Psaumes 26

1 De David. Fais-moi justice, Éternel! car je vis innocent, et ma confiance au Seigneur n'est jamais vacillante.

JUDGE me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.

2 Sonde-moi, Éternel, et me mets à l'épreuve, passe par le creuset mes reins et mon cœur!

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

3 Car ta grâce est présente à mes yeux, et je suis le chemin de ta vérité;

For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

4 je ne m'assieds point près des amis du mensonge, et je ne hante point les hommes cachés.

I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.

5 Je hais la société des méchants, et je ne prends point place à côté des impies.

I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.

6 Je lave mes mains dans l'innocence, et je fais, Seigneur, le tour de ton autel,

I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:

7 pour éclater en actions de grâces, et raconter tous tes miracles.

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

8 Éternel, j'aime le séjour de ta maison, et le lieu où réside ta gloire.

Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

9 N'emporte pas mon âme avec les pécheurs, ni ma vie avec les hommes de sang,

Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:

10 qui portent le crime dans leurs mains, et ont leur droite remplie de présents!

In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.

11 Pour moi, je persévère dans mon intégrité: sauve-moi et prends pitié de moi!

But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

12 Mon pied se tient au droit sentier: dans les assemblées je louerai l'Éternel.

My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Lord.
