Psaumes 82

1 Cantique d'Asaph. Dieu prend séance dans l'assemblée divine, et au milieu des Dieux Il rend la justice.

A Psalm by Asaph. God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.

2 « Jusques à quand serez-vous des juges pervers, et tiendrez-vous le parti des impies? (Pause)

“How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?” (Selah)

3 Faites droit aux petits et aux orphelins, rendez justice à l'affligé et au pauvre.

“Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

4 Libérez les petits et les indigents, arrachez-les de la main des impies.

Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”

5 Ils n'ont ni sagesse, ni intelligence, ils marchent dans les ténèbres; toutes les bases de la terre sont ébranlées.

They don’t know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 J'ai dit: Vous êtes des Dieux, et tous, des fils du Très-haut.

I said, “You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High.

7 Cependant vous mourrez, comme des humains, et vous tomberez, aussi bien que tel d'entre les princes. »

Nevertheless you shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.”

8 Lève-toi, ô Dieu, juge la terre, car tous les peuples sont ta propriété!

Arise, God, judge the earth, for you inherit all of the nations.
