Psaumes 130

1 Cantique graduel. Du fond des abîmes je t'implore, Éternel!

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Out of the depths do I cry to thee, O LORD!

2 Seigneur, entends ma voix! Que ton oreille soit attentive à ma prière!

O Lord! listen to my voice, Let thine ears be attentive to my supplication!

3 Si tu gardes la mémoire des transgressions, Éternel, Seigneur, qui est-ce qui subsistera?

If thou, LORD, shouldst treasure up transgressions, Lord, who could stand?

4 Mais non, le pardon est par devers toi, afin qu'on te craigne.

But with thee is forgiveness, That thou mayst be feared.

5 J'espère dans l'Éternel, mon âme espère, et je compte sur sa promesse.

I trust in the LORD; my soul doth trust, And in his promise do I confide.

6 Mon âme attend l'Éternel, plus que la sentinelle n'attend le matin, que la sentinelle n'attend le matin.

My soul waiteth for the LORD More than they who watch for the morning; Yea, more than they who watch for the morning!

7 Israël, espère dans l'Éternel! car la miséricorde est par devers l'Éternel, et Il a par devers lui un trésor de rédemption.

O Israel! trust in the LORD! For with the LORD is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.

8 Et Il rachètera Israël de toutes ses transgressions.

He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
