1 L'ancien à l'élue Cyria et à ses enfants (que j'aime véritablement) — et ce n'est pas moi seul qui les aime, mais aussi tous ceux qui ont connu la vérité —
The elder to the elect Cyria, and to her children, whom in truth I love with divine love; and not I, but also those having known the truth;
2 (je les aime à cause de la vérité qui demeure en nous et qui sera éternellement avec nous). (aiōn g165)
on account of the truth which abides in us, and shall be with us forever. (aiōn g165)
3 Grâce, miséricorde et paix, venant de Dieu le Père et de Jésus-Christ, le Fils du Père, soient avec nous dans la vérité et dans l'amour.
Grace, mercy, peace, shall be with us from God our Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and in divine love.
4 J'ai été bien heureux de trouver quelques-uns de tes enfants marchant dans la vérité, comme nous en avons reçu le commandement du Père.
I rejoice exceedingly because I have found some of thy children walking about in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.
5 Et maintenant, je te demande, Cyria (non comme si je t'écrivais un nouveau commandement, mais celui-là même que nous avons reçu dès le commencement), de nous aimer les uns les autres. Voici en quoi consiste cet amour: marchons selon ses commandements.
And now I entreat thee, O Cyria, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another with divine love.
6 Et voici en quoi consiste ce commandement: marcher (comme vous l'avez appris dès le commencement), marcher dans l'amour.
And this is the divine love, that we may walk about according to his commandments; this is the commandment, That, as you heard from the beginning, that you may walk about in it.
7 Il s'est répandu dans le monde un grand nombre de séducteurs qui ne reconnaissent pas que Jésus-Christ est venu en chair: oui, voilà le séducteur! voilà l'Antechrist!
Because many deceivers have gone out into the world, who do not confess that Jesus Christ is coming in the flesh; the same is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Faites attention à vous pour ne pas perdre le fruit de vos efforts, mais pour recevoir une pleine récompense.
Take heed to yourselves, that you may not destroy those things which you have wrought, but may receive a full reward.
9 Celui qui va plus loin, qui ne reste pas attaché à la doctrine du Christ, n'a point Dieu; celui qui reste attaché à cette doctrine, a le Père et a le Fils.
Every one going forth, and not abiding in the teaching of Christ, has not God; the one abiding in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.
10 Si quelqu'un vient à vous et n'apporte pas cette doctrine, ne le recevez pas dans votre maison et ne lui donnez pas le salut de paix.
If any one comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine; do not receive him into your house, and do not bid him God speed:
11 Car celui qui le lui donne prend part à ses mauvaises oeuvres.
for the one bidding him God speed partakes of his evil deeds.
12 Je n'ai pas voulu, ayant bien des choses à vous dire, vous les faire savoir avec l'encre et le papier; mais comme j'espère aller vous voir, je vous entretiendrai de vive voix, pour que notre joie soit complète.
Having many things to write to you, I would not write them with paper and ink: but I hope to come to you, and mouth to mouth to speak to you, in order that our joy may be full.
13 Les enfants de ta soeur l'élue te saluent.
The children of thy elect sister salute thee.
