Psaumes 70

1 Au maître chantre. De David. En souvenir. O Dieu, pour me délivrer, Éternel, accours à mon aide!

“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David, for remembrance.” Make haste, O God! to deliver me, O LORD! come speedily to mine aid!

2 Qu'ils soient couverts de honte et d'opprobre ceux qui attentent à ma vie! Qu'ils reculent confondus ceux qui veulent mon malheur!

May they all be confounded, and covered with shame, Who seek to take my life! May they be driven back with disgrace Who desire to do me injury!

3 Qu'ils fassent retraite par l'effet de leur honte ceux qui disent: « Le voilà! le voilà! »

May they be turned back with shame Who cry out to me, “Aha! aha!”

4 Alors tu feras la joie et l'allégresse de tous ceux qui te cherchent; et ils diront toujours: « Dieu est grand! » ceux qui désirent ton secours.

But let all who seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee! Let them that love thy protection ever say, “May God be praised!”

5 Et moi, je suis misérable et dénué: ô Dieu! accours vers moi! Tu es mon aide et mon libérateur! Éternel, ne tarde pas!

But I am poor and needy; O God! hasten to mine aid! Thou art my help and my deliverer, O LORD! make no delay!
