Marc 8
1 En ces jours-là, comme il y avait de nouveau avec Jésus une grande multitude, qui n'avait rien à manger, il appela les disciples et leur dit:
In those days, the multitude being large, and having nothing which they may eat, Jesus calling His disciples, says to them,
2 J'ai compassion de cette multitude de gens car il y a déjà trois jours qu'ils ne me quittent pas, et ils n'ont rien à manger.
I sympathize with the multitude because three days already abide unto me, and they have nothing which they may eat.
3 Si je les renvoie à jeun dans leurs demeures, les forces leur manqueront en chemin; car quelques-uns sont venus de loin.
If I shall send them away to their homes fasting, they will faint on the road; indeed some of them have come from afar.
4 Ses disciples répondirent: Où pourrait-on, dans ce désert, trouver des pains pour les rassasier?
And His disciples responded, Whence shall any one be able to feed these with bread in the desert?
5 Il leur demanda: Combien avez-vous de pains? Ils dirent: Sept.
And He asked them, How much bread have you? And they said, Seven loaves.
6 Alors il commanda à la foule de s'asseoir à terre; puis il prit les sept pains, et, après avoir rendu grâces, il les rompit et les donna à ses disciples pour les distribuer; et ils les distribuèrent à la foule.
He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, He broke, and gave them to His disciples, that they may dispense them; and they presented them to the multitude.
7 Ils avaient aussi quelques petits poissons; Jésus après avoir rendu grâces, les fit aussi distribuer.
And they had a few fishes: and blessing them, He delivered them.
8 Tous mangèrent et furent rassasiés; et on emporta sept corbeilles pleines des morceaux qui restaient.
And they ate, and were filled: and they took up the residue of the fragments, seven baskets.
9 Or, ils étaient environ quatre mille. Jésus les renvoya;
And those eating were about four thousand. And He sent them away.
10 et, aussitôt après, étant entré dans la barque avec ses disciples, il alla dans le pays de Dalmanutha.
And immediately having gone into the ship with His disciples, He came to the parts of Dalmanutha.
11 Alors survinrent des pharisiens, qui se mirent à disputer avec lui, et ils lui demandèrent, pour le mettre à l'épreuve, un miracle venant du ciel.
And the Pharisees came out, and began to question Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven. tempting Him.
12 Jésus, soupirant en son esprit, dit: Pourquoi cette génération demande-t-elle un miracle? En vérité, je vous le déclare, il ne lui en sera donné aucun.
And groaning in spirit, He says, What sign does this generation seek after? truly I say unto you, No sign shall be given unto this generation.
13 Et, les ayant laissés, il rentra dans la barque et passa à l'autre bord.
And having left them, coming in again He departed to the other side.
14 Or, les disciples avaient oublié de prendre des pains; ils n'en avaient qu'un seul avec eux dans la barque.
And they forgot to take bread; and had but one loaf with them in the ship.
15 Jésus leur fit cette recommandation: Gardez-vous avec soin du levain des pharisiens et du levain d'Hérode.
And He commanded them, saying, See, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 Ils se disaient entre eux: C'est parce que nous n'avons pas de pains!
And they were reasoning to one another, saying, It is because we have not bread.
17 Mais Jésus, s'en étant aperçu, leur dit: Pourquoi vous dites- vous: c'est parce que nous n'avons pas de pains? N'entendez-vous pas et ne comprenez-vous pas encore? Avez-vous toujours un coeur endurci?
And Jesus knowing says to them, Why do you reason because you have not bread? do you not yet know, nor understand? have you your heart still hardened?
18 Vous avez des yeux, et vous ne voyez pas! Vous avez des oreilles, et, vous n'entendez point! N'avez-vous donc pas de mémoire?
Having eyes, do you not see? having ears, do you not hear? and do you not remember?
19 Lorsque j'ai rompu les cinq pains pour les cinq mille hommes, combien avez-vous emporté de paniers pleins de morceaux? Ils lui répondirent Douze.
When I broke the five loaves to the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up? They say to Him, Twelve.
20 Et lorsque j'ai rompu les sept pains pour les quatre mille hommes, combien avez-vous emporté de corbeilles pleines de morceaux? Ils lui répondirent: Sept.
And when the seven loaves to the four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up? And they said, Seven.
21 Puis il leur dit N'avez-vous pas encore compris?
And He said to them, Do you not yet understand?
22 Ils allèrent ensuite à Bethsaïda. On amena à Jésus un aveugle, et on le pria de le toucher.
And they come into Bethsaida: and they bring Him a blind man, and they intreat Him that He may touch him.
23 Alors il prit l'aveugle par la main, et, l'ayant conduit hors du village, il lui mit de la salive sur les yeux, lui imposa les mains, et lui demanda s'il voyait quelque chose.
And taking the blind man by the hand, He led him out of the village; and spitting in his eyes, putting His hands on him, He asked him, if he sees anything.
24 L'aveugle, ayant regardé, dit: J'aperçois des hommes qui marchent, pareils à des arbres.
And looking up he said, I see the men walking about like trees.
25 Ensuite Jésus lui mit de nouveau les mains sur les yeux. L'aveugle regarda; il fut guéri, et il voyait tout distinctement.
Then again He put His hands on his eyes, and he looked up; and was restored, and saw all things distinctly.
26 Jésus le renvoya dans sa maison et lui dit: Ne rentre pas dans le village.
And He sent him to his own house, saying, Go not into the village.
27 Jésus, étant parti de là avec ses disciples, vint dans les villages voisins de Césarée de Philippe. Chemin faisant, il demanda à ses disciples: Qui dit-on, parmi les hommes, que je suis?
And Jesus and His disciples went away into the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He asked His disciples, saying to them, Whom do the people say that I am?
28 Ils répondirent: Les uns disent: Jean-Baptiste; d'autres, Elie; et d'autres, l'un des prophètes.
And they answered Him saying, John the Baptist: and others, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets.
29 Il leur dit: Mais vous, qui dites-vous que je suis? Pierre lui répondit: Tu es le Christ!
And He asked them, Whom do you say that I am? And Peter responding says to Him, Thou art the Christ.
30 Et Jésus leur défendit sévèrement de dire cela de lui à personne.
And He charged them that they should speak to no one concerning Him.
31 Alors il commença à leur enseigner qu'il fallait que le fils de l'homme souffrît beaucoup, qu'il fût rejeté par les anciens, par les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes, qu'il fût mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscitât trois jours après.
And He began to teach them, that it behooves the Son of man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise.
32 Il leur en parlait ouvertement. Pierre, l'ayant pris à part, se mit à lui faire des remontrances.
And He was boldly speaking the word. And Peter taking Him to him began to rebuke Him.
33 Mais Jésus, se retournant et regardant ses disciples, censura Pierre et lui dit: Arrière de moi, Satan! Car tes pensées ne viennent pas de Dieu! Tu penses comme les hommes!
And He turning and seeing His disciples rebuked Peter, and says, Get behind me, adversary: because thou art not thinking the things of God, but those of men.
34 Puis, ayant appelé le peuple avec ses disciples, il leur dit: Si quelqu'un veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à lui- même, qu'il se charge de sa croix et qu'il me suive.
And calling the multitude to Him with His disciples, He said to them, Whosoever wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 Car celui qui voudra sauver sa vie la perdra; mais celui qui perdra sa vie à cause de moi et de l'Évangile, la sauvera.
For whosoever may wish to save his soul shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his soul for my sake and that of the gospel shall save it.
36 Et que servirait-il à un homme de gagner le monde entier, s'il perdait son âme?
For what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Ou bien, que donnerait l'homme en échange de son âme?
For what would a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Car si quelqu'un a honte de moi et de mes paroles, au milieu de cette génération adultère et pécheresse, le Fils de l'homme aura aussi honte de lui, lorsqu'il viendra dans la gloire de son Père avec les saints anges.
For whosoever may be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and wicked generation, the Son of man shall also be ashamed of him, when He may come in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
