1 Commencement de l'Évangile de Jésus-Christ, Fils de Dieu.
The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 Conformément à ce qui est écrit dans le prophète Ésaïe: «Je vais envoyer mon messager devant ta face, et il te préparera le chemin.
As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, "Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.
3 Une voix crie dans le désert: Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, aplanissez ses sentiers». —
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his roads straight.'"
4 Jean parut dans le désert, baptisant et prêchant le baptême de repentance, pour la rémission des péchés.
John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
5 Toute la Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem allaient à lui, et, confessant leurs péchés, ils étaient baptisés par lui dans les eaux du Jourdain.
And all the country of Judea went out to him and all those from Jerusalem, and they were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
6 Jean avait un vêtement de poil de chameau et une ceinture de cuir autour des reins; il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage.
And John was clothed with camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7 Et il prêchait, en disant: Il vient après moi, celui qui est plus puissant que moi; et je ne suis pas digne de délier, en me baissant, la courroie de ses chaussures.
And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
8 Moi, je vous ai baptisés d'eau; mais lui, il vous baptisera d'Esprit saint.
I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit."
9 Or, il arriva, en ces jours-là, que Jésus vint de Nazareth, ville de Galilée, et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
And it happened in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 Au moment où il sortait de l'eau, il vit les cieux s'ouvrir et l'Esprit descendre sur lui comme une colombe.
Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting, and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
11 Et il vint des cieux une voix qui disait: Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j'ai mis toute mon affection.
And a voice came out of the sky, "You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased."
12 Aussitôt l'Esprit poussa Jésus au désert.
And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13 Il passa quarante jours dans le désert, tenté par Satan; il était avec les bêtes sauvages, et les anges le servaient.
He was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14 Après que Jean eut été mis en prison, Jésus se rendit en Galilée, prêchant l'Évangile de Dieu.
Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the Good News of God,
15 Il disait: Le temps est accompli, et le royaume de Dieu est proche. Repentez-vous et croyez à l'Évangile.
and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is near. Repent, and believe in the Good News."
16 Comme il marchait le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et André, son frère, qui jetaient le filet dans la mer; car ils étaient pêcheurs.
And passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17 Jésus leur dit: Suivez-moi, et je vous ferai devenir pêcheurs d'hommes.
Jesus said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you into fishers of people."
18 Aussitôt, laissant leurs filets, ils le suivirent.
And immediately they left the nets, and followed him.
19 Étant allé un peu plus loin, il vit Jacques, fils de Zébcdce, et Jean son frère, qui étaient aussi dans une barque, raccommodant leurs filets.
And going on a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20 Il les appela aussitôt; et, laissant Zébédée leur père dans la barque avec les ouvriers, ils le suivirent.
And immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21 Ensuite ils se rendirent à Capernaüm; et aussitôt, le jour du sabbat, Jésus étant entré dans la synagogue, se mit à y enseigner.
And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 On était frappé de son enseignement; car il enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non pas comme les scribes.
And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Or, il y avait, à ce moment même, dans la synagogue, un homme possédé d'un esprit impur.
And just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted,
24 Il s'écria: Qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Es-tu venu pour nous perdre? Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu!
saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God."
25 Mais Jésus le reprit sévèrement et lui dit: Tais-toi, et sors de cet homme!
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him."
26 Alors l'esprit impur, le secouant avec violence et poussant un grand cri, sortit de lui.
And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Ils furent tous dans l'étonnement, de sorte qu'ils se demandaient entre eux: Qu'est-ce que ceci? C'est un enseignement tout nouveau! Celui-là commande avec autorité, même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent!
And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."
28 Et sa renommée se répandit aussitôt dans toute la contrée environnante, en Galilée.
And at once the news of him went out everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29 Dès qu'ils furent sortis de la synagogue, ils vinrent avec Jacques et Jean dans la maison de Simon et d'André.
And Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 Or, la belle-mère de Simon était au lit, malade de la fièvre; et aussitôt ils lui parlèrent d'elle.
Now Simon's mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31 Alors il s'approcha, et, la prenant par la main, il la fit lever; la fièvre la quitta, et elle se mit à les servir.
And he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.
32 Quand le soir fut venu, après le coucher du soleil, on lui amena tous les malades et les démoniaques.
At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons.
33 Toute la ville était rassemblée devant la porte.
And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 Il guérit plusieurs malades atteints de divers maux, et il chassa plusieurs démons, ne permettant pas aux démons de dire qu'ils le connaissaient.
And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 Le lendemain matin, comme il faisait encore fort obscur, s'étant levé, il sortit et s'en alla dans un lieu écarté; et il y priait.
And early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
36 Simon et ceux qui étaient avec lui se mirent à sa recherche.
And Simon and those who were with him followed after him;
37 L'ayant trouvé, ils lui dirent: Tous te cherchent!
and they found him, and told him, "Everyone is looking for you."
38 Il leur répondit: Allons ailleurs, dans les bourgs des environs, afin que j'y prêche aussi; car c'est pour cela que je suis venu.
And he said to them, "Let us go somewhere else into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason."
39 Et il allait par toute la Galilée, prêchant dans les synagogues et chassant les démons.
And he went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
40 Un lépreux vint à lui, et, s'étant jeté à genoux, il lui adressait cette prière: Si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre net.
And a leper came to him, begging him, and knelt down and said to him, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
41 Jésus, ému de compassion, étendit la main, le toucha et lui dit: Je le veux, sois net!
And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed."
42 A l'instant, la lèpre disparut, et cet homme devint net.
And immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
43 Jésus le renvoya aussitôt, en lui faisant, d'une voix sévère, cette recommandation:
And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,
44 Garde-toi d'en parler à personne; mais va, montre-toi au sacrificateur, et offre pour ta purification ce que Moïse a prescrit, afin que cela leur serve de témoignage.
and said to him, "See you say nothing to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."
45 Mais cet homme, étant parti, se mit à publier le fait et à le raconter partout, de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus entrer ouvertement dans une ville; mais il se tenait dehors dans des lieux écartés. Et l'on venait à lui de toutes parts.
But he went out, and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.
