Actes 3
1 Pierre et Jean montaient un jour au Temple pour la prière de la neuvième heure;
Now Peter and John were going up to the temple together at the hour of prayer, which is the ninth hour.
2 or, il y avait un homme estropié de naissance que, tous les jours, on apportait et on déposait à la porte du Temple dite «La Belle», pour demander l'aumône à ceux qui entraient.
And a certain man who had been lame from his birth was carried along; whom they laid every day at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those that were going into the temple:
3 Voyant Pierre et Jean qui allaient pénétrer dans le Temple, il s'adressa à eux pour recevoir une aumône.
who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked alms of them.
4 Pierre arrêta sur lui son regard, ainsi que Jean: «Regarde-nous, lui dit-il.»
But Peter, and John, looking earnestly at him said, Look on us.
5 Lui les fixait attentivement, s'attendant à recevoir quelque chose.
And he fixed his eyes upon them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Mais Pierre continua: «Je n'ai ni argent ni or, mais ce que j'ai, je te le donne; au nom de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth, marche!»
But Peter said, Silver and gold I have not; but what I have I give thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
7 En même temps il lui prenait la main droite et le levait; immédiatement ses pieds et ses chevilles devinrent fermes;
And taking him by the right hand, he raised him up: and immediately his feet and ancles were strengthened:
8 d'un saut il se mit debout; il marchait! et il entra avec eux dans le Temple, marchant, sautant et louant Dieu.
and leaping up he stood firm, and walked; and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 Tout le peuple le vit marcher et louer Dieu,
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 chacun le reconnaissait; c'était bien lui, l'homme qui demandait l'aumône assis à «La Belle Porte» du Temple; complète était la stupéfaction comme l'enthousiasme de ce qui lui était arrivé.
and knew that it was he who sat to ask for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with astonishment and extasy at what had befallen him.
11 Cet homme ne quittant pas Pierre et Jean, c'est vers eux, au portique dit de Salomon, qu'accourut tout le peuple, confondu de surprise.
And as the lame man that was healed had hold of Peter and John, all the people being astonished ran together to them to the porch called Solomon's porch.
12 Voyant cela, Pierre s'adressa ainsi à la foule: «Hommes d'Israël, Pourquoi vous étonnez-vous de ce qui vient de se passer? Pourquoi nous regardez-vous avec cette insistance, comme si c'était nous, par nos propres forces ou par notre piété, qui avions fait, marcher cet homme?
And Peter seeing this said to the people, Men of Israel, why marvel ye at this, or why look ye so earnestly on us, as if by our own power or piety we had made this man able to walk?
13 Le Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères a glorifié son serviteur Jésus que vous, vous avez livré et que vous avez renié devant Pilate, et cela, quand lui, il voulait le relâcher!
The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied before Pilate, when he determined to release Him.
14 Oui, vous avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et vous avez demandé la grâce d'un meurtrier,
But ye refused the holy and righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you:
15 vous avez tué l'auteur de la vie, que Dieu a ressuscité d'entre les morts, et nous, nous sommes ses témoins.
and put to death the prince of life; whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
16 C'est par la foi en son nom que ce nom a guéri l'homme que vous voyez et connaissez; la foi qui agit par lui a donné à cet homme, et en votre présence à tous, une guérison complète.»
And through faith in his name, hath strengthened this man, whom ye see and know: his name, I say, and saith in Him, hath wrought this perfect cure before you all.
17 «Je sais d'ailleurs, frères, que vous avez fait tout cela dans votre ignorance et vos magistrats aussi.
And now, brethren, I know that ye did it through ignorance, as did also your rulers:
18 Dieu a accompli de cette manière ce qu'il avait prédit d'avance par la bouche de tous les prophètes, savoir que son Christ devait souffrir.
but thus hath God accomplished those things which He had foretold by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer.
19 Repentez-vous donc et convertissez-vous pour que vos péchés soient effacés et alors pourront venir de la part du Seigneur des temps de rafraîchissement,
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out: that seasons of refreshing may come upon you from the presence of the Lord;
20 et il vous enverra celui qu'il vous a destiné, Jésus-Christ,
and He may send Jesus Christ, who was before preached unto you:
21 que le ciel doit recevoir jusqu'à l'époque du rétablissement universel dont Dieu a parlé autrefois par la bouche de ses saints prophètes.» (aiōn g165)
whom heaven must indeed receive till the times of settling all things, of which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets from the beginning. (aiōn g165)
22 «D'une part, Moïse a dit: «Le Seigneur notre Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète semblable à moi, vous l'écouterez dans tout ce qu'il vous dira,
For Moses said unto the fathers, the Lord your God will raise up a prophet unto you, of your brethren, like me, Him shall ye hear in all things whatever He shall say unto you;
23 et quiconque n'écoutera pas ce prophète, sera exterminé du milieu du peuple.»
and every soul, who will not hearken to that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people: yea and all the prophets from Samuel,
24 D'autre part, tous les prophètes, depuis Samuel et ses successeurs, ont parlé et ont annoncé ces jours-là.
and those that followed, as many as have prophesied, have also foretold these days.
25 Vous êtes les fils des prophètes et les héritiers de l'alliance que Dieu, a conclue avec nos pères, disant à Abraham: «Toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité.»
Now ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant, which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed:"
26 Pour vous, les premiers, Dieu a suscité son serviteur et l'a envoyé vous bénir en détournant chacun de vous de ses iniquités.»
and to you first God having raised up his son Jesus, sent Him to bless you; in your turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
