Jean 13
1 Avant la fête de Pâque, sachant que l'heure était venue pour lui de passer de ce monde au Père, Jésus qui avait aimé les siens dans le monde, les aima jusqu'à la fin.
And before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that the hour has come when He must depart out of this world to His Father, having loved His own who were in the world, with divine love, He loved them perfectly.
2 Pendant le souper — le Diable ayant déjà mis au coeur de Judas Iscariote, fils de Simon, le dessein de le trahir, —
And the supper being on hand, the devil already having entered into the heart, that Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, should betray Him,
3 Jésus, qui savait que le Père lui avait remis toutes choses entre les mains, qu'il était venu de Dieu et qu'il s'en allait à Dieu,
knowing that the Father has given all things into His hands, and He came out from God, and is going away to God,
4 se leva de table, ôta son vêtement, et, ayant pris un linge, il s'en ceignit.
He rises from the supper, and lays aside His garments, and taking a towel, girded Himself;
5 Ensuite il remplit d'eau le bassin, et il se mit à laver les pieds de ses disciples et à les essuyer avec le linge dont il était ceint.
then He pours water into a bowl, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
6 Il vint donc à Simon Pierre, qui lui dit: Toi, Seigneur, tu me laverais les pieds!
Then He comes to Simon Peter; he says to Him; Lord, do you wash my feet?
7 Jésus lui répondit: Tu ne sais pas maintenant ce que je fais, mais tu le sauras plus tard.
Jesus responded and said to him, What I do you know not now; but shall understand hereafter.
8 Pierre lui dit: Tu ne me laveras jamais les pieds! Jésus lui répondit: Si je ne te lave, tu n'auras point de part avec moi. (aiōn g165)
Peter says to Him, You may never wash my feet. Jesus responded to him, If I wash thee not, thou hast not part with me. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Pierre lui dit: Seigneur! non seulement les pieds, mais aussi les mains et la tête.
And Simon Peter says to Him, Lord, not only my feet, but my hands and my head.
10 Jésus lui répondit: Celui qui s'est déjà baigné n'a plus qu'à se laver les pieds; il est entièrement purifié. Or, vous êtes purs, mais non pas tous!
Jesus says to Him, He that is bathed hath no need to wash his hands, but is altogether clean: and you are clean, but not all.
11 Car il savait quel était celui qui le trahirait; c'est pour cela qu'il dit: Vous n'êtes pas tous purs.
For He knew the one betraying Him. On this account He said, You are not all clean.
12 Après qu'il leur eut lavé les pieds, il reprit son vêtement; et, s'étant remis à table, il leur dit: Comprenez-vous ce que je vous ai fait?
Then when He washed their feet, and took His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you?
13 Vous m'appelez Maître et Seigneur et vous dites bien, car je le suis.
You call me Master and Lord, and you speak beautifully; for I am.
14 Si donc je vous ai lavé les pieds, moi, le Seigneur et le Maître, vous devez aussi vous laver les pieds les uns aux autres.
If then I, your Lord and Master, washed your feet, you ought also to wash the feet of one another.
15 Car je vous ai donné un exemple, afin que vous fassiez comme je vous ai fait.
For I have given unto you an example, that you may also do as I have done to you.
16 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, le serviteur n'est pas plus grand que son maître, ni l'envoyé plus grand que celui qui l'envoie.
Truly, truly, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; nor the apostle greater than him that sent him.
17 Si vous savez ces choses, vous êtes bienheureux, pourvu que vous les pratiquiez.
If you know these things, happy are ye if you may do them.
18 Je ne parle pas de vous tous; je connais ceux que j'ai choisis; mais il faut que cette parole de l'Écriture soit accomplie: «Celui qui mange mon pain, a levé le talon contre moi.»
I do not speak concerning you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.
19 Je vous le dis dès à présent, avant que la chose arrive, afin que, quand elle sera arrivée, vous croyiez ce que je suis.
Now I tell you before it takes place, in order that you may believe, when it may be done, that I am He.
20 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, quiconque reçoit celui que j'ai envoyé, me reçoit; et quiconque me reçoit, reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé.
Truly, truly, I say unto you, The one receiving the one whom I may send, receiveth me; and the one receiving me, receives Him that sent me.
21 Quand Jésus eut ainsi parlé, il fut troublé en son esprit, et il dit ouvertement: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le déclare, l'un de vous me trahira!
Jesus saying these things, was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said; Truly, truly, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Les disciples se regardaient les uns les autres, ne sachant de qui il parlait.
Then the disciples began to look to one another, being at a loss concerning which one He speaks.
23 Or, il y avait un des disciples qui était, couché sur le sein de Jésus; c'était celui que Jésus aimait.
And one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved, was leaning on the bosom of Jesus.
24 Simon Pierre lui fit signe, en lui disant: Dis-nous quel est celui dont il parle.
Then Simon Peter beckons to him, to ask who he might be concerning whom He speaks.
25 Lui donc, s'étant penché sur le sein de Jésus, lui demanda: Seigneur, qui est-ce?
And that one, falling toward the bosom of Jesus says to Him, Lord, who is he?
26 Jésus répondit: C'est celui à qui je donnerai le morceau que je vais tremper. Puis ayant trempé un morceau, il le prit et le donna à Judas Iscariote, fils de Simon.
And Jesus responds, He is that one to whom, having dipped the morsel, I will give it. And having dipped the morsel, He takes it, and gives it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 Aussitôt que Judas eut pris le morceau, Satan entra en lui. Jésus lui dit alors: Ce que tu fais, fais-le au plus tôt.
And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus says to him; What thou art doing, do more quickly.
28 Mais aucun de ceux qui étaient à table ne comprit pourquoi il lui parlait ainsi.
And no one of those sitting with Him knew what He said to him:
29 Quelques-uns pensaient que, comme Judas avait la bourse, Jésus lui disait: Achète ce dont nous avons besoin pour la fête; ou: Donne quelque chose aux pauvres.
for some thought, as Judas had the purse, that Jesus says to him, Purchase some of those things of which we have need at the supper; or something that he might give to the poor.
30 Judas, ayant pris le morceau, sortit aussitôt. Et il faisait nuit.
Then he having taken the morsel, went out immediately: and it was night.
31 Quand Judas fut sorti, Jésus dit: Maintenant le Fils de l'homme est glorifié, et Dieu est glorifié en lui.
Then when he went out, Jesus says, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 Dieu aussi le glorifiera en lui-même, et il le glorifiera bientôt.
And if God is glorified in Him, God will indeed glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.
33 Mes petits enfants, je suis encore avec vous pour un peu de temps; vous me chercherez, et comme je l'ai dit aux Juifs, je vous le dis aussi maintenant: Vous ne pouvez venir où je vais.
Children, I am still with you. You shall seek me, and as I said to the Jews, Whither I go, you are not able to come; and now I say to you.
34 Je vous donne un commandement nouveau, c'est que vous vous aimiez les uns les autres; comme je vous ai aimés, vous aussi, aimez-vous les uns les autres.
I give unto a new commandment, That you must love one another with divine love; as I have loved you with divine love, that you must also love one another with divine love:
35 C'est à ceci que tous connaîtront que vous êtes mes disciples, si vous avez de l'amour les uns pour les autres.
in this shall all know that you are my disciples, if you may have divine love one with another.
36 Simon Pierre lui dit: Seigneur, où vas-tu? Jésus lui répondit: Tu ne saurais maintenant me suivre où je vais; mais tu me suivras plus tard.
Simon Peter says to Him; Lord, whither do you go? Jesus responded, Whither I go you are not able to follow me now; but shall follow me hereafter.
37 Pierre lui dit: Seigneur, pourquoi ne puis-je pas te suivre à présent? Je donnerai ma vie pour toi!
Peter says to Him; Lord, why am I not able to follow thee now? I will lay down my soul for thee.
38 Jésus lui répondit: Tu donneras ta vie pour moi? En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, le coq ne chantera pas, que tu ne m'aies renié trois fois!
Jesus responds to him, Wilt thou lay down thy soul for me? Truly, truly, I say unto thee, that the cock shall not crow, until thou shalt thrice deny me.
