Luc 13
1 En ce même temps, quelques personnes, qui se trouvaient là, racontèrent à Jésus ce qui était arrivé aux Galiléens, dont Pilate avait mêlé le sang à celui de leurs sacrifices.
There were certaine men present at the same season, that shewed him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: Pensez-vous que ces Galiléens fussent de plus grands pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens, parce qu'ils ont souffert ainsi?
And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Suppose ye, that these Galileans were greater sinners then al the other Galileans, because they haue suffered such things?
3 Non? vous dis-je; mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous pareillement.
I tell you, nay: but except ye amend your liues, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Ou bien, ces dix-huit personnes, sur qui la tour de Siloé est tombée et qu'elle a tuées, pensez-vous qu'elles fussent plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem?
Or thinke you that those eighteene, vpon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slewe them, were sinners aboue all men that dwel in Hierusalem?
5 Non, vous dis-je; mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous également.
I tell you, nay: but except ye amend your liues, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 Il disait aussi cette parabole: Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne; il vint y chercher du fruit et n'en trouva point.
He spake also this parable, A certaine man had a figge tree planted in his vineyard: and he came and sought fruite thereon, and found none.
7 Alors il dit au vigneron: Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit à ce figuier et que je n'en trouve pas. Coupe-le; pourquoi occupe-t-il la terre inutilement?
Then said he to the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, this three yeeres haue I come and sought fruite of this figge tree, and finde none: cut it downe: why keepeth it also the ground barren?
8 Le vigneron lui répondit: Seigneur, laisse-le encore cette année; je creuserai tout autour et j'y mettrai du fumier.
And he answered, and said vnto him, Lord, let it alone this yeere also, till I digge round about it, and doung it.
9 Peut-être qu'à l'avenir il portera du fruit; sinon tu le feras couper.
And if it beare fruite, well: if not, then after thou shalt cut it downe.
10 Jésus enseignait dans une synagogue un jour de sabbat.
And he taught in one of ye Synagogues on the Sabbath day.
11 Or, il y avait là une femme possédée d'un esprit qui la rendait infirme depuis dix-huit ans; elle était courbée et ne pouvait pas du tout se redresser.
And behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmitie eighteene yeeres, and was bowed together, and coulde not lift vp her selfe in any wise.
12 Jésus, la voyant, l'appela et lui dit: Femme, tu es délivrée de ton infirmité;
When Iesus sawe her, he called her to him, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thy disease.
13 et il lui imposa les mains. A l'instant, elle se redressa, et elle se mit à rendre gloire à Dieu.
And he laide his handes on her, and immediately she was made straight againe, and glorified God.
14 Alors le chef de la synagogue, indigné de ce que Jésus avait fait cette guérison un jour de sabbat, prit la parole et, dit à la foule: Il y a six jours pendant lesquels on doit travailler venez donc ces jours-là pour être guéris, et non pas le jour du sabbat.
And the ruler of the Synagogue answered with indignation, because that Iesus healed on the Sabbath day, and said vnto the people, There are sixe dayes in which men ought to worke: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.
15 Mais le Seigneur lui répondit: Hypocrites, chacun de vous, le jour du sabbat, ne détache-t-il pas de la crèche son boeuf ou son âne pour le mener boire?
Then answered him the Lord, and said, Hypocrite, doth not eche one of you on the Sabbath day loose his oxe or his asse from the stall, and leade him away to the water?
16 Et cette fille d'Abraham, que Satan tenait liée depuis dix-huit ans, ne fallait-il pas la délivrer de ce lien le jour du sabbat?
And ought not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, loe, eighteene yeeres, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?
17 Comme il parlait ainsi, tons ses adversaires étaient confus, et tout le peuple se réjouissait de toutes les choses glorieuses qu'il accomplissait.
And when he said these things, all his aduersaries were ashamed: but all the people reioyced at all the excellent things, that were done by him.
18 Et Jésus disait donc: A quoi ressemble le royaume de Dieu, et à quoi le comparerai-je?
Then said he, What is the kingdome of God like? or whereto shall I compare it?
19 Il est semblable à un grain de moutarde, qu'un homme a pris et a jeté dans son jardin; il a poussé, il est devenu un arbre et les oiseaux du ciel ont fait leurs nids dans ses branches.
It is like a graine of mustard seede, which a man tooke and sowed in his garden, and it grewe, and waxed a great tree, and the foules of the heauen made nestes in the branches thereof.
20 Il dit encore: A quoi comparerai-je le royaume de Dieu?
And againe he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdome of God?
21 Il est semblable à du levain qu'une femme prend, et qu'elle mêle à trois mesures de farine, pour faire lever toute la pâte.
It is like leauen, which a woman tooke, and hid in three peckes of floure, till all was leauened.
22 Jésus traversait les villes et les villages, en enseignant, tandis qu'il se dirigeait vers Jérusalem.
And he went through all cities and townes, teaching, and iourneying towards Hierusalem.
23 Quelqu'un lui demanda: Seigneur, n'y a-t-il qu'un petit nombre de gens qui soient sauvés? Il leur répondit:
Then saide one vnto him, Lord, are there fewe that shalbe saued? And he said vnto them,
24 Efforcez-vous d'entrer par la porte étroite; car je vous le déclare, il y en a beaucoup qui chercheront à entrer, et ils ne le pourront pas.
Striue to enter in at the straite gate: for many, I say vnto you, will seeke to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 Et quand le maître de la maison se sera levé et aura fermé la porte, et que vous, qui serez restés dehors, vous vous mettrez à frapper et à dire: Seigneur, ouvre-nous! — il vous répondra: Je ne sais d'où vous êtes.
When the good man of the house is risen vp, and hath shut to the doore, and ye begin to stand without, and to knocke at the doore, saying, Lord, Lord, open to vs, and he shall answere and say vnto you, I know you not whence ye are,
26 Alors vous vous mettrez à dire: Nous avons mangé et bu en ta présence, et tu as enseigné sur nos places publiques.
Then shall ye begin to say, We haue eaten and drunke in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streetes.
27 Et il répondra: Je vous le dis, je ne sais d'où vous êtes; retirez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d'iniquité!
But he shall say, I tell you, I knowe you not whence ye are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquitie.
28 C'est là qu'il y aura des pleurs et, des grincements de dents, quand vous verrez Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, et tous les prophètes, dans le royaume de Dieu, et que vous serez jetés dehors.
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham and Isaac, and Iacob, and all the Prophets in the kingdome of God, and your selues thrust out at doores.
29 Il en viendra de l'Orient et de l'Occident, du Nord et du Midi, qui se mettront à table dans le royaume de Dieu.
Then shall come many from the East, and from the West, and from the North, and from the South, and shall sit at Table in the kingdome of God.
30 Et voici qu'il y en a des derniers qui seront les premiers; et il y en a des premiers qui seront les derniers.
And beholde, there are last, which shalbe first, and there are first, which shalbe last.
31 A ce moment-là, quelques pharisiens vinrent lui dire: Pars, éloigne-toi d'ici Hérode veut te faire mourir.
The same day there came certaine Pharises, and said vnto him, Depart, and goe hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32 Il leur répondit: Allez dire à ce renard que je chasse les démons. J'opère des guérisons aujourd'hui et demain, et le troisième jour j'achève ma vie.
Then said he vnto them, Goe ye and tell that foxe, Beholde, I cast out deuils, and will heale still to day, and to morowe, and the third day I shalbe perfected.
33 Mais il faut que je marche aujourd'hui, demain, et le jour suivant, parce qu'il ne convient pas qu'un prophète périsse hors de Jérusalem.
Neuerthelesse I must walke to day, and to morowe, and the day following: for it cannot be that a Prophet should perish out of Hierusalem.
34 Jérusalem, Jérusalem, toi qui tues les prophètes et qui lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de fois j'ai voulu rassembler tes enfants, comme une poule rassemble sa couvée sous ses ailes, et vous ne l'avez pas voulu!
O Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee, howe often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her brood vnder her wings, and ye would not!
35 Voici que votre demeure vous sera laissée dans l'abandon. Et je vous déclare que vous ne me verrez plus, jusqu'à ce que vous disiez: «Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!»
Beholde, your house is left vnto you desolate: and verely I tell you, ye shall not see me vntill the time come that ye shall say, Blessed is he that commeth in the Name of the Lord.
