Psaumes 84
1 Au maître chantre. En githith. Cantique des fils de Coré. Que tes demeures sont aimables, Éternel des armées!
For the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely are Thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
2 Mon cœur se pâme, il languit après les parvis de l'Éternel; mon âme et ma chair crient au Dieu vivant.
My soul yearneth, yea, even pineth for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy unto the living God.
3 Le passereau même se trouve une demeure, et l'hirondelle un nid, où ils déposent leur couvée, près de tes autels, Éternel des armées, mon Roi et mon Dieu!
Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young; Thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God —.
4 Heureux les habitants de ta maison! Ils te louent encore. (Pause)
Happy are they that dwell in Thy house, they are ever praising Thee. (Selah)
5 Heureux l'homme dont tu es le soutien, et que son cœur porte à s'acheminer vers toi!
Happy is the man whose strength is in Thee; in whose heart are the highways.
6 Traversant la vallée des pleurs, il la trouve pour lui arrosée de fontaines, et la pluie d'automne la couvre d'abondance.
Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; yea, the early rain clotheth it with blessings.
7 Il chemine, et ses forces augmentent: il se présente enfin devant Dieu en Sion.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.
8 Éternel, Dieu des armées, écoute ma prière! Prête l'oreille, Dieu de Jacob! (Pause)
O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 O notre bouclier, regarde, ô Dieu, abaisse un regard sur la face de ton Oint!
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of Thine anointed.
10 Car mieux vaut un jour dans tes parvis, que mille autres; j'aime mieux me tenir au seuil de la maison de mon Dieu, que d'habiter les tentes de l'impiété.
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Car l'Éternel Dieu est un soleil et un bouclier, l'Éternel donne grâce et magnificence, ne refuse aucun bien à qui suit la droiture.
For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 Éternel des armées, heureux l'homme qui se confie en toi!
O LORD of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in Thee.
