi, Sur les fils des hommes que tu as élus!
Let Thy hand be upon the man of Thy right hand, upon the son of man whom Thou madest strong for Thyself.
18 Alors, nous ne nous détournerons plus de toi. Rends-nous la vie, et nous invoquerons ton nom.
So shall we not turn back from Thee; quicken Thou us, and we will call upon Thy name.
19 Éternel, Dieu des armées, relève-nous! Fais resplendir ta face, et nous serons sauvés!
O LORD God of hosts, restore us; cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
