Psaumes 99

1 L'Éternel règne, les peuples tremblent; Il est assis sur les Chérubins, la terre est ébranlée.

A psalm for David himself. The Lord hath reigned, let the people be angry: he that sitteth on the cherubims: let the earth be moved.

2 L'Éternel est grand en Sion, et élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples:

The Lord is great in Sion, and high above all people.

3 qu'ils chantent Ton nom grand et redoutable, Il est saint!

Let them give praise to thy great name: for it is terrible and holy:

4 et la force du Roi qui aime la justice! Tu as fondé l'équité, et créé en Jacob la justice et le droit.

And the king’s honour loveth judgment. Thou hast prepared directions: thou hast done judgment and justice in Jacob.

5 Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu, et vous prosternez sur le marchepied de son trône! Il est saint!

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore his footstool, for it is holy.

6 Moïse et Aaron, ses Lévites, et Samuel qui invoquait son nom, implorèrent l'Éternel, et Il les exauça.

Moses and Aaron among his priests: and Samuel among them that call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heard them:

7 Il leur parla dans la colonne de nuée; ils gardèrent ses commandements, et l'ordonnance qu'il leur avait donnée.

He spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies, and the commandment which he gave them.

8 Éternel, notre Dieu, tu les as exaucés; tu fus pour eux un Dieu qui pardonne, et un Dieu vengeur, à cause de leurs méfaits.

Thou didst hear them, O Lord our God: thou wast a merciful God to them, and taking vengeance on all their inventions.

9 Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous sur sa sainte montagne! Car Il est saint, l'Éternel, notre Dieu.

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore at his holy mountain: for the Lord our God is holy.
