Hébreux 1
1 C'est à plusieurs reprises et de plusieurs manières que Dieu a autrefois parlé à nos pères par les prophètes; et, de nos jours, qui sont les derniers,
God, who formerly spoke in many portions and in many ways to the fathers by the prophets,
2 il nous a parlé, à nous, par un Fils, qu'il a fait héritier de toutes choses et par lequel il a aussi créé le monde. (aiōn g165)
spoke to us in these last days by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the ages. (aiōn g165)
3 Étant un reflet de sa gloire et une empreinte de son essence, soutenant toutes choses par sa puissante parole, ce Fils a accompli l'oeuvre de la purification des péchés et «...s'est assis à la droite...» de la majesté divine dans les régions célestes,
Who, being the radiance of his glory, and the exact image of his essence, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having made purification of our sins through himself, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in the heights.
4 devenu d'autant supérieur aux anges que le nom dont il a hérité est plus éminent que le leur.
Having become so much better than the agents, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they.
5 Auquel des anges, en effet, Dieu a-t-il jamais dit: «Tu es mon Fils; Je t'ai engendré aujourd'hui», et ailleurs: «Je serai son Père, et il sera mon Fils.»
For to which of the agents did he ever say, Thou are my Son, today I have begotten thee? And again, I will be to him for a Father, and he will be to me for a Son?
6 Et lorsque, dans un autre passage, il introduit le premier-né dans le monde, il dit: «Que tous les anges de Dieu l'adorent.»
And again when he brings the firstborn into the world he says, And let all the agents of God worship him.
7 Quant aux anges, il en dit ceci «...Celui qui fait de ses anges des esprits Et de ses serviteurs une flamme de feu...»
And indeed toward the agents he says, He who makes his agents spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 Il dit, au contraire, du Fils: «Ton trône, Dieu, est éternel. Le sceptre de ta royauté est un sceptre de droiture. (aiōn g165)
But toward the Son, Thy throne, O God, is into the age of the age. The scepter of thy kingdom is a scepter of straightness. (aiōn g165)
9 Tu as aimé la justice et tu as haï l'iniquité. Voilà pourquoi, Dieu, ton Dieu t'a oint D'une huile de réjouissance, de préférence à tes égaux.»
Thou have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. Because of this, God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy companions.
10 Et ensuite: «C'est toi, Seigneur, qui, au commencement, as fondé la terre Et les cieux sont l'oeuvre de tes mains.
And thou, Lord, at the beginnings founded the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
11 Ils périront, toi tu restes. Ils vieilliront tous comme un manteau,
They will perish, but thou are permanent. And they will all become old as a garment.
12 Tu les plieras comme une couverture, comme un manteau, et ils se transformeront, Mais toi tu restes le même Et tes années ne finiront pas.»
And thou will roll them up as a mantle, and they will be changed. But thou are the same, and thy years will not cease.
13 Auquel des anges Dieu a-t-il jamais dit: «Assieds-toi à ma droite Jusqu'à ce que j'aie mis tes ennemis sous tes pieds comme un marchepied?»
But to which of the agents has he ever said, Sit thou by my right hand until I place thine enemies a footstool of thy feet?
14 Les anges ne sont-ils pas tous des esprits subalternes, employés au service de Dieu, pour ceux qui doivent hériter du salut?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth for service for the sake of those who are going to inherit salvation?
