1 Cantique graduel. De David. Éternel, mon cœur est sans orgueil, et mes yeux sans fierté; je ne m'engage point dans les choses trop grandes ou trop relevées pour moi.

A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty. I do not aspire to great things or matters too lofty for me.

2 Oui, je maintiens mon âme tranquille et calme: tel auprès de la mamelle est un enfant sevré, tel un enfant sevré, telle est mon âme en moi.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 Israël, espère dans l'Éternel dès maintenant à l'éternité!

O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, both now and forevermore.
