Marc 15
1 Dès le matin, les principaux sacrificateurs tinrent conseil avec les anciens et les scribes et tout le Sanhédrin; et, après avoir fait lier Jésus, ils l'emmenèrent et le livrèrent à Pilate.
Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders, scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, bound Jesus, carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
2 Pilate lui demanda: C'est toi qui es le roi des Juifs? Jésus lui répondit: Tu le dis!
Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered, “So you say.”
3 Les principaux sacrificateurs portaient contre lui plusieurs accusations;
The chief priests accused him of many things.
4 et Pilate l'interrogea encore et lui dit: Ne réponds-tu rien? Vois combien d'accusations ils portent contre toi!
Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!”
5 Mais Jésus ne répondit plus rien, de sorte que Pilate en était étonné.
But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marvelled.
6 Or, à chaque fête de Pâque, il leur relâchait un prisonnier, celui qu'ils demandaient.
Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whomever they asked of him.
7 Il y en avait un, nommé Barabbas, qui était en prison avec des séditieux, pour un meurtre qu'ils avaient commis dans une émeute.
There was one called Barabbas, bound with his fellow insurgents, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8 La foule, étant montée, se mit à demander que Pilate leur fît comme il avait toujours fait.
The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.
9 Il leur répondit: Voulez-vous que je vous relâche le roi des Juifs?
Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
10 Car il comprenait bien que c'était par jalousie que les principaux sacrificateurs l'avaient livré.
For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
11 Mais les principaux sacrificateurs poussèrent la foule à demander qu'il leur relâchât plutôt Barabbas.
But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.
12 Pilate reprit la parole et leur dit: Que ferai-je donc de celui que vous appelez le roi des Juifs?
Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”
13 Ils crièrent de nouveau: Crucifie-le!
They cried out again, “Crucify him!”
14 Pilate leur dit: Mais quel mal a-t-il fait? Ils crièrent plus fort: Crucifie-le!
Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, “Crucify him!”
15 Pilate, voulant satisfaire la foule, leur relâcha Barabbas; et, après avoir fait battre Jésus de verges, il le leur livra pour qu'il fût crucifié.
Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.
16 Les soldats emmenèrent Jésus à l'intérieur de la cour, c'est-à-dire dans le prétoire, et ils y rassemblèrent toute la cohorte.
The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.
17 Ils le revêtirent d'un manteau de pourpre, placèrent sur sa tête une couronne d'épines qu'ils avaient tressée,
They clothed him with purple; and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
18 et ils se mirent à le saluer, en disant: Roi des Juifs, salut!
They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 Ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, ils crachaient sur lui, et, fléchissant le genou, ils se prosternaient devant lui.
They struck his head with a reed and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.
20 Après s'être ainsi moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent le manteau de pourpre, lui remirent ses vêtements, et l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.
When they had mocked him, they took the purple cloak off him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.
21 Un certain Simon, de Cyrène, père d'Alexandre et de Rufus, passait par là en revenant des champs; ils le contraignirent à porter la croix.
They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them that he might bear his cross.
22 Et ils conduisirent Jésus au lieu appelé Golgotha, ce qui signifie: le lieu du Crâne.
They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “The place of a skull.”
23 Ils lui présentèrent à boire du vin, mêlé de myrrhe; mais il n'en prit point.
They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.
24 Après l'avoir crucifié, ils se partagèrent ses vêtements, en les tirant au sort, pour savoir ce que chacun en aurait.
Crucifying him, they parted his garments amongst them, casting lots on them, what each should take.
25 C'était la troisième heure, quand ils le crucifièrent.
It was the third hour when they crucified him.
26 Le motif de sa condamnation était marqué par cette inscription: Le Roi des Juifs.
The superscription of his accusation was written over him: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
27 On crucifia aussi avec lui deux brigands, l'un à sa droite, l'autre à sa gauche.
With him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.
28 [Ainsi s'accomplit cette parole des Écritures: «Il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs.»]
The Scripture was fulfilled which says, “He was counted with transgressors.”
29 Ceux qui passaient par là l'outrageaient en hochant la tête et en disant: Hé! Toi qui détruis le temple et qui le rebâtis en trois jours,
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,
30 sauve-toi toi-même, et descends de la croix!
save yourself, and come down from the cross!”
31 De même aussi, les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes disaient entre eux, en se moquant: Il en a sauvé d'autres; il ne peut se sauver lui-même!
Likewise, also the chief priests mocking amongst themselves with the scribes said, “He saved others. He can’t save himself.
32 Que le Christ, le roi d'Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions! Et ceux qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l'injuriaient aussi.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.
33 Quand la sixième heure arriva, il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays, jusqu'à la neuvième heure.
When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 A la neuvième heure, Jésus cria d'une voix forte: Eloï, Eloï, lamma sabachtani. — c'est-à-dire: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné?
At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
35 Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient présents, l'ayant entendu, disaient: Voyez, il appelle Élie!
Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”
36 L'un d'eux courut remplir une éponge de vinaigre, la mit au bout d'un roseau, et il lui offrit à boire en disant: Laissez; voyons si Élie viendra le faire descendre!
One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to take him down.”
37 Mais Jésus, ayant jeté un grand cri, expira.
Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.
38 Alors le voile du temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu'en bas.
The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
39 Le centenier, qui se tenait en face de Jésus, l'ayant vu expirer ainsi, dit: Cet homme était véritablement le Fils de Dieu!
When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
40 Il y avait aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin. De ce nombre étaient Marié-Madeleine, Marie, Mère de Jacques le mineur et de Joses, et Salomé,
There were also women watching from afar, amongst whom were both Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
41 qui le suivaient et le servaient, lorsqu'il était en Galilée, ainsi que plusieurs autres qui étaient montées avec lui à Jérusalem.
who, when he was in Galilee, followed him and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
42 Le soir était déjà venu, et c'était un jour de préparation, c'est-à-dire la veille du sabbat.
When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
43 Alors arriva Joseph d'Arimathée, membre considéré du Sanhédrin, et qui attendait, lui aussi, le royaume de Dieu. Il eut le courage de se présenter devant Pilate pour lui demander le corps de Jésus.
Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.
44 Pilate s'étonna que Jésus fût mort si tôt; et, ayant appelé le centenier, il lui demanda s'il y avait longtemps qu'il était mort.
Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.
45 Informé par le centenier, il accorda le corps à Joseph.
When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
46 Celui-ci, ayant acheté un linceul, descendit Jésus de la croix, l'enveloppa dans ce linceul et le mit dans un tombeau qui était taillé dans le roc; puis il roula une pierre à l'entrée du tombeau.
He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
47 Or, Marie-Madeleine et Marie, mère de Joses, regardaient où on le mettait.
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.
