Lévitique 24
1 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
2 Ordonne aux enfants d'Israël de te fournir une pure huile d'olives triturées pour le candélabre afin d'y entretenir les lampes constamment.
“Enjoin the children of Israel [God prevails], that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a menorah ·lamp· to burn continually.
3 En dehors du rideau qui voile le Témoignage dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, Aaron le tiendra en état du soir au matin devant l'Éternel constamment; c'est une règle perpétuelle pour vos générations.
Outside of the veil of the Testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, shall Aaron [Light-bringer] keep it in order from evening to morning before Adonai continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout all your generations.
4 Sur le candélabre d'or pur il rangera les lampes devant l'Éternel constamment.
He shall keep in order the menorah ·lamp· candles on the pure gold menorah ·lamp· before Adonai continually.
5 Et tu prendras de la fleur de farine et en boulangeras douze galettes, chaque galette sera de deux dixièmes.
“You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: one tenth of an ephah [two omers; 4.6 q; 4.4 L] shall be in one cake.
6 Et tu les rangeras en deux piles, six par pile, sur la table d'or pur devant l'Éternel.
You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure gold table before Adonai.
7 Et sur chaque pile tu mettras du pur encens, qui ajouté au pain sera la part destinée, le sacrifice igné pour l'Éternel.
You shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Adonai.
8 Chaque sabbat il rangera toujours devant l'Éternel ces pains, à fournir par les enfants d'Israël comme signe d'alliance éternelle.
Every Shabath ·Intermission· day he shall set it in order before Adonai continually. It is on the behalf of the children of Israel [God prevails] an everlasting covenant.
9 Et ils appartiendront à Aaron et à ses fils qui les mangeront en lieu saint, car c'est une part très-sainte qui lui revient sur les sacrifices ignés faits à l'Éternel, une prestation perpétuelle.
It shall be for Aaron [Light-bringer] and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Adonai made by fire by a perpetual statute.”
10 Et le fils d'une femme Israélite, lequel était fils d'un Égyptien et vivait au milieu des enfants d'Israël, sortit; et il s'éleva dans le camp une querelle entre le fils de la femme Israélite et un Israélite.
The son of an Israelite [Descendant of God prevails] woman, whose father was an Egyptian [person from Abode of slavery], went out among the children of Israel [God prevails]; and the son of the Israelite [Descendant of God prevails] woman and a man of Israel [God prevails] strove together in the camp.
11 Et le fils de la femme Israélite outragea Le Nom et Le maudit. Sur quoi ils l'amenèrent à Moïse. Or le nom de sa mère était Selomith, et elle était fille de Dibri, de la tribu de Dan.
The son of the Israelite [Descendant of God prevails] woman blasphemed HaShem [The Name], and cursed; and they brought him to Moses [Drawn out]. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan [He judged].
12 Et ils le mirent en prison, pour se déterminer selon la parole de l'Éternel.
They put him in custody, until Adonai’s will should be declared to them.
13 Alors l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
14 Fais conduire le blasphémateur hors du camp, et tous ceux qui l'ont entendu, poseront leurs mains sur sa tête, et il sera lapidé par toute l'Assemblée.
“Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who sh'ma ·heard obeyed· him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
15 Et tu parleras aux enfants d'Israël en ces termes: Quiconque maudit son Dieu, est sous le poids de son péché;
You shall speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], saying, ‘Whoever curses his God shall bear his crime deserving penalty, sin ·missing the goal·.
16 et qui outragera le nom de l'Éternel sera mis à mort; il sera lapidé par toute l'Assemblée, l'étranger aussi bien, que l'indigène; s'il outrage Le Nom, il sera mis à mort.
He who blasphemes Adonai’s name, he shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him. The foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes HaShem [The Name], shall be put to death.
17 Quiconque ôtera la vie à un homme sera mis à mort;
“‘He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death.
18 et quiconque aura ôté la vie à un animal, le remplacera, vie pour vie.
He who strikes an animal mortally shall make it good, life for life.
19 Si quelqu'un porte dommage à son prochain il lui sera fait comme il a fait:
If anyone injures his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him:
20 fracture pour fracture, œil pour œil, dent pour dent, le même dommage qu'il aura causé à un homme, lui sera rendu.
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has injured someone, so shall it be done to him.
21 Et qui ôtera la vie à un animal le remplacera; mais qui ôtera la vie à un homme sera mis à mort.
He who kills an animal shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death.
22 Vous aurez un seul droit, et l'étranger et l'indigène seront traités également, car je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
You shall have one kind of judgment for the foreigner as well as the native-born; for I am Adonai your God.’”
23 Et Moïse parla aux enfants d'Israël qui conduisirent le blasphémateur hors du camp et le lapidèrent, et les enfants d'Israël se conformèrent à l'ordre donné à Moïse par l'Éternel.
Moses [Drawn out] spoke to the children of Israel [God prevails]; and they brought out him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Israel [God prevails] did as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out].
