Zacharie 7
1 Et la quatrième année du roi Darius, la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Zacharie, le quatrième jour du neuvième mois, celui de Cisleu.
And it came to pass, in the fourth year of King Darius, that the word of Jehovah came to Zechariah, on the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
2 Et la maison de Dieu envoya Scharetser et Régem-Mélech et leurs gens pour implorer l'Éternel,
when they had sent to the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before Jehovah,
3 et dire aux sacrificateurs de la maison de l'Éternel des armées et aux prophètes: « Continuerai-je à prendre le deuil au cinquième mois, avec abstinence, ainsi que je le fais depuis combien d'années? »
and to speak to the priests that were in the house of Jehovah of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, “Shall I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?”
4 Et la parole de l'Éternel des armées me fut adressée en ces mots:
Then came the word of Jehovah of hosts to me, saying,
5 Dis à tout le peuple du pays et aux sacrificateurs: Quand vous avez jeûné et pris le deuil au cinquième et au septième mois, et cela pendant ces soixante-dix ans, est-ce pour moi que vous avez jeûné?
Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth month and in the seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast for me, even for me?
6 Et quand vous mangez et buvez, n'est-ce pas vous qui mangez, et vous qui buvez?
And when ye eat and drink, is it not ye that eat, and ye that drink?
7 N'avez-vous pas les paroles que proclama l'Éternel par les premiers prophètes, quand Jérusalem était habitée et tranquille avec les villes de ses alentours, et que le midi et le bas pays étaient habités?
Are not these the words which Jehovah proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and her cities round about her, and when the South and the Plain were inhabited?
8 Et la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Zacharie en ces mots: Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées:
And the word of Jehovah came to Zechariah, saying,
9 Rendez la justice en vérité, et traitez-vous l'un l'autre avec bonté et miséricorde;
Thus spake Jehovah of hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother.
10 et n'opprimez ni la veuve, ni l'orphelin, ni l'étranger, ni le pauvre, et ne pensez pas à mal l'un contre l'autre dans vos cœurs.
And the widow, and the orphan, and the stranger, and the poor, oppress not, and meditate not evil against one another in your heart.
11 Mais ils refusèrent d'être attentifs, et opposèrent une épaule rénitente, et se bouchèrent les oreilles pour ne point entendre;
But they refused to hearken, and showed a refractory shoulder, and made their ears dull, that they might not hear;
12 et ils endurcirent leurs cœurs comme le diamant, pour ne pas entendre la loi et les paroles qu'envoyait l'Éternel des armées par son Esprit, par les premiers prophètes; et ainsi survint une grande colère de l'Éternel des armées.
yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, that they might not hear the law, and the words which Jehovah of hosts sent through his spirit by the former prophets. Therefore came great anger from Jehovah of hosts.
13 Et il arriva que, comme Il appela et qu'ils n'écoutèrent pas, de même ils appelèrent, et je n'écoutai pas, dit l'Éternel des armées;
And as he called and they would not hear, so they called and I would not hear, saith Jehovah of hosts.
14 et je les disséminai parmi tous les peuples qu'ils ne connaissaient pas; et le pays demeura désert derrière eux; il n'y avait ni allant ni venant, et ils firent ainsi d'un pays de délices une solitude.
And I scattered them as with a whirlwind among all the nations, which they knew not. And the land was desolate after them, so that no man passed through, nor returned; and thus the beautiful land was made a desolation.
