Lévitique 5

1 Si quelqu'un pèche en refusant, quoique témoin oculaire ou informé, de déposer après avoir entendu la formule d'adjuration, il est sous le poids de son iniquité;

And if any one sin, and hear the voice of adjuration, and he is a witness whether he hath seen or known [it], if he do not give information, then he shall bear his iniquity.

2 ou, si quelqu'un a touché une chose souillée quelconque, soit le corps d'une bête impure morte, ou le corps d'un animal impur mort, ou le corps d'un reptile impur mort, quoiqu'il ne s'en soit pas douté, il est en état d'impureté et de délit;

Or if any one touch any unclean thing, whether it be the carcase of an unclean beast, or the carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of an unclean crawling thing, and it be hid from him, — he also is unclean and guilty;

3 ou, si quelqu'un a touché à une souillure attachée à l'homme quelle que soit la souillure dont il est infecté, que ce soit à son insu ou de son su, il est en état de délit;

or if he touch the uncleanness of man, any uncleanness of him by which he is defiled, and it be hid from him, when he knoweth [it], then he is guilty.

4 ou si quelqu'un profère de ses lèvres légèrement le serment de faire du mal ou du bien, ou l'une des choses que l'homme peut jurer légèrement, qu'il l'ait fait de son su ou à son insu, il est en état de délit dans l'un de ces cas:

Or if any one swear, talking rashly with the lips, to do evil or to do good, in everything that a man shall say rashly with an oath, and it be hid from him, when he knoweth [it], then is he guilty in one of these.

5 si donc il est en état de délit pour l'un de ces cas, il fera l'aveu de ce dont il est coupable

And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these, that he shall confess wherein he hath sinned;

6 et offrira en sacrifice de délit à l'Éternel pour le péché qu'il a commis, une femelle de menu bétail, une brebis ou une chèvre, en expiation, afin que le Prêtre par la propitiation le décharge de son péché.

and he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the small cattle, a sheep or doe goat, for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him [to cleanse him] from his sin.

7 Que si ses ressources ne vont pas jusqu'à un mouton, qu'il offre pour le délit qu'il a commis deux tourterelles on deux jeunes pigeons à l'Éternel, l'une en sacrifice expiatoire, l'autre en holocauste.

And if his hand be not able to bring what is so much as a sheep, then he shall bring for his trespass which he hath sinned two turtle-doves or two young pigeons, to Jehovah; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering.

8 Et il les apportera au Prêtre qui présentera ce qui est destiné à l'expiation, le premier volatile, et lui fendra la tête avec l'ongle dans la région de la nuque, mais sans le partager.

And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall present that which is for the sin-offering first, and pinch off his head at the neck, but shall not divide it;

9 Et avec le sang de la victime expiatoire il aspergera la paroi de l'Autel, et le reste du sang sera exprimé au pied de l'autel: c'est une victime expiatoire.

and he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering on the wall of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin-offering.

10 Et il sacrifiera le second volatile en holocauste d'après le rite: c'est ainsi que le Prêtre fera pour lui la propitiation à cause du péché qu'il a commis dans l'un de ces cas, afin qu'il lui soit pardonné.

And he shall offer the other for a burnt-offering, according to the ordinance. And the priest shall make atonement for him [to cleanse him] from his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

11 Et si ses ressources ne vont pas jusqu'à deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons, il présentera en oblation pour son péché un dixième d'épha de fleur de farine pour l'expiation; il n'y ajoutera ni huile, ni encens; car c'est une expiation.

But if his hand cannot attain to two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering: he shall put no oil on it, neither shall he put frankincense thereon; for it is a sin-offering.

12 Et il l'apportera au Prêtre, et le Prêtre en prendra une poignée pleine, la part destinée, et il la fera fumer sur l'Autel en sacrifice igné à l'Éternel: c'est une expiation.

And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, the memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, with Jehovah's offerings by fire: it is a sin-offering.

13 C'est ainsi que le Prêtre fera pour lui la propitiation à cause du péché qu'il a commis dans l'un de ces cas, afin qu'il lui soit pardonné, et [il en] sera pour le Prêtre comme de l'offrande.

And the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him; and it shall be the priest's, as the oblation.

14 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

15 Si quelqu'un fraude et fait par mégarde une infidélité dans les choses saintes dues à l'Éternel, il présentera pour sa victime de délit à l'Éternel un bélier sans défaut de son troupeau, sur ton évaluation, en sicles d'argent, monnaie du Sanctuaire, pour victime de délit.

If any one act unfaithfully and sin through inadvertence in the holy things of Jehovah, then he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the small cattle, according to thy valuation by shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass-offering.

16 Et il restituera ce en quoi il aura fraudé la redevance sainte, et y ajoutera un cinquième en sus; et il le remettra au Prêtre; et le Prêtre fera pour lui la propitiation avec le bélier, victime de délit, afin que pardon lui soit accordé.

And he shall make restitution for the wrong that he hath done in the holy things, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and shall give it unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, and it shall be forgiven him.

17 Et si quelqu'un pèche en faisant contre les commandements de l'Éternel l'une des choses dont on doit s'abstenir, et s'il l'a fait par ignorance et se trouve en état de délit et sous le poids de sa faute,

And if any one sin and do against any of all the commandments of Jehovah what should not be done, and hath not known [it], yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

18 il présentera un bélier sans défaut de son troupeau, selon ton évaluation, pour victime de délit, au Prêtre qui fera pour lui la propitiation à cause de son erreur et de son ignorance, afin que pardon lui soit accordé.

And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the small cattle, according to thy valuation, as trespass-offering, unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his inadvertence wherein he sinned inadvertently, and knew [it] not, and it shall be forgiven him.

19 C'est un sacrifice de délit, il s'est rendu coupable de délit envers l'Éternel.

It is a trespass-offering: he hath certainly trespassed against Jehovah.
