Psaumes 135
1 Alléluia! Louez le nom de l'Éternel, louez-le, serviteurs de l'Éternel,
Praise ye Yah, Praise ye the Name of Yahweh, Praise, O ye servants of Yahweh;
2 qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Éternel, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!
Who stand In the house of Yahweh, In the courts of the house of our God.
3 Louez Dieu! car l'Éternel est bon; célébrez son nom! car Il est clément.
Praise ye Yah, For good is Yahweh, Sing praises to his Name, For it is full of delight;
4 Car l'Éternel s'est choisi Jacob, Israël, pour son héritage.
For, Jacob, hath Yah chosen for himself, Israel, for his own treasure.
5 Car je sais que l'Éternel est grand, et notre Seigneur, plus grand que tous les dieux.
For, I, know that great is Yahweh, yea, our Lord, is beyond all gods.
6 Tout ce qu'il veut, l'Éternel le fait, dans les Cieux et sur la terre, dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
Whatsoever Yahweh hath pleased, he hath done, —in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas, and all resounding deeps:
7 C'est lui qui fait lever les nuages des bouts de la terre, succéder la pluie à la foudre, et sortir les vents de ses arsenaux;
Causing vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, —Lightnings for the rain, hath he made, bringing forth wind out of his treasuries.
8 qui frappa les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, depuis les hommes jusqu'aux animaux;
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man, and of beast;
9 produisit dans ton sein, ô Egypte, des signes et des miracles contre Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs;
Sent signs and wonders into thy midst, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 Qui défit des peuples nombreux, et ôta la vie à des rois puissants,
Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings:
11 à Sihon, roi de l'Amoréen, et à Og, roi de Basan, et à tous les rois de Canaan,
Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 et donna leur pays en héritage, en héritage à Israël, son peuple.
And gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to Israel his people.
13 Seigneur, ton nom est éternel, et ta mémoire se transmet d'âge en âge.
O Yahweh! thy Name, is age-abiding, —O Yahweh! thy memorial, is to generation after generation.
14 Car l'Etemel est le défenseur de son peuple, et Il prend pitié de ses serviteurs.
For Yahweh will vindicate his people, —and, on his servants, have compassion.
15 Les idoles des nations sont de l'argent et de l'or, c'est l'ouvrage de mains d'homme.
The idols of the nations, are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men:
16 Elles ont une bouche, et ne parlent point; des yeux, et ne voient point;
A mouth, have they, but they speak not, Eyes, have they, but they see not;
17 des oreilles, et n'entendent point; et même leur bouche ne respire point;
Ears, have they, but they hear not, Nose, —there is no breath in their mouth.
18 semblables à elles sont ceux qui les fabriquent, tous ceux qui mettent en elles leur confiance.
Like unto them, shall be they who make them, every one who trusteth in them.
19 Maison d'Israël, bénissez l'Éternel! Maison d'Aaron, bénissez l'Éternel!
O house of Israel! bless Yahweh, O house of Aaron! bless Yahweh;
20 Maison de Lévi, bénissez l'Éternel! Adorateurs de l'Éternel, bénissez l'Éternel!
O house of Levi! bless Yahweh, Ye that revere Yahweh! bless Yahweh.
21 Que de Sion l'Éternel soit béni, lui qui réside en Jérusalem! Alléluia!
Blessed be Yahweh out of Zion, Who inhabiteth Jerusalem, Praise ye Yah!
