1 Cantique de David. Fils de Dieu, rendez à l'Éternel, rendez à l'Éternel l'honneur et la gloire!
“A psalm of David.” Give to Jehovah, O ye sons of God! Give to Jehovah glory and praise!
2 Rendez à l'Éternel l'honneur dû à son nom! Adorez l'Éternel avec une pompe sainte!
Give to Jehovah the glory due to his name; Worship Jehovah in holy attire!
3 La voix de l'Éternel retentit sur les eaux, le Dieu glorieux fait gronder le tonnerre; on entend l'Éternel sur les grandes eaux.
The voice of Jehovah is heard above the waters; The God of glory thundereth, -Jehovah above the great waters.
4 La voix de l'Éternel est puissante, la voix de l'Éternel est majestueuse;
The voice of Jehovah is powerful; The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty;
5 la voix de l'Éternel brise les cèdres, l'Éternel brise les cèdres du Liban,
The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars; Yea, Jehovah breaketh the cedars of Lebanon;
6 et Il les fait bondir, comme les jeunes taureaux, et le Liban et le Sirion, comme les buffles.
Yea, he maketh them to leap like a calf, —Lebanon and Sirion like a young buffalo.
7 La voix de l'Éternel darde des flammes de feu;
The voice of Jehovah divideth the flames of fire.
8 la voix de l'Éternel ébranle le désert, l'Éternel ébranle le désert de Kadès.
The voice of Jehovah maketh the wilderness tremble; Yea, Jehovah maketh the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.
9 La voix de l'Éternel fait avorter les biches, elle dépouille les forêts; et dans Son palais tout s'écrie: Gloire!
The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds bring forth, And layeth bare the forests; While, in his palace, every one declareth his glory.
10 L'Éternel sur son trône présidait au déluge, et sur son trône l'Éternel régnera à jamais.
Jehovah sitteth above the flood; Yea, Jehovah sitteth king for ever.
11 L'Éternel donnera la force à son peuple; l'Éternel bénira son peuple de la paix.
Jehovah will give strength to his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.
