1 Chantez à l'Éternel un cantique nouveau, chantez à l'Éternel, vous toutes les contrées!
Sing to Yahweh, a song that is new, Sing to Yahweh, all the earth;
2 Chantez à l'Éternel, bénissez son nom, annoncez son salut de jour en jour!
Sing to Yahweh, bless ye his Name, —Tell the tidings, from day to day, of his salvation:
3 Racontez sa gloire parmi les nations, et ses merveilles parmi tous les peuples!
Recount, Among the nations, his glory, Among all the peoples, his wonders.
4 Car Dieu est grand et digne d'une grande louange; Il est plus redoutable que tous les dieux;
For great is Yahweh, and worthy to be mightily praised, To be revered is he above all gods;
5 car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles, et l'Éternel a fait les Cieux.
For, all the gods of the peoples, are things of nought—But, Yahweh, made, the heavens.
6 Devant sa face c'est splendeur et majesté, gloire et magnificence, dans son Sanctuaire.
Praise and majesty, are before him, Strength and beauty, are in his sanctuary.
7 Tribus des peuples, rendez à l'Éternel, rendez à l'Éternel l'honneur et la louange!
Give to Yahweh, ye families of the peoples, Give to Yahweh, glory and strength;
8 Rendez à l'Éternel l'honneur dû à son nom! d Apportez des offrandes, et entrez dans ses parvis!
Give to Yahweh, the glory of his Name, Bring a present, and enter his courts;
9 Adorez l'Éternel avec une pompe sainte! Tremblez devant lui, vous toutes les contrées!
Bow down to Yahweh, in the adornment of holiness, Be in anguish at his presence, all the earth!
10 Dites parmi les peuples: « L'Éternel règne; aussi le monde est ferme et ne chancelle point. Il juge les nations avec justice. »
Say among the nations, Yahweh, hath become King, Surely he hath fixed the world, it shall not be shaken, He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 Que les Cieux se réjouissent, et que la terre tressaille; que la mer s'émeuve avec tout ce qu'elle enserre;
Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult, Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;
12 que les campagnes s'égaient avec tout ce qui les couvre; qu'ainsi les arbres des forêts frémissent tous d'allégresse
Let the field, leap for joy, and all that is therein, Then, shall all the trees of the forest, shout in triumph,
13 au devant de l'Éternel! Car Il vient, car il vient pour juger la terre. Il jugera le monde avec justice, et les peuples, selon sa vérité.
Before Yahweh, for he is coming, For he is coming to judge the earth, —He will judge the world, in righteousness, And the peoples, in his faithfulness.
