Psaumes 138

1 Psaume de David. Je te célébrerai de tout mon coeur; En présence des dieux, je chanterai tes louanges.

[A Psalm] of David. I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.

2 Je me prosternerai devant ton saint temple, Et je célébrerai ton nom, à cause de ta bonté et de ta fidélité; Car tu as magnifiquement accompli ta promesse, Au-delà de ce que ton nom même faisait espérer.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

3 Le jour où je t'ai invoqué, tu m'as exaucé; Tu as rendu le courage et la force à mon âme.

In the day that I called thou answeredst me, thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

4 Tous les rois de la terre te célébreront, ô Éternel, Dès qu'ils auront entendu les paroles de ta bouche.

All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of thy mouth.

5 Ils glorifieront les desseins de l'Éternel; Car la gloire de l'Éternel est grande.

Yea, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD; for great is the glory of the LORD.

6 Oui, l'Éternel, qui est le Très-Haut, sait voir les humbles. Et il reconnaît de loin les superbes.

For though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the haughty he knoweth from afar.

7 Si je passe par l'adversité, tu me rendras la vie; Tu étendras ta main contre la fureur de mes ennemis, Et ta main droite me délivrera.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

8 L'Éternel achèvera ce qu'il a commencé en ma faveur. Éternel, ta bonté dure à toujours! N'abandonne pas l'oeuvre de tes mains!

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.
