Psaumes 72
1 De Salomon. O Dieu, donne au Roi tes jugements, et ta justice au Fils du Roi!
Solomon’s. O God! thy justice, give, unto the king, And thy righteousness, unto the son of a king;
2 Il jugera ton peuple avec justice, et tes affligés avec équité.
May he judge, Thy people with righteousness; And thine oppressed ones with justice;
3 Les monts et les coteaux, par l'effet de la justice, porteront la paix pour le peuple.
May the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills [be laden] with righteousness;
4 Il fera justice aux malheureux du peuple, il sera secourable aux enfants du pauvre, et il écrasera les oppresseurs.
May he, Vindicate the oppressed of the people, Bring deliverance to the children of the needy, and, Crush the oppressor.
5 Tu seras craint, tant que le soleil luira, tant que la lune éclairera, d'âge en âge.
Let men revere thee, With the sun, And in presence of the moon, Unto the remotest generation.
6 Il descendra, comme une pluie sur un champ dépouillé, comme une rosée qui humecte la terre.
Let him come down, Like rain on fields to be mown, Like myriad drops on land to be reaped.
7 En ses jours le juste fleurira, et le salut abondera, jusqu'à ce que la lune cesse d'être.
May righteousness, in his days, blossom forth, And abundance of peace, till there be no moon.
8 Et il régnera d'une mer à l'autre mer, et du Fleuve aux extrémités de la terre.
So let him have dominion, From sea to sea, And from the River ["Euphrates"] unto the ends of the earth;
9 Devant lui s'inclineront les habitants du désert, et ses ennemis baiseront la poussière;
Before him, let the men of the desert kneel, But, as for his foes, the dust, let them lick;
10 les rois de Tarsis et des Iles paieront un tribut; les rois de Séba et de Méroë apporteront des présents.
The kings of Tarshish and of the Coastlands, A gift, let them render, The kings of Sheba and Seba, A present, let them bring;
11 Tous les rois se prosterneront devant lui, et tous les peuples le serviront.
Yea let all kings, bow down unto him, Let, all nations, serve him;
12 Car il sauvera le pauvre qui crie au secours, et le malheureux qui est sans aide;
Because he Rescueth, The needy from the rich, The oppressed, who hath no helper;
13 il aura pitié du misérable et de l'indigent, et il sauvera la vie au pauvre;
He Pitieth the weak and the needy, And, the lives of the needy, he Saveth:
14 il les délivrera de la violence et de l'oppression, et leur sang aura un grand prix à ses yeux.
From extortion, and, violence, he Redeemeth their life, And precious is their blood in his sight.
15 Et ils auront la vie, et il leur donnera de l'or de Séba, et pour lui ils prieront incessamment; toujours ils le béniront.
Let him live, then! And be there given unto him of the gold of Sheba, —Let prayer also be offered for him continually, All the day, let him be blessed.
16 Les blés abonderont dans le pays, au sommet des montagnes et leurs épis bruiront, comme le Liban. Des villes on verra fleurir les hommes, comme l'herbe de la terre.
May there be an abundance of corn in the earth, in the top of the mountains, —Let the fruit thereof, wave like Lebanon, And they of the city bloom like the fresh shoots of the earth.
17 Son nom sera éternel; tant que le soleil luira, son nom se propagera, on le nommera pour se bénir mutuellement; tous les peuples le proclameront heureux.
May his Name be age-abiding, In the presence of the sun, let his Name flourish, —And may all the families of the ground bless themselves in him, All nations, pronounce him happy!
18 Béni soit l'Éternel Dieu, Dieu d'Israël, qui seul fait des choses merveilleuses!
Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel, —Who doeth wondrous things by himself alone;
19 et béni soit a jamais son nom glorieux, et que toute la terre soit pleine de sa magnificence! ainsi soit-il! oui, ainsi soit-il!
And blessed be his glorious Name, unto times age-abiding, —And filled with his glory be all the earth, Amen and Amen!
