Psaumes 24

1 Cantique de David.

“A psalm of David.” The earth is the LORD'S, and all that is therein; The world, and they who inhabit it.

2 A l'Éternel est la terre avec ce qu'elle enserre, le monde avec ceux qui l'habitent. Car sur des mers Il l'a fondée, et sur des fleuves Il l'a établie.

For he hath founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the floods.

3 Qui pourra monter à la montagne de l'Éternel, et séjourner dans son lieu saint?

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 Celui qui a les mains innocentes et le cœur pur, qui ne porte pas ses désirs vers le mal, et ne jure pas pour tromper.

He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; Who hath not inclined his soul to falsehood, Nor sworn deceitfully.

5 Il obtiendra bénédiction de l'Éternel, et justice de son Dieu sauveur:

He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, And favor from the God of his salvation.

6 c'est la race de ceux qui viennent le trouver, et recherchent sa présence, la race de Jacob. (Pause)

This is the race of them that seek him; They that seek thy face are Jacob. (Pause)

7 Portes, élevez vos têtes, exhaussez-vous, Portes éternelles, pour l'entrée du Roi de gloire!

Lift up your heads, O ye gates! Lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, That the king of glory may come in!

8 « Qui est le Roi de gloire? » C'est l'Éternel, le fort et le puissant, l'Éternel, puissant dans le combat.

“Who is this king of glory?” Jehovah, strong and mighty; Jehovah, mighty in battle.

9 Portes, élevez vos têtes, élevez-les, Portes éternelles, pour l'entrée du Roi de gloire!

Lift up your heads, O ye gates! Lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, That the king of glory may enter in!

10 « Qui est-il le Roi de gloire? » C'est l'Éternel des armées, C'est lui qui est le Roi de gloire. (Pause)

“Who is this king of glory?” Jehovah, God of hosts, he is the king of glory. (Pause)
