Psaumes 135
1 Louez l'Éternel! Louez le nom de l'Éternel; Louez-le, serviteurs de l'Éternel,
Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise [him], O ye servants of the LORD:
2 Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Éternel, Dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Louez l'Éternel; car l'Éternel est bon! Psalmodiez à la gloire de son nom; car il est clément:
Praise ye the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
4 L'Éternel a choisi pour lui Jacob; Il a pris Israël pour son partage.
For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, [and] Israel for his peculiar treasure.
5 Oui, je sais que l'Éternel est grand, Et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 L'Éternel fait tout ce qui lui plaît, Dans les cieux et sur la terre. Dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that hath he done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
7 Il fait monter des extrémités de la terre les nuées; Il fait briller les éclairs au milieu même de la pluie; Il fait sortir le vent de ses réservoirs.
He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
8 C'est lui qui a frappé les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, Depuis les hommes jusqu'aux bêtes.
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
9 Il a fait paraître au milieu de toi, ô Egypte, Des signes et des prodiges, Pour châtier Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs.
He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 Il a frappé de grandes nations. Et mis à mort de puissants rois:
Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings;
11 Sihon, roi des Amoréens. Og, roi de Basan, Et tous les rois de Canaan.
Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
12 Il a fait de leur territoire le patrimoine, Oui, le patrimoine d'Israël, son peuple.
And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.
13 Éternel, ton nom demeure à perpétuité; Éternel, ta mémoire dure d'âge en âge!
Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
14 L'Éternel fera droit à son peuple. Et il aura compassion de ses serviteurs.
For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself concerning his servants.
15 Les idoles des nations ne sont que de l'argent et de l'or. Oeuvres des mains de l'homme,
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
16 Elles ont une bouche, et elles ne parlent pas; Elles ont des yeux, et elles ne voient pas;
They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
17 Elles ont des oreilles, et elles n'entendent pas, Et il n'y a point de souffle dans leur bouche.
They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Ceux qui les fabriquent, Et tous ceux qui mettent leur confiance en elles, Leur deviendront semblables!
They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
19 Maison d'Israël, bénis l'Éternel! Maison d'Aaron, bénis l'Éternel!
O house of Israel, bless ye the LORD: O house of Aaron, bless ye the LORD:
20 Maison de Lévi, bénis l'Éternel! Vous qui craignez l'Éternel, bénissez l'Éternel!
O house of Levi, bless ye the LORD: ye that fear the LORD, bless ye the LORD.
21 Béni soit, de Sion, l'Éternel Qui fait de Jérusalem sa demeure! Louez l'Éternel!
Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
