Michée 5
1 Pour le moment vous formez vos bataillons, hommes des bataillons; on met le siège devant nous: ils frappent de la verge la joue du juge d'Israël.
Yet now gather yourselves in troops, O people of troops! They lay siege against us; With a rod they smite the cheek of the judge of Israel.
2 Mais toi, Bethléhem Ephrata, trop petite pour être l'une des souches de Juda, de toi me sortira Celui qui sera dominateur en Israël, et dont l'origine remonte à l'antiquité et aux temps éternels.
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, Who art small to be among the thousands of Judah, Out of thee shall he come forth for me to be ruler in Israel, Whose origin is from the ancient age, from the days of old!
3 C'est pourquoi il les mettra à merci, jusqu'au temps où celle qui doit enfanter, enfante, et les restes de ses frères rejoindront les enfants d'Israël.
But He [[Jehovah]] shall deliver them up, Until she that bringeth forth hath brought forth; Then shall the residue of his brethren return to the children of Israel.
4 Et il se tiendra là et sera pasteur avec la vertu de l'Éternel et avec la majesté du nom de l'Éternel son Dieu, et ils seront en sécurité, car dès lors il sera grand jusqu'aux bouts de la terre.
He shall stand and rule in the strength of Jehovah, In the majesty of Jehovah, his God; And they shall dwell in security, For he shall be great even to the ends of the earth.
5 Et il sera lui-même la Paix. Si l'Assyrien envahit notre pays et porte ses pas dans nos palais, nous lui opposerons sept pasteurs et huit princes du peuple.
And he shall be peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, To trample upon our palaces, Then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, And eight leaders of the people,
6 Et ils paîtront la terre d'Assyrie avec l'épée, et la terre de Nemrod au dedans de ses portes; et il délivrera de l'Assyrien, s'il envahit notre pays et porte ses pas dans nos frontières.
And they shall devour the land of Assyria with the sword, The land of Nimrod within her gates. Thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, And treadeth in our borders.
7 Et les restes de Jacob seront au milieu de peuples nombreux comme une rosée qui vient de l'Éternel, comme sur l'herbe les gouttes de la pluie qui n'attendent rien de l'homme, et n'espèrent rien des enfants des hommes.
The residue of Jacob shall be in the midst of many nations As the dew which cometh from Jehovah, As drops of rain upon the grass, Which tarrieth not for man, Nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8 Et les restes de Jacob seront au milieu des peuples, parmi les nations nombreuses, comme le lion parmi les bêtes de la forêt, comme le lionceau dans un troupeau de brebis, où ayant pénétré il foule et déchire, et personne pour sauver.
The residue of Jacob shall be among the nations, In the midst of many kingdoms, As a lion among the beasts of the forest, As a young lion among flocks of sheep, Who, when he assaulteth, treadeth down and teareth, and none can deliver.
9 Que ta main soit levée sur tes adversaires, et que tous tes ennemis soient exterminés!
Thy hand shall be lifted up over thine adversaries, And all thine enemies shall be destroyed!
10 Et en ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel, j'exterminerai du milieu de toi tes chevaux, et détruirai tes chars,
It shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah, That I will destroy thy horses from the midst of thee, And I will consume thy chariots;
11 et j'exterminerai les villes de ton pays et démolirai tous tes forts,
I will destroy the fortified cities of thy land, And throw down all thy strongholds;
12 et j'exterminerai de ta main les enchantements, et tu n'auras plus de divinateurs,
I will destroy sorceries from thy borders, And soothsayers shall not be with thee.
13 et j'exterminerai tes idoles et tes statues du milieu de toi, et tu n'adoreras plus l'ouvrage de tes mains;
I will destroy thy graven images and thy statues from the midst of thee, And thou shalt no more bow down to the work of thine hands;
14 et j'arracherai tes Aschères du milieu de toi, et détruirai tes villes,
I will root out thy Astartes from the midst of thee, And I will destroy thy fortified cities;
15 et dans ma colère et mon courroux j'exercerai mes vengeances sur les nations qui ne veulent pas écouter.
And I will execute vengeance in anger and in fury Upon the nations which have not hearkened to me.
