Lévitique 19
1 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
AND the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Parle à toute l'Assemblée des enfants d'Israël et dis-leur: Soyez saints, car je suis Saint, moi, l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.
3 Que chacun de vous respecte son père et sa mère et observez mes sabbats. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.
4 Ne vous adressez point aux idoles et ne vous faites point de dieux de fonte. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.
5 Et quand vous sacrifierez une victime pacifique à l'Éternel, vous l'offrirez de manière à être agréés.
And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord, ye shall offer it at your own will.
6 Et elle se mangera le jour du sacrifice et le lendemain, et ce qui sera resté jusqu'au troisième jour sera brûlé au feu.
It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
7 Et si on en mange le troisième jour, elle sera un objet de dégoût, et n'agréera point.
And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
8 Et qui en mangera sera sous le poids de sa faute; car il aura profané ce qui est consacré à l'Éternel; et cette personne sera éliminée du sein de son peuple.
Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the Lord: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
9 Et quand vous récolterez les moissons de votre pays, tu ne moissonneras pas entièrement les angles de ton champ et ne ramasseras pas la glanure après ta moisson.
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
10 Et tu ne grappilleras pas ta vigne et ne recueilleras pas les grains tombés de tes ceps; tu les abandonneras au pauvre et à l'étranger. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.
11 Ne dérobez point, et n'employez ni mensonge ni fraude les uns envers les autres.
Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
12 Et ne faites point de faux serment en mon nom, car ce serait profaner le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel.
And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
13 N'exerce sur ton prochain ni oppression ni rapine. Que le salaire du mercenaire ne séjourne pas chez toi jusqu'au matin.
Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Ne maudis point le sourd, et ne place point d'achoppement devant l'aveugle, et aie la crainte de ton Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel.
Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.
15 Ne prévariquez point en jugeant, et n'ayez ni partialité pour les petits, ni considération pour les grands: juge ton prochain selon la justice.
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Ne va point calomniant parmi tes concitoyens, et ne t'offre pas comme témoin contre la vie de ton prochain. Je suis l'Éternel.
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord.
17 Ne hais point ton frère dans ton cœur, exprime tes griefs à ton prochain afin que, à cause de lui, tu ne te charges pas d'un péché.
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18 Ne sois ni vindicatif ni rancunier envers les enfants de ton peuple, et aime ton prochain comme toi-même. Je suis l'Éternel.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
19 Observez mes statuts. Vous n'accouplerez point des bestiaux de deux espèces. Tu n'ensemenceras point ton champ de semences de deux espèces, et tu ne porteras point d'habits tissus de fils de deux espèces.
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
20 Si un homme a commerce avec une femme et que ce soit une fille fiancée à un autre, mais qui n'a pas été rachetée ni affranchie, il y aura châtiment; mais ils ne seront pas mis à mort, parce qu'elle n'est pas affranchie.
And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
21 Il amènera sa victime pour délit à l'Éternel à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, un bélier comme victime pour délit.
And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 Et le Prêtre fera pour lui la propitiation avec le bélier, victime pour délit, devant l'Éternel, à cause du péché qu'il a commis, afin qu'il obtienne son pardon pour le péché qu'il a commis.
And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
23 Et quand vous serez entrés au pays et y aurez planté toute sorte d'arbres fruitiers, vous jetterez leur prépuce, leurs [premiers] fruits; pendant trois ans vous les tiendrez pour incirconcis, et vous ne vous en nourrirez pas;
And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
24 et la quatrième année tous leurs fruits seront saints et serviront aux fêtes de l'Éternel;
But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the Lord withal.
25 mais la cinquième année vous en mangerez les fruits — pour en augmenter la récolte à votre profit. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the Lord your God.
26 Ne mangez rien avec du sang. Ne pratiquez point de charmes et ne tirez point d'augures.
Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
27 Ne tondez point en rond l'extrémité de votre chevelure, et ne rase point les coins de ta barbe.
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Ne vous faites point d'incision sur le corps à propos d'un mort et ne vous marquez d'aucune inscription au poinçon. Je suis l'Éternel.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
29 Ne profane point ta fille en la prostituant, afin que le pays ne se prostitue pas et ne se remplisse pas de crime.
Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
30 Observez mes Sabbats et révérez mon Sanctuaire. Je suis l'Éternel.
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
31 Ne vous adressez ni aux évocateurs, ni aux devins; ne les consultez pas afin de ne pas vous souiller avec eux. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
32 Lève-toi devant les cheveux blancs, et honore la personne du vieillard, et aie la crainte de ton Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel.
Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.
33 Si un étranger séjourne chez vous dans votre pays, ne l'opprimez pas;
And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 traitez comme un indigène l'étranger qui séjourne chez vous, et aime-le comme toi-même, car vous fûtes étrangers dans le pays d'Egypte. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
35 Ne commettez d'iniquité ni en jugeant, ni en prenant une dimension, ni en pesant, ni en mesurant;
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
36 ayez une balance juste, et des poids justes, et un épha juste et un hin juste. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui vous ai tirés du pays d'Egypte.
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 Observez ainsi tous mes statuts et toutes mes lois et pratiquez-les. Je suis l'Éternel.
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the Lord.
