Hébreux 1
1 Après avoir autrefois parlé à nos pères, à plusieurs reprises et de plusieurs manières, par les prophètes,
On many occasions and in many ways in the olden time, God having spoken to the fathers through the prophets, at the last of these days has spoken to us through his Son,
2 Dieu nous a parlé dans ces derniers temps par le Fils, celui qu'il a établi héritier de toutes choses et par lequel il a fait le monde, (aiōn g165)
whom he put forth the heir of all things, and through whom he created the ages; (aiōn g165)
3 celui qui, étant le rayonnement de sa gloire, l'empreinte même de sa personne, soutient toutes choses par sa parole puissante, et qui, après avoir accompli la purification des péchés, s'est assis à la droite de la majesté divine dans les lieux très hauts:
who being the brightness of his glory, and the character of his person, and holding up all things by the word of his power, having made purgation of the sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 aussi est-il devenu d'autant supérieur aux anges, qu'il a hérité d'un nom plus éminent que le leur.
being so much greater than the angels, that he has inherited a name so much more excellent than they.
5 Auquel des anges, en effet, Dieu a-t-il jamais dit: «Tu es mon Fils, je t'ai engendré aujourd'hui»? Et encore: «Je serai son Père, et il sera mon Fils»?
For to which one of the angels at any time did he say, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be unto him a Father, and he shall be unto me a Son?
6 Et, quand il introduit dans le monde son Fils premier-né, il dit encore: «Que tous les anges de Dieu l'adorent!»
And again when he may lead in the first begotten into the world, he says, Indeed let all the angels of God worship him.
7 A l'égard des anges, il dit: «Il fait de ses anges des vents, et de ses serviteurs une flamme de feu.»
And to the angels he says, he maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire: but to the Son he says,
8 Mais il a dit à l'égard du Fils: «Dieu, ton trône demeure aux siècles des siècles, et le sceptre de ta royauté est un sceptre d'équité. (aiōn g165)
Thy throne, O God, is unto the age of the age; and the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. (aiōn g165)
9 Tu as aimé la justice, et haï l'iniquité; c'est pourquoi, ô Dieu, ton Dieu t'a oint d'une huile de joie, de préférence à tes pareils»
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy comrades.
10 Et ailleurs: «C'est toi, Seigneur, qui, au commencement, as fondé la terre; et les cieux sont l'oeuvre de tes mains.
And thou, at the beginning, O Lord, didst lay the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
11 Ils périront, mais toi, tu subsistes! Ils vieilliront tous comme un vêtement.
These shall perish; but thou dost remain: truly all these shall wax old like a garment;
12 Tu les rouleras comme un manteau, et ils seront transformés; mais toi, tu restes le même, et tes années ne finiront point.»
and thou shalt roll them up like a mantle, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail thee.
13 Auquel des anges Dieu a-t-il jamais dit: «Assieds-toi à ma droite, jusqu'à ce que j'aie mis tes ennemis sous tes pieds, pour te servir de marchepied»?
And to which one of the angels has he at any time said, Sit thou on my right hand, until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?
14 Les anges ne sont-ils pas tous des esprits au service de Dieu, envoyés par lui pour exercer un ministère en faveur de ceux qui doivent recevoir en héritage le salut?
Are not all these ministering spirits, having been sent forth unto ministration for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?
