Lévitique 17

1 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et dit:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

2 Parle à Aaron et ses fils et à tous les enfants d'Israël et leur dis: Voici le commandement que l'Éternel a donné en disant:

Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, and to all the children of Israel, and say vnto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,

3 S'il est un individu quelconque de la maison d'Israël qui égorge dans le camp ou égorge hors du camp un bœuf ou un mouton ou une chèvre,

Whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel that killeth a bullocke, or lambe, or goate in the hoste, or that killeth it out of the hoste,

4 sans l'amener à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous pour l'offrir en oblation à l'Éternel devant la Résidence de l'Éternel, effusion de sang sera imputée à cet homme-là; il a versé du sang et cet homme-là sera éliminé du sein de son peuple,

And bringeth it not vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer an offring vnto the Lord before the Tabernacle of the Lord, blood shalbe imputed vnto that man: he hath shed blood, wherefore that man shall be cut off from among his people.

5 afin que les enfants d'Israël amènent leurs victimes qu'ils voudraient sacrifier en pleine campagne, qu'ils les amènent devant l'Éternel à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous au Prêtre, et qu'ils les offrent comme sacrifices pacifiques à l'Éternel.

Therefore the children of Israel shall bring their offrings, which they would offer abroad in the fielde, and present the vnto ye Lord at the doore of the Tabernacle of ye Congregation by ye Priest, and offer them for peace offrings vnto the Lord.

6 Et le Prêtre en répandra le sang à l'Autel de l'Éternel, à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et fera fumer la graisse en parfum agréable à l'Éternel.

Then the Priest shall sprinkle the blood vpon the Altar of the Lord before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and burne the fat for a sweete sauour vnto the Lord.

7 Et ils ne sacrifieront plus leurs victimes aux boucs après lesquels ils vont se prostituant. C'est une règle perpétuelle qu'ils suivront dans tous leurs âges.

And they shall no more offer their offerings vnto deuils, after whom they haue gone a whoring: this shalbe an ordinance for euer vnto them in their generations.

8 Tu leur diras encore: S'il est un individu quelconque dans la maison d'Israël ou parmi les étrangers en séjour chez eux qui offre un holocauste ou une victime

Also thou shalt say vnto them, whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which soiourne among them, that offreth a burnt offring or sacrifice,

9 sans l'amener à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous pour l'offrir en sacrifice à l'Éternel, cet homme-là sera éliminé du sein de son peuple.

And bringeth it not vnto ye doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer it vnto the Lord, euen that man shall be cut off from his people.

10 Et s'il est un individu quelconque dans la maison d'Israël ou parmi les étrangers en séjour chez eux, qui mange d'un sang quelconque, je tournerai ma face contre la personne qui mange le sang, et l'éliminerai du sein de son peuple.

Likewise whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that soiourne among them, that eateth any blood, I will euen set my face against that person that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

11 Car l'âme de la chair est dans le sang, et je vous l'ai accordé à l'Autel pour faire la propitiation en faveur de vos âmes, car c'est par l'âme que le sang opère la propitiation.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I haue giuen it vnto you to offer vpon the altar, to make an atonement for your soules: for this blood shall make an atonement for the soule.

12 C'est pourquoi je dis aux enfants d'Israël: Personne parmi vous ne mangera de sang, même l'étranger en séjour chez vous ne mangera pas de sang.

Therefore I saide vnto ye children of Israel, None of you shall eate blood: neither the stranger that soiourneth among you, shall eate blood.

13 Et s'il est un individu quelconque parmi les enfants d'Israël ou les étrangers en séjour chez eux qui prenne à la chasse du gibier ou quelque oiseau qui se mange, il en fera couler le sang qu'il couvrira de terre.

Moreouer whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that soiourne among the, which by hunting taketh any beast or foule that may be eaten, he shall powre out the blood thereof, and couer it with dust:

14 Car l'âme de toute chair est son sang qui est uni à son âme: je dis donc aux enfants d'Israël: Vous ne mangerez du sang d'aucune chair, car l'âme de toute chair, c'est son sang: quiconque en mangera sera éliminé.

For ye life of all flesh is his blood, it is ioyned with his life: therefore I sayd vnto the children of Israel, Ye shall eate the blood of no flesh: for the life of al flesh is the blood thereof: whosoeuer eateth it, shalbe cut off.

15 Et toute personne parmi les indigènes ou les étrangers qui mangera d'une bête morte ou déchirée, lavera ses vêtements, se baignera dans l'eau et sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté: puis elle sera pure.

And euery person that eateth it which dyeth alone, or that which is torne with beastes, whether it be one of the same countrey or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and wash himselfe in water, and be vncleane vnto the euen: after he shalbe cleane.

16 Que si elle ne lave pas ses vêtements et ne se baigne pas le corps, elle sera sous le poids de sa faute.

But if he wash them not, nor wash his flesh, then he shall beare his iniquitie.
